jessplussomeonenew · 21/01/2014 09:12

Checking in, thanks for the new thread.

Hope all the scans go well - 12 weeks seems ages away!

lucyfluff · 21/01/2014 09:14

Lol secretly!!! Yeah prob not a good idea on here....well done though you must be very proud Smile

Good luck to everyone having scans today...let us know how you get on!!

Just took me 1.5 hours to take DH to work and back so I can have the car and I almost peed myself Wink

jessplussomeonenew · 21/01/2014 09:16

Weejo- not wanting to worry you but I asked a pharmacist about Strepsils and she said not in the first trimester. Not sure how far along you are but might be worth getting a second opinion just to be on the safe side.

PinaColadas · 21/01/2014 09:22

Good luck everyone with scans today x

CountdownBegins · 21/01/2014 09:55

Good luck with today's scans!

WeeJo08 · 21/01/2014 10:20

Jess I called a friend of mine who's a pharmacist and she said that it should be fine - all the same though, I only had one and I'll maybe not have any more! I am about 10 weeks.

Finnable · 21/01/2014 11:45

Just checking in, I should be working but my class has gone swimming. Smile
I went to bed at 19:10 last night, and I've got a reet stinky cold today. Feeling sorry for myself, so might have to resort to takeout and a bath tonight. Longs for hometime

lucyfluff · 21/01/2014 13:17

Which ladies are being scanned today??

HungryHorace · 21/01/2014 13:21

Is it Fizzy, Flymo and Jo?

My symptoms have dropped again today. Really hate early pregnancy. :-/

LakeOfDreams · 21/01/2014 13:49

My symptoms are a bit better but I think I have infected cellulitis on my arm. Might have had an embarrassing break down on the phone to the GP receptionist after she told me it wasn't an emergency. I can't lift anything with my arm and for about 2" below my elbow is hot and swollen. Last time I had something similar on my lip I had to take antibiotics for 3 weeks as it had deep rooted puss in it! I was so mad I can't lift my arm up and she told me no one would see me as it's not an emergency!

Of course it's not an emergency or I'd go to the Emergency Department. What if it affects the baby my blood is it's blood.... What if my arm falls off!! It was at that point I realised I may have become slightly irrational. Going to phone tomorrow and just tell her I need to see a dr or nurse. It's so painful :-(

HungryHorace · 21/01/2014 13:53

Is there an out of hours you can go to tonight, Lake? I wouldn't want to leave it til tomorrow if it were me. Sounds so painful. :-(

Shakshuka · 21/01/2014 14:21

lake if there's one thing that would get my goat in England, it was GP receptionists acting as if they have medical training! The receptionist had no right to determine whether or not it is an emergency. You can insist on speaking with a GP or a nurse and have them determine whether it's an emergency or not, not a receptionist!

I'm sat here at a Starbucks out on Long Island trying to do some work while waiting for my appointment for the MaterniT21 test. I'm getting a bit stressed because there's a snowstorm coming and it's already started snowing. It's not supposed to get bad until later this afternoon but it's starting to settle and I'm more than 10 miles from home (and hate hate hate winter driving). Still, hopeful for a snow day tomorrow :) just want to get home safely!

DreamPhone · 21/01/2014 14:21

Hi Ladies! I'm just catching up on everyone's news, the last couple of weeks have been mental work-wise! Looks like the scans are coming thick and fast now.

My 12 week scan is tomorrow morning and I'll be 12 weeks to the day (or so they tell me). I don't think I'll sleep a wink tonight, I'm feeling so so nervous about the nuchal fold test, I hate the way it's all down to probability and nothing is certain. I had a dream last night that they measured and it was 9cm so clearly it's been playing on my mind...

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Could I please be added to the list too?

DreamPhone, 28, EDD 6th August

ItsSoFluffyImGonnaDie · 21/01/2014 15:17

Countdown I had bloods take at my booking in appointment at 9+3 (3 vials of it!) then again after my nuchal scan last wednesday (at 11+4) - only the one vial this time - but I then had to take that back to the antenatal clinic so the MW could send it off. Not heard anything yet (if it wasn't good I should have had a phone call by now) so now impatiently waiting for my letter to arrive.

PinaColadas · 21/01/2014 15:36

Mines at 3.30 tomorrow, i'll be good for nothing all day!

I would say I'll not sleep a wink, but it doesn't matter if I do anyway; recently sleep seems more hard work than being awake! My dreams were so vivid last night I felt exhausted when I woke up, It was a full night of me being in a hunger games/lost/walking dead type scenario and everyone there was old school collegues, it was adrenaline fuelled!

lucyfluff · 21/01/2014 15:54

Oooo pina...walking dead is back on sky soon Smile Im sure that wont help your dreams!!!!

PinaColadas · 21/01/2014 16:02

It's going to make it worse! Ha. I've had a few frisky dreams too, the first one was with DH but the one night before last involved almost a full premier league football team! I'm a filthy cow Blush

HungryHorace · 21/01/2014 16:10

Bloody hell, Piña, that sounds exhausting. :-/

I'm really tired today and DD is grumpy / teething and won't nap properly. :-(

I'm so jealous of all the scans this week. Thank god mine is less than a week away. Need to get over my fear of something being wrong.

HungryHorace · 21/01/2014 16:12

Ooh, Piña, you harlot! :-)

Which team?!

Feelingfatty · 21/01/2014 16:25

Bleugh!! Feeling rough this afternoon mine always comes a around 3pm and stays until bed! At least I get things done in day but makes dinner hard :( really struggling to drink as well makes me feel really sick. Any drink :( not actually sick but just feel Bleugh! How's everyone else doing? Hope the scans all went well!!

jessplussomeonenew · 21/01/2014 16:39

Feelingfatty, drinking makes me feel worse than eating too... No idea why but consoling to know I'm not the only one. Having a bad day - constant nausea and occasional vomiting to the point where I am really struggling to eat/drink even half as much as I normally would. Planning to go to the gp tomorrow because I can't go on like this!

Hope you (and all others feeling grim) feel better soon!

Feelingfatty · 21/01/2014 16:49

Oh Jess sorry you're In the same boat, luckily I'm not actually throwing up so at least the liquids I am drinking are staying down! Wee has never been so yellow! Have a feeling I will get told off if no better by 12 weeks when I give in wee at scan! Hope you get on well at the docs

DreamPhone · 21/01/2014 16:53

Pina Best of luck for tomorrow - less than 24 hours to go now!

After wishing the last few weeks away tomorrow seems to have come around all of a sudden, it actually makes me feel a bit panicky to think about it...

Glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing crazy dreams, mine are epic and surreal at the moment. Is anyone else finding it hard to drop off to sleep at night too? I'm constantly nodding off on the sofa (and the train...) but lately when I get into bed I'm finding it really hard to switch my brain off?

Hope all those feeling poorly start to feel better soon!

flusteredmumto2 · 21/01/2014 16:55

Can someone add me to the list please.
Flusteredmum 27 DC3 19th August

Can honestly say these last few weeks have been horrendous due to unstable asthma and hyperemesis but I think I'm coming out the other side.

I think I'm going to be doing this on my own as P has been against this pregnancy from the start so I've been trying to come to terms with that. I'm hoping he may have a miraculous change of heart but I'm not relying on it. Oh well. I just have got to get on with it.
