All of us May mummies are BACK like the Terminator only less deadly (unless preggo rage strikes and we're within waddling distance of sharp things)

The mat pads are handy if your waters break before you get where you will be labouring. I have a couple ready as my waters have always broken before the contractions started.

Hez I'm an irratable witch these days and reckon it is the hormones.

I have been off the sweets and junk food for a couple of weeks now and am craving some chocolate today. I put on 800g per week after xmas so had to do something about my sweet tooth. I'm getting a growth scan next week to see if I will be a candidate for GTT.

I feel so hungry these days too.

bushprincess · 03/02/2014 19:18

Evening all, moomin hope you're ok and that tomorrow goes as well as it can do...

sorry to hear about your bp mrsfoo hope it settles down, must be horrible

alyss and xav hope you're both home safe and sound

isean fingers crossed for an all clear at your next appointment or on the growth scan

Feels like everything is getting very near now with all this talk of mat pads and waters breaking... eek... might have to bury my head in the sand (which will be lovely and white and soft.... DH currently scouring trip advisor for our babymoon destination!!)

Hope everyone else is doing fine... I'm off to scour the kitchen for something to satisfy my sweet-tooth!

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 03/02/2014 19:45

Scan is fine, baby is bang on for dates, been told to go back if I have any worries. Next scan in 4 weeks. Now just got to call if I don't get neurology referral in the next few days.

McBaby · 03/02/2014 20:26

Hope everyone is feeling good today and stays out of hospital for a while.

I had the whooping cough jab today my arm is so sore! Not sure it will help with the uncomfortable sleeping from progressively worse and worse hips!

loopylou52 · 03/02/2014 20:58

Evening all! Just to say will be thinking of you tomorrow moomin Thanks

Sorry to hear there are a few people with blood pressure issues. Hope you're all taking it easy.

I've suddenly got the hunger of the first trimester again, accompanied by bouts of exhaustion. Not looking forward to a long trip for work tomorrow. Question for those of you who've had issues with iron levels - did you feel really tired all the time? I feel ok (well, normal levels of tiredness) a lot of the time but then it suddenly comes over me - I'm guessing this is pretty normal considering we're heading into the third trimester?

ThistleLickerIsGoingToBeAMummy · 03/02/2014 22:47

Aw wow I've just won a bunch of flowers on fb

ClearlyMoo · 03/02/2014 23:07

Well done on your win Thistle!

Ha ha Vikks hope you enjoyed your milkshake.

We start antenatal classes. Just had an email suggesting we wear loose fitting clothes nice socks (no shoe policy) and take a towel, a pillow and a birthing ball if we have one. The centre it's held in is a short walk from public car park! We're going to look like right nonces carrying all our stuff in. Also having pre-28 week bloods tomorrow which I hate. Last time was lovely nurse, this time will be phlebotomist. Hope he/she is as friendly and let's me lie down so I don't have to see and less likely to faint (I'm such a squeamer)!

Moomin thinking of you and your OHs family tomorrow at funeral, hope travel was ok and you found something comfy and smart to wear.

PotatoPolly · 03/02/2014 23:20

Will be thinking about you tomorrow Moomin Thanks

NannyPlumForPM · 03/02/2014 23:55

Another thinking of you tomorrow moomin- really hope oh and yourself cope ok xxx

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 04/02/2014 00:23

Thanks everyone. Glad I'm going tbh, think OH will need me. I think he's looking forwards to it being over, death seems to be scaring him. He's convinced himself that my headaches are being caused by a brain tumour, that something's going to happen to his parents etc. I wish I knew how to help him.

mrsmummytobe · 04/02/2014 05:08

Wow, haven't been on this thread much in the past couple of days & it moves so quickly!

Love to all the hospital ladies & thinking of you. Moomin, will also be thinking of you & your family & hoping that the funeral goes the best it possibly can. Sorry for those ladies with BP issues & hope they get sorted out ASAP. Hugs to anyone else who needs them Thanks

I've booked my whooping cough vaccine for 2 weeks time when I'll be 28 weeks. The bump is growing much quicker these days & feeling more & more uncomfortable! But the good news is I can feel more movements than ever, which is lovely :) Still finding it hard to sleep through the night. Hoping I can get back to sleep as the alarm isn't going off until 7.

Minions · 04/02/2014 07:01

Praying for you moomin, your OH and his family today. You'll be a great comfort to him x

randdom · 04/02/2014 07:12

I'm so tired. I am awake every night for 1-2 hours and when I am asleep the dreams I have are so vivid that I don't wake up feeling rested. This has been going on for weeks now. I just want a good night Hmm

I am also really paranoid because a few weeks ago baby had a good few days of really strong movements but for the last two weeks things have been weaker. Still moving regularly just not as strong.

bushprincess · 04/02/2014 07:36

Thinking of you and your oh today moomin

random maybe bean has moved into a position where movement is dulled by placenta? Hope all is ok but do get checked if you're worried...

loopy I'm anemic and that sounds similar to me, I'm generally fine but had some really lethargic daysnso decided to get checked out, have you been checked?

