All of us May mummies are BACK like the Terminator only less deadly (unless preggo rage strikes and we're within waddling distance of sharp things)

I have never been to doctors/hospital so much in my life and I'm having a straightforward pregnancy!

I didn't even know where my hospital was before my 12 week scan!

I am very pleased and lucky to be pregnant. BUT I now have MASSIVE purple-red STRETCHMARKS on my (previously tiny but perfectly formed) BOOBS!! As if the fact that they also leak isn't bad enough Angry

Hey ho, another part of the joy of life!

That's obviously what happens when you go up 3 cup sizes in 4 months Confused

Rh neg people - the anti-d does hurt but maybe only a couple of times more than a standard local anasthetic and it only takes a few seconds longer. My mw told me it would be very very painful and it was a really big needle etc. but I don't think it was that bad ( particularly as I was thinking about how it probably didn't hurt anything like labour while I was having it! So didn't feel as though I could be justified in whinging!) I am not needle phobic, but I do generally dislike things being stabbed into me

24+4 now! Mw appt next week Smile

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

dobedobedo · 31/01/2014 17:45

I have three stretchmarks in a triangular shape on my fecking RIBS! None on the huge belly or ginormous boobs, but three on my ribs. The fuck?!

xalyssx · 31/01/2014 18:25

Good news and bad news here. I had a scan today and finally found out that the baby is a girl.
Unfortunately the reason I had a scan is because I am in hospital again. I had a bleed yesterday morning so I made an appointment, got the all clear so went home. The bus braked suddenly to avoid hitting a dog, and my waters broke. I didn't realise how much fluid I'd lost until I got home, so I called an ambulance and I'm now in hospital with my partner. I had steroid injections and hopefully I'll be home tomorrow.

Minions · 31/01/2014 19:09

xalyss, that sounds terrible - poor you. Is the baby ok? Hope she is and you're ok too. Rest up when you get home tomorrow. Lovely that you know she's a girl. Take care x

moobaloo · 31/01/2014 19:39

Oh no Alyssa, hope all is ok and you're home and sorted very soon and you and baby are fine. Thinking of you
Congratulations on joining team pink!
Xx

mrsmummytobe · 31/01/2014 19:46

Alyss so sorry to hear that. Welcome to team pink :) I hope you get the all clear & are allowed home very soon.

Moo I have stretch marks on my boobs too. Gone up from a d to an f cup & they also itch like crazy. None on the bump so far (touch wood!) I feel like I'm going to the dr all the time as well & this is a straightforward pregnancy too! I really can't wait until she's born as I do find I get stressed about if she's ok in there. Can't remember who said it earlier in the thread but it made me lol to think of having a sunroof so we can look in on our babies!

Moomin I think you must be one of the first edd of our thread! Can't believe you're nearly into trimester 3 - only 12 weeks to go for you!! So exciting!

Xavielli · 31/01/2014 19:49

Hope all is ok for now Alyss. Thanks

dobedobedo · 31/01/2014 19:51

OMG alyss that sounds awful. Let us know how you're doing. Congratulations on your little girl! X

dobedobedo · 31/01/2014 20:05

What do you say to people when they don't like your baby's name? Our mums don't like Jesse, but we've decided on it for the baby. Other than saying "well we like it, you'll get used to it" I don't quite know how to react!
Also, we've never asked them for their opinion, but that's mums for you I guess!

Chip86 · 31/01/2014 20:16

Oh Alyss so scary hope you both contine to get better

mrsmummytobe · 31/01/2014 20:18

We're not telling anyone the name til she's born dobe for that reason. Everyone seems to have an opinion & actually it's completely your & your dp's choice. They'll come round when Jesse is born :)

moobaloo · 31/01/2014 20:56

Everyone's been good with our name choice although after finding out its a boy mil has said she didn't like our girls name, dp said tough because he wants a girl next and will be using it! Smile (can't believe he's planning no. 2 already - I'm not!!)

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 31/01/2014 21:05

No-one IRL knows our name choices, although we're pretty much settled now on Celyn for a girl and Dylan for a boy - we just need a middle name for Celyn.

Irisheyessmiling · 31/01/2014 22:43

Alyss that sounds horrific keeping everything crossed for you and little girl she's had such a fight so far she must be a very tenacious and determined little one. Keep us posted when you can Thanks

LongTailedTit · 31/01/2014 23:04

Bloody hell Alyss! Of all the luck! Have my fingers very tightly crossed for you both, hope you get home ASAP.
Congratulations on your little girl!

NannyPlumForPM · 31/01/2014 23:33

Oh heck alyss- good luck!!

snoozysleeper · 31/01/2014 23:42

Thinking of you alyss Flowers

xalyssx · 01/02/2014 00:34

Luckily I've stopped bleeding and there's no sign of infection, so fingers crossed I can go home after lunch.

Vikks · 01/02/2014 01:32

Alyss Thanks Everything crossed for you. X

And everyone else having a rough time at the moment Thanks & Biscuit xxx

Sorry I've not been posting regular this PG is so up and down just like my BP! I was sent to hospital again yesterday after my clinic were worried about my raised BP. Thankfully I didn't need to be admitted again but I just feel like all the signs are pointing towards pre- eclampsia. I've got a list of symptoms to watch for and must to straight to the hospital if I get any.

Has anyone else been prescribed Omeprazole for acid/heartburn? It's pretty effective and one tablet last 24 hours.

25 +1

mrsmummytobe · 01/02/2014 05:38

Alyss glad you're ok & fingers crossed go you getting home very soon.

Sorry to hear your news vikks. At least you know exactly what to watch out for. I'm actually going to the dr on Monday to ask her to prescribe me medication for heartburn.

Well I've woken up ridiculously early again today! Hope I manage to get back to sleep!

mrsmummytobe · 01/02/2014 05:39

Oops that should say for not go!

loopylou52 · 01/02/2014 09:03

Gosh Alyss, so sorry to hear that. Glad you're both doing ok and get to go home soon. Hope you're ok too vikks. Thanks for both of you.

We haven't told anyone our name shortlist either and don't plan to. I don't want anyone expressing an opinion and ruining it for us. I'm not quite sure what we'll say if they ask directly (up until now we've had the excuse that we hadn't decided).

Vikks · 01/02/2014 09:49

Everyone has been positive about our daughters name, Olivia Rose. I would like to think my family would have kept quiet if not. No one else needs to love it but our DP's and us, sod the rest of them! Wink

We've bought Olivia some really cute personalised stuff for the nursery. All this worry about pre - eclampsia has made DP get the nursery ready early. I'll post a picture later, it's very pink but we love it! Grin

MrsFooCough · 01/02/2014 11:10

Pretty sure step-FIL is going to hate our boy's name, but the girl's name is universally liked so that's not a problem. And step-FIL can take a running jump if he doesn't like it!

alyss I'm sorry you had such a scare, this little lady seems to want you to be nervous until she pops out healthy at then end of everything! She must be a drama queen eh Smile xxxxxx

impatientlywaiting · 01/02/2014 11:16

Good luck Alyss. You've really gone through it in this pregnancy! Hope your little girl stays put for a while longer.

We have kept our shortlist to ourselves too. Being very cruel refusing to tell my mum and sister as they are dying to know. But I find I'm quite easily put off by little things so we're keeping schtum.

Starting to think about the nursery. Been looking on pintrest getting ideas and we picked up a cot we bought from eBay today. Looks really nice, originally £300 from next and we paid £30 so happy with that bargain.
