All of us May mummies are BACK like the Terminator only less deadly (unless preggo rage strikes and we're within waddling distance of sharp things)

impatientlywaiting · 08/02/2014 16:41

Huge huge congratulations Alyss. Can't believe the first baby of the thread has been born.

Hope you get to see and cuddle him as soon as possible.

Spent the day on day 1 of our hypnobirthing class. I loved it. 2 other couples there and it was really informative. Our teacher is a practicing midwife so it was all really practical. Back for day 2 in a fortnight and already I feel like I've learnt a lot. If anyone is thinking about going for it I would definitely recommend it.

SicknSpan · 08/02/2014 17:55

Well done alyss! Hope things progress smoothly for you all from here on in x

Managed a bargain this morning, took dc to their school as they were holding a fundraising table sale only expecting to buy Cake, Cake and yes, more Cake but got an unused tens machine from a friends stall for £10. Was going to rent one anyway for more than that so am v pleased. And a baby nest (inflatable ring type one with fabric cover) too. Going to order the buggy soon, going for a Mamas and Papas Zoom so nothing hugely fancy but feel like we are actually getting things sorted!

Need to get a sling for when the baby is newborn. Have been recommended a "closer" sling- any other recommendations from baby wearers?

dobedobedo · 08/02/2014 18:03

We got to see our baby today! I've put a couple of the 4d photos on the facebook group.

He was breech, facing my back with his face buried in the placenta - so he couldn't have been in a more awkward position if he tried! But we got a couple of cute pics and we got to double check that he is indeed a he Grin

DS loved seeing him - he was quite amazed. I just can't wait to meet him now!

rebeccax2 · 08/02/2014 18:19

Wow wow wow! Congratulations Alyss - oh I can't wait to see a picture of the little darling.

Our first little baby! I'm so delighted for you.

All well in my camp, apart from finding it harder to sleep these days, but I have a decent bump now so not surprised!

SarahJinx · 08/02/2014 18:27

Evening all, I'm terrible at posting, but I lurk to keep up most days! Biggest congrats Alyss, I can't imagine what that must have been like but so, so glad all is ok with you all, Gabriel is a beautiful name, hope you get cuddles soon!

Blue I hope your mum is progressing, my mum is my absolute rock, again, I can't imagine.

Fab scan and bump pics over on the FB page, so nice to compare bumps, I've been called 'huge' twice this week, hmmmm, that's not a compliment is it??

Here, I need to get my arse in gear and sort out the nursery, DS has never actually slept in there, and obviously we fully furnished it all pre his arrival. It turned into the place where i fed, washed and dressed him, and now, it's where his clothes live......it's a race against time now to get his new 'big boy bedroom' ready in good enough time to get him out of our room and in there so he doesn't put two and two together to equal baby brother or sister usurper!!

I did buy a buggy though.....head firmly in the sand!

GTT on Tuesday - dreading it, am useless at being two minutes in one place let alone two blimmin hours!

xalyssx · 08/02/2014 18:47

Gabriel has been transferred to King's hospital in London because there is no space in the NICU in Ashford, and he was brought in to see me on his way to the ambulance. I got to hold his hand and so did DP and mum. He was 26 weeks gestation and weighed just over 2lbs. Hopefully I will be transferred to London tomorrow. The baby that passed away is called Jeffrey, and we had a little service for him. He is now in a basket next to me overnight.

NannyPlumForPM · 08/02/2014 18:52

Oh fingers crossed for Gabriel the little fighter!

SarahJinx · 08/02/2014 18:57

Oh Alyss, must be a huge mix of emotions. Lovely that you get to have some time with Jeffery, holding your hand xx

SicknSpan · 08/02/2014 19:17

Oh alyss I'm so sorry that I didn't twig you were expecting twins. You must think we're really insensitive, congratulating on Gabriel's arrival but not asking about your other precious baby. I'm so, so sorry that Jeffrey didn't make it. No words for your sad loss. Hope that the gap he leaves feels smaller in time xxx

MrsFooCough · 08/02/2014 19:18

Alyss my lovely I'm glad things are going well with Gabriel. Saw on FB about this, ran over here (well, waddled) to say congrats and everything on here too Smile I hope spending some time with your little Jeffrey isn't too sad, he will hopefully always be a part of Gabriel's life and I'm sure you'll keep his memory alive xxxxxxxxxxx
