All of us May mummies are BACK like the Terminator only less deadly (unless preggo rage strikes and we're within waddling distance of sharp things)

The baby can't be 30cm!!! That's massive!!! Erm I know I've given birth before and everything but if my fanjo definitely ISNT 30cm and the baby is 6 months with 3 months to go.....

NannyPlumForPM · 25/01/2014 15:13

Yep I second tits advice - something cold and fizzy (they say a cold can of full fat coke) because of the sugar caffeine and cold and fizz- it's a full whammy! Then lay down for a bit and I'm sure your baby'll be bouncing!

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 25/01/2014 15:39

dobe what always works for this one is go to the loo, have a cold fizzy drink - Sprite gets Mini Moom going - then lie back down. Also lying on your side is sometimes recommended, and then lying back to see if you can feel it wriggling.

The advice I've had from midwife and Antenatal day unit is if in doubt, to call them.

Xavielli · 25/01/2014 15:50

If mine stop moving for longer than a couple of hours I give them a jolly good poke. They're always eager to poke me back

mumof2aimingfor4 · 25/01/2014 16:23

Xav thats was going to be my advice! I've given all three of mine a good poke in the past to get a knock back.

dobedobedo · 25/01/2014 16:24

I felt some movements after a cold drink and sitting down for a while. Not huge kicks so I just assume he's got his legs wrapped around his head or is in some other awkward position!

Phew! Smile gonna get some emergency fat coke in for these kinds of situations in future!

PotatoPolly · 25/01/2014 16:40

dobe I was literally just thinking the same thing! Going to try some orange juice Smile I'll report back.

Flixy102 · 25/01/2014 18:17

I've been feeling the baby move lots but it's been a different sort of movement the past few days. Had an appointment with the midwife yesterday and apparently the baby is lying across my belly, not up and down so that would account for the change in feelings I've been having!

dobedobedo · 25/01/2014 18:18

I posted a pic of me on Instagram being 37 weeks pregnant with ds. A "friend" of mine commented that it's not a good look. Hmm

She's had a few comments back from people telling her she's out of order and it's a beautiful look etc.
This is the same friend who, when we were teenagers, told me I was too fat (at size 10) and I shouldn't eat dinners in school. Angry

Moron. I'm pretending I haven't even seen her comment.

IWantToBePippiLongstocking · 25/01/2014 18:39

Sounds like she has issues Dobe. I feel a little sorry for her.

Thank god they don't come out sideways Nanny! It is pretty amazing that we can push a newborn out. My dds have been 50cm + in lenght when born. They measure the height in Finland as well as the weight.

MrsFooCough · 25/01/2014 18:43

dobe she sounds like she's got body dysmorphia issues, or is just a BITCH. I'd reckon the latter Smile I have always looked forward to pregnancy as being one of the most beautiful times in a woman's life - I must say, however rubbish I feel with cramps or diarrhoea or nausea or sometimes all three, I do scrub up very very well Blush pregnancy has done something to me! Something goooooood because DH can't get enough of me!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 25/01/2014 18:59

dobe she sounds like a jealous moron. Im assuming in your picture you looked amazing and she had to be an arsehole over it.

NannyPlumForPM · 25/01/2014 19:58

Do we assume she is a childless skinny-bitch? Or a smug 'oh actually I only put on 3lbs this child haw haw haw, I simply can't imagine how one puts on 5 st! (By the way I don't hate all people who manage not to put on much excess weight, just the smug ones who think there's no other option- pregnancy is personal to the individual!!)

mrsmummytobe · 25/01/2014 20:52

I agree dobe, she's probably just jealous. That's still really hurtful though & I can't believe she would write something like that. I have found that everyone seems to feel they have the right to comment on your weight/size during pregnancy!

dobedobedo · 25/01/2014 21:02

Yeah she has no kids. She does have babies though, she calls herself mummy to her handbag shitzus (I've probably spelled that wrong!). Hmm

She probably does have issues.

dobedobedo · 25/01/2014 21:04

Nanny I put on almost 5 stone with the first, and nothing so far with this! Mind you, I was still thinner with the first than I am now Blush
It depends on the pregnancy I think. Sometimes you want to eat everything in sight, sometimes you're too sick or lazy to eat!
I'm getting to the "eat everything in sight" stage with this one now.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 25/01/2014 21:33

Haha the woman with shitzus has issuz!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 25/01/2014 21:33

Sorry no offence to anyone who owns shitzus just your post rhymed so it made me laugh dobe.

Bezzabelle · 25/01/2014 21:49

Hi all, am on the June thread but had consultant appt on fri and has booked my c section in for 23rd may so thought I come and say hi here too and alternate between the two if that's ok?

LongTailedTit · 25/01/2014 22:44

Welcome Bezza, make yourself comfy! :)

On the weight-gain topic, I suspect The Hunger is kicking in here, or rather, The Greed in my case. My scales don't work properly so I'm not too sure how much I've gained, but judging on today's eclair and vanilla crown consumption it's not pretty. Might need to start paying better attention to my diet, boooooring.... I like sugar too much...

dobedobedo That woman is seriously rude and lacking in the most basic social skills - well done for not responding to her. Glad your friends stuck up for you - any chance you can un-friend ShitzhuBitch?
I'm going to get DH to take lots more pics of me this time as TinyTit's our last - I like how I look pregnant but don't photograph very well, I'm hoping for at least one nice pic with a proper big bump!

NannyPlumForPM · 25/01/2014 23:23

Welcome welcome bezza- how many weeks will that make you when you go in for c section?

MrsFooCough · 25/01/2014 23:26

Hello bezzabelle and welcome to the May mummies club! Knowing my luck, with an EDD of 31st May, I should take your place in the June thread! Haha! I was a wk late as was DH so I'm thinking this Bean will hang on in there too Hmm

Squiffie · 25/01/2014 23:27

Sorry for your loss moomin, hope your oh is ok!

How rude of her dobe!

I'm away for the weekend sleeping in a youth hostel bunk - sooo not comfy! X

randdom · 25/01/2014 23:46

I just had a nasty fall over a step I didn't see in the dark. Sent me flying. Landed on my hands and knees rather than the bump. Baby has been moving since but my back is really saw and I have badly grazed my knee. Feeling really shaken up :(

MrsFooCough · 25/01/2014 23:51

Ohh random that does sound scary. Glad your mummy instincts protected bump! Remember that even if you had landed a bit on bump, the uterine muscles are v v strong, so try not to let fears like that creep in while you're still shaken-up my lovely xxxxx bumps are tougher than we think!
