All of us May mummies are BACK like the Terminator only less deadly (unless preggo rage strikes and we're within waddling distance of sharp things)

Ome now :)

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 02/02/2014 13:00

Hope you feel better soon xav

I'm home too, been told to call antenatal ward tomorrow to find out what time they want me in for a scan. Feel so run down Sad

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 02/02/2014 13:46

On the bright side, yesterday was me and my mum's last girly day out before the baby comes, we went to London to see Wicked. I was worried the whole drama of going to labour ward etc had ruined it for her - she said it made her day because she got to hear her grandchild's heartbeat :)

MrsFooCough · 02/02/2014 14:24

Ohhhh xav and moomin you and poor alyss are putting us all through the wringer! I hope your cholestasis isn't too awful x and m you and alyss just can't catch a break can you Sad

On the hair topic, my head hair is shinier and greasier (oh joy, it was bad enough anyway) and a bit thicker, but my hairy beast stomach hair is still a nightmare. Skin is quite good unless I go postal on my lovely face fuzz with the wax strips, then I break out like a teenage lad with shaving rash Blush not fair. I'm dreading how much head hair will fall out once Bean shows up though, I used to lose LOADS of hairs every time I showered so god only knows how bald I'll look this time next year Sad

I got home yesterday and I have spent today in bed. Fingers crossed nothing more happens though.

Minions · 02/02/2014 15:29

Hope you're all ok moomin & xav, glad you're both home. Rest, rest and more rest if you can - take it easy. Cake & Brew

Minions · 02/02/2014 15:30

Glad you're home too alyss x

moobaloo · 02/02/2014 18:18

Glad the hospital crew are all home and well (You are all home right? I haven't missed anyone?) stay well! Rest!

Glad you had fun with your mum Moomin Smile Wicked is an awesome show! Lovely she got to hear heartbeat too - no one has heard mine except me, dp is never there when they listen in!

I was too energetic today and my back really hurts now, low down, particularly when I step on my right leg Sad

Hobbling around like an invalid. Shall have a nice hot shower methinks and go to bed!

On the plus side - 25 weeks tomorrow!! Cauliflower baby!

Best wishes to all

Irisheyessmiling · 02/02/2014 19:13

Big love to all the hospital ladies, hoping things get back on even keel for you all!

Just got back from Stratford upon Avon for our babymoon-very late wedding present from carried (we got married last April and he forgot he hadn't bought anything! We're not allowed to send a thank you as his wife will be livid he forgot!) amazing weekend, very chilled after last week's stresses just what the Dr ordered for both of us!

Hope everyone's feeling ok we're getting very close now, can't wait!

rebeccax2 · 02/02/2014 19:29

Gosh, you go away for a few days - and there's been so much going on! I hope all the hospital ladies are home tucked up and doing well now. Big love Alyss, Moomin & Xav.

Random pregnancy stuff. No stretch marks yet, although I had tons when I went through puberty so I'm expecting them at some point. I read that a lot of people get them in the last few weeks.. eek.

I can't believe we're supposed to gain a pound a week now. I swear to god, I'm not ready to get any heavier!

Your weekend away sounds glorious irish I'm hoping to get one last weekend with my darling man in the next month.

Lots of shopping to start doing this month. So exciting! xxx

Hezbean · 02/02/2014 20:08

Glad to hear people are home - rest up ladies and keep well. Moo and Irish your babymoons sound lovely. And glad you enjoyed Wicked Moomin.

Rebecca I haven't got stretch marks yet either but like you say I got quite a few in my teens so I'm sure I'll get some at some point. I'm using Bio Oil (when I remember) to try and stave them off, and I also got some Sanctuary stuff for Christmas too which is really nice.

We walked for hours today all over town and my hips were sore when we got back. I can definitely feel my extra weight climbing stairs etc! We bought our first few baby purchases today - some sleepsuits and vests, a really cute mobile and a rubber duck for the bath which changes colour if the water's too hot (husband couldn't resist that one!). We also decided on our cot but won't get it yet.

The sleepsuits look tiny when you think about a baby, but massive when you think of the size of baby that'll be in our tummies!!!

Baby has been very quiet today and I'm trying not to worry, it's moving a bit but nothing like as much as usual. It feels like it's in a really different position though so hopefully that's why. I'll keep an eye on it.

ThistleLickerIsGoingToBeAMummy · 03/02/2014 08:08

These dreams I have are shocking!! "
Last night I dreamt dh put a
Scaffolding pole through somebody's head after a riot at a market stall!!HmmHmm

dobedobedo · 03/02/2014 09:09

haha Thistle!

Last night I dreamed that I was in the back room of a Malaysian brothel having a giant feast with some really fat Malaysian guys. Weird.

moobaloo · 03/02/2014 09:16

Haha I love dream stories! Last night I was river boating in Africa with a load of Scouts, my mum and Justin Bieber Hmm

ClearlyMoo · 03/02/2014 09:51

Hezbean exactly my thoughts when looking at tiny baby grows. I line up to my bump to see!

Dreams yes very crazy! I now have a recurring one which is actually seeing outline of baby's foot through my (oddly stretchy in dream) stomach when being kicked!!

Vikks · 03/02/2014 10:45

Ha ha loving the dream stories.