Tmi alert...... having started on iron tabs I've become horribly constiipated Blush ..... had to start on a mild laxative yesterday as feel like I'm carrying 2 babies round with me!!!!!!!

mrsmummytobe · 04/02/2014 08:00

Randdom I agree get checked out if you're worried. I had reduced movements last week & it was really scary.

Has anyone else had the feeling that the baby is pushing on your bladder really hard as you are weeing?! Such a weird feeling. My bump is feeling so achy today - think it's growing pains!

loopylou52 · 04/02/2014 08:35

Thanks bushprincess, I've got my 28 week midwife appointment next week so will mention it then. Haven't been checked since my booking bloods and my iron levels were very good then, but I guess a lot can change in 20 weeks! I just feel a bit silly complaining of tiredness in case they just say erm, well you're 6 months pregnant!

randdom - I get paranoid about that too, but I imagine it is that the baby has moved position. Do get checked out if you're worried though.

I def get the squashed bladder feeling a lot but not specifically when I'm weeing. I just find I go to the loo and then (often literally) have to go again immediately after! Blush

dobedobedo · 04/02/2014 08:51

randdom I had that - weaker movements. It was because the baby was transverse and they've got much more room to wave about without hitting much in that position. Get checked out if you're worrying though. The midwife told me they'd rather do "unnecessary" checks than have a mum worrying herself sick that something was wrong - stress isn't good when pregnant so avoid it if you can!

MrsFooCough · 04/02/2014 09:43

Ha at the daycare centre the midwife listened in for Bean's heartbeat and about 4/5 times, before the machine got a proper read on the bpm, Bean kicked the probe away! I was so embarrassed!
moomin I'm thinking of you and your OH today xxxx lots of love from us all here xxxx
I dunno if we'll go to antenatal classes - DH can't get back from work until 6:30pm at the earliest and I dunno when they'd be held. Also I'm outraged that we'd probably have to pay, as there aren't any NHS ones around here.

Thinking of you, OH and his family today. Hope everything goes as you want it to. X x

Glad to hear everyone's out of hospital who's been in and hope you're continuing to feel well.

I'm feeling really sorry for myself at the moment; got a really heavy cold and a really bloody irritating cough. I have episodes where I cough so much and so hard that it makes me throw up or pee myself Blush I've been making myself hot honey and lemon drinks and taking a couple of paracetamol. I don't know if I should see the doctor or whether it'd just be a waste of everyone's time Sad

kally195 · 04/02/2014 10:12

Morning all.
moomin thinking of you and your OH today xx

Hope you are feeling better MrsFoo. We're having a similar issue with antenatal classes. The only NHS ones are all day classes on a Saturday, every six weeks. The next one (March) we could have done, but it is full already (they have just reduced the class size!), the next one at the end of April we are working and then it's my due date. Might have a look at what the NCT offer....

I was very brave and weighed myself this morning. Pleasantly surprised. I was slightly overweight to start with though.

I seem to be obsessed with Asian food at the moment. Did Babi Ketjap on Sunday, then gyoza followed by stir fry veg and noodles with soy&garlic chicken thighs last night. Off to the fishmonger's on a mo to stock up on salmon etc so I can do some fish dishes.

We may have bought and assembled the cotbed as well....and a rather fab Poang as a nursing chair.

Ooh - must phone Pilate's centre to book my intro session so I can get on a course!

kally195 · 04/02/2014 10:14

Sorry you are feeling rubbish Squiffie. I think you should see the doctor - they will be able to advise what else you could do and it is peace of mind for you.

Have you tried steam inhalation to soothe your sinuses and cough?

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 04/02/2014 10:19

Thank you so much everyone. I can't thank you all enough for your support recently x

AliOh · 04/02/2014 10:34

Hi everyone, i've been terrible with keeping up/posting lately - I will try and do better from now on. Hope everyone is doing ok. Im so exhausted! Anyone else started antenatal classes yet? I started mine on Saturday, I was surprised how many people I knew there, so nice to know some people that will be having babies around the same time :)

impatientlywaiting · 04/02/2014 10:36

MrsFoo, our NCT classes start at 7pm, they seem to really heavily discount their classes for low earners. Not sure what their criteria, but it's worth checking out. I think I saw somewhere it was about £40 for the course as opposed to £150.

Squiffe I feel your pain with the cough. I had the worst cold over the weekend. I was constantly sneezing and about half of the times that I did I let a bit of pee out. It was so embarrassing!

ThistleLickerIsGoingToBeAMummy · 04/02/2014 10:40

Argghhhhhh I've woke up with crusty nipples hahahahahahah
