All of us May mummies are BACK like the Terminator only less deadly (unless preggo rage strikes and we're within waddling distance of sharp things)

Anyone near/know Hayward's Heath? I posted this www.mumsnet.com/Talk/what_would_you_do/199229h3-Slaugham-Place-wedding-with-new-born in "What would you do?"

Bornin1984 · 08/02/2014 22:45

Congrats Alyss!! Makes it all very real that we now can be having real babies! And it can happen at anytime!

Gabriel is your shining star :-)Thanks

Squiffie · 09/02/2014 01:27

Oh Alyss, huge hugs. I can't begin to imagine the mix of emotions you must have right now. I can't find the right words in my head that express what I want to about you getting to spend time with Jeffrey. I want to say 'enjoy' or 'treasure' the time but somehow I know they're not the right words. Please know that I'm thinking of you as I'm sure we all our and we will be here to listen to your news of Gabriel and Jeffrey your treasured twins. Jeffrey will always be as much a part of your life as Gabriel I'm sure and I hope your family and friends are never afraid to speak his name. Lots of love to you and your family. X x

Vikks · 09/02/2014 06:17

Can’t really sleep here.

Thinking of you Alyss and your family. The emotions you must be going through….hard to imagine. Thanks x

loopylou52 · 09/02/2014 09:41

As others have said, can't imagine all the emotions alyss, but just know we're all thinking of you and rooting for you.

Would someone be able to join me to the Facebook group?

xalyssx · 09/02/2014 11:23

Gabriel has been weaned off of some of the ventilation and has had the treatment for jaundice. Jeffrey has been taken down to the mortuary now because he is starting to decay and I don't want to see that. Emotionally I'm doing well, I'm looking at the positives but I'm still aware of the negatives, and the nurses are happy with me. Unfortunately physically I'm not doing too well, they think I have an infection, but I feel okay enough. I should be going to King's either tonight or tomorrow.

moobaloo · 09/02/2014 11:45

Sending all the best wishes possible to you and Gabriel Alyss. Glad you had some time with Jeffrey. Hope everything gets sorted with possible infection and you are fit and healthy soon, and hope you keep feeling good and are reunited with Gabriel very soon.

I am absolutely amazed that the first baby of this thread has been born! Massive congratulations

dobedobedo · 09/02/2014 12:04

Glad to hear Gabriel is doing well! Hopefully you're on the mend too and you can go see him again soon. Do please keep us updated Thanks

I just sorted through the baby clothes we've got so far. 10 sleep suits, 15 vests (5 long sleeved), 2 all in one outfits (no feet), one pair of soft trousers, one long sleeved t shirt, one jumper, one cardi. 15 bibs, 15 pairs of socks, 2 hats, 2 pairs of scratch mitts, 6 muslins (I'm gonna get about 10 more of these).
Everything is in size 0-3 months, but from various different places so some are smaller than others. I don't see the point in new born sizes as ds only fit in them for about a week and he was average weight when born.

Is this all I need? People will probably buy us stuff too and if they don't, I'll send dh out with a list. Ds is 9 so I can't remember what clothes I went through with him!

bushprincess · 09/02/2014 12:21

So glad he's off the ventilator alyss that sounds really positive, he's obviously such a fighter! I hope they can get on top of your infection quickly and that you can be transferred to kings to be with him as soon as possible.

Emotionally I can't begin to understand what you're going though but pleased you seem to be feeling positive, you have to give yourself the time to grieve Jeffery of course, but it's wonderful that you have gorgeous little Gabriel to help you through!

Looking forward to hearing more good news on Gabriel soon! you have been on my mind alot this morning - showed my DH Gabriels picture and he was amazed that at 26 weeks he could be such a perfect little boy - life is amazing!

NannyPlumForPM · 09/02/2014 13:41

Great news alyss, hope Gabriel continues to thrive!

dobe that sounds about right to be honest! Dd is 3 and was 6 lb 2 born so she was in preemie stuff for a while ( born at 39 wks) but the hospital were more than happy to provide! Maybe more hats is the only thing? But they usually come with the tiny outfits people buy. How about hooded towels for the bath?

Personally I didn't find Muslims super useful and preferred the bath sheet towel approach when winding (dd was projectile vomiter) whereas I found muslins to be thin and a bit rubbishy.... But that could be down to individual babies obviously!!

I'm a bit stuck cos I'm pretty sure dd 2 will have to wear a cast on her leg for the first couple of months so I'm going to have to cut a leg of All sleep suits! Going to check she def does need that surgery first but it's pretty much a given. Luckily I've got lots of dresses and things so I can just put half a pair of tights on or something!!

NannyPlumForPM · 09/02/2014 13:42

Just re read And obviously I do not think Muslims are useless rather muslins.... Muslims I am sure are as useful as anybody else! (Digs hole....)

loopylou52 · 09/02/2014 13:57

We've just ordered a load of clothes from Mothercare - they currently have 20% off clothes if you buy at least three items. We've bought most stuff in newborn size so far - they say that goes up to 10lbs and I know they lose a bit of weight at first so I was hoping these would work for when baby is first born? We've also ordered some bits in 0-3 and will get more but figure people are more likely to buy us things in that size.

dobedobedo · 09/02/2014 14:25

Haha nanny that made me laugh!

I have a hooded towel, but I'm going to see if anyone buys us anymore because that's the kinda thing people tend to buy.

bushprincess · 09/02/2014 14:28

hahaha nanny that made me laugh!!