I woke up with DS cuddled up next to me and a big wet patch on the bed. Was just about to wake him and get the 'wee' cleaned up when I realised it was me - major boob leakage! Shock

In other news; I've been signed off work for two weeks (high BP) Sad but on the bright side, I've been signed off work for two weeks! Wink

ClearlyMoo · 03/02/2014 11:51

Oh Vikks! I'm just waiting for the boob leakage... bought some breast pads just in case so I have them when required. Also bought some maternity pads in Sainsbury's they were only 99p for 10 tho which seemed very cheap. Will stockpile more and get some different brands before due date approaches.

I'm on leave today so watching Graham Norton on iplayer in bed. Very decadent when DH has been out working since 6am!!

He bought us a dehumidifier which was £££ as we have severe damp/condensation issues in spare room (that will be baby's room) as we dry washing in there when it can't be hung out... Trying it out today for first time!

My latest crave is milkshake I've discovered half a packet of angel delight powder with a pint if milk is best milkshake ever!!

dobedobedo · 03/02/2014 12:39

Clearly, that sounds awesome!

Vikks - I've had the boob leakage an awful lot for a few months now. Pain in the arse, especially when you sleep you move about a bit and the pads slip out of place and the sheets get soaked anyway. DH thinks it's funny and ds wants me to save some in a glass so he can taste it Hmm Little weirdo.
Yay at having two weeks off work too Vikks. I'd love a break. Only two weeks to go and then I'm having a week off for holiday. Not going anywhere, but I just cannot wait to have some time to myself.

dobedobedo · 03/02/2014 13:02

I've just had lunch - soup (thick soup with lentils and meat in it) and two slices of thick bread and I'm still STARVING. This is ridiculous.

NannyPlumForPM · 03/02/2014 13:09

dobe I had a tin of tomato soup and two cheese sandwiches and felt like the hungry bloody caterpillar! I've hit the 14st mark and on my 5" 1 frame that is SO unreasonable! Grin

I have a tip regarding Mat pads after birth.... Because I thought before birth that I could get away with always nighttime etc. This was a silly thought.... Buy they biggest most sturdiest most brick like ones you can find and LOTS OF THEM! Like packets and packets and packets- then more! Not just for absorbency but I felt like sometimes they were the only thing bearable against my poor fanjo..... Can't believe I've chosen to do labour again ..... Wtf

MrsFooCough · 03/02/2014 14:11

Went to hosp today, I felt a bit off on Saturday evening so went to the local minor injuries unit to get my BP checked out. It was 135/87, when a few weeks before it was 111/67, so I rang the midwife today and went in to get checked out. Luckily no protein in my urine so they think I'll be fine, but as my BP today was 140/67 they said take it easy. The bottom number is nice and low, so I'll be ok. Still scary though, nasty headaches and feeling pretty weird...

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 03/02/2014 14:17

Hope you're feeling better soon MrsFoo

Hospital again for me too. Antenatal clinic called up this morning and told me they wanted me on the ward. Got a scan just before 4 this afternoon. Had a trace and all seems fine.

Why is this all happening now? Sad hoping we won't be too late getting out as we have to drive back home tonight ready for the funeral tomorrow. Two hour car journey Sad

dobedobedo · 03/02/2014 14:54

Moomin hope they don't keep you in too long!

mrsfoo Hope you feel a bit better now. I think I'm starting to get to the second tired stage of pregnancy again. I could sleep right now! I cannot get comfortable on this office chair (even though it's a special orthopaedic one apparently) and I feel dizzy half the time. I think my blood pressure is low. Which is better than it being high I guess. By this stage in my first pregnancy, they were concerned I had pre eclampsia and I was signed off work for high blood pressure by now!

Vikks · 03/02/2014 15:09

Moomin Good luck with the scan and I hope the funeral tomorrow goes as well as can be expected. X

MrsFoo Hope all is well with your BP. Mine is the same, really up and down, they kept me in hospital when I had a headache too. I guess they can’t be too careful. Hopefully they’ll be keeping a close eye on you from now on, I’m seeing my midwife weekly at the moment and can see the practice nurse whenever I think I need it checking. Hope you feel better soon.

Nanny I totally agree with you about the Mat Pads. The bigger the better and buy loads!!

Plus my tip for the day is make sure you have a hot water bottle. I couldn't sit down for 2 weeks without the heat dulling the pain (episiotomy). I think we are mad going back for seconds, thirds…. Grin

Dobe So funny my DS wants some too! I wonder if he remembers on some level…

Clearly I now must have a milkshake! No one mention food!

Isean · 03/02/2014 16:22

Hope you're getting on fine at the hospital Moomin. I hope you have a safe journey home and everything goes as well as can be expected tomorrow. Take care of yourself.

MrsFoo hope your BP settles, it's a horrible feeling.

I'm just back from my 28 week midwife appointment. My bump is measuring small, a few cms behind where I should be, so if I'm still measuring small at 32 weeks I'll have to go for a growth scan. The midwife did say "what a lovely neat bump!" I thought I was big! She and the trainee midwife had a good poke around my bump as they said baby was in a great position for feeling different parts of it's body. The heart beat was good and strong, which was reassuring. I love hearing it! Smile
