MsSleepy Is your period due now or soon? Sometimes you can get spotting on or around when your period's due. I think this can happen up until 12 weeks (maybe even longer?) as the placenta is starting to take over then.

lucyfluff · 07/01/2014 19:08

Naughty mummy weejo Wink hehe you did make me laugh! I sympathise with flu jab arm they are painful Smile

WeeJo08 · 07/01/2014 19:39

Aaaaah. DD went to bed at 7 and I've just had a soak in the bath Smile

Missvaughan85 · 07/01/2014 19:41

Weejo, I think you could be right there, when I am due on which would be tomorrow, I would normally get sore dry skin on one side of my nose and a really sore dry hair line and I've got it. Threw away all my pads and tampons the other day. Felt great to do that. Just thought yeh nothing for nine months!!! The simple things. Lol. I'm dreading buying those maternity pads though. The blood after is a pain. I remember talking to a client not so long ago about your first poo after giving birth. Last time they wouldn't let women go home until they had had a bowel movement. I remember that feeling well. Think it was worse than child birth itself!!! Lol. Just going to catch up with you all from today. X x

Missvaughan85 · 07/01/2014 19:43

Have you all had your flu jabs?? I don't know what to do about mine, I've never had one before, didn't have one with first. Worried though incase im ill after it and can't work. As I can't get cover for my clients.

Feelingfatty · 07/01/2014 20:09

Miss v I haven't had my flu jab yet, assuming the midwife will mention it at booking in, didn't want to get one before 12 weeks in case they don't recommend it! Wasn't sure!! Anyway I had one with dd and wasn't to bad, made me feel a bit poorly if I remember rightly but not for long!

HungryHorace · 07/01/2014 20:13

Miss, I've had it twice and apart from the sore arm was fine.

It's not a live vaccine, so won't give you flu: www.nhs.uk/Livewell/winterhealth/Pages/Fluandthefluvaccine.aspx

lucyfluff · 07/01/2014 20:23

Ive had it twice too but for asthma reasons Smile

Shakshuka · 07/01/2014 20:26

I got mine, actually just before I got pregnant. About five years I got proper flu. I was healthy with no other problems - I'm hardly ever ill normally - and I was in bed for over a week. I actually couldn't get out of bed other than to crawl to the bathroom. Then I got a secondary chest infection and my GP nearly sent me to hospital because I was having such trouble breathing. It was really scary! I also bruised my ribs from coughing so much which was also agony.

So after that, I get my flu jabs every year!! Flu can be awful if you're healthy and not pregnant but if you're pregnant, I'd imagine it'd be horrific.

WeeJo08 · 07/01/2014 20:30

MissV Oh yes the dreaded post-birth poo!! Confused I got DH to get me prune juice to...ahem...ease its passage!! I wasn't allowed to leave until I had done this (not that they physically checked mind you!!). I think this might've been because I'd had a bad tear & needed to go to theatre, etc so maybe they knew how scared of the pooing I was!!! Grin

mssleepyhead · 07/01/2014 20:46

Bleeding has stopped, so really it was hardly anything, and also still no cramps. I'm really hoping this means everything's ok.

Would you still call the GP tomorrow?

Feelingfatty · 07/01/2014 20:48

Ms sleepy I would...I'm sure all okay but don't want it to play on your mind!! Also probably get a scan to see bean :)

NameToBeDecided · 07/01/2014 21:02

Oh dear, just watched Holby City and I am in floods of tears!! Damned hormones!

ImMarmite · 07/01/2014 21:19

Any of you ladies snoring?? I'm keeping my partner awake with it & I've read that it can be related to low birth weight!!....

mssleepyhead · 07/01/2014 21:38

feelingfatty it would be nice to have a scan, but DH started a new job today and I don't think would be able to come with me, and I'm not sure I can handle the first scan on my own! I'll call them though. Maybe we could make it work.

travispickles · 07/01/2014 22:10

By the way, has yummiemummieuk been on this thread? She was travelling round oz. I can't remember seeing her in a while.

Secretlypregnant · 07/01/2014 22:16

Hi, I haven't posted on this thread before now but may I join you? I had some pains over new year and the GP sent me for an early scan, which was this morning. Turns out that I am three days further on than I thought - 10 weeks tomorrow. And there was this little 3cm long little being, wiggling and jiggling around for all it was worth. And I feel like my head is spinning because there are loads of things to think about around this, but for now I am just relieved and happy and a bit Shock that I am really still pregnant!

Feelingfatty · 07/01/2014 22:18

Secretly pregnant welcome and congrats! I have a private early scan sat, can't wait/very nervous!!

Secretlypregnant · 07/01/2014 22:20

Thanks, *Feelingfatty. How many weeks will you be on Saturday? I barely slept last night, felt totally spaced out this morning!

Feelingfatty · 07/01/2014 22:22

According to lmp 8+2, just hoping alls okay and beans in there and strong. Still very nauseas and no reason to believe other wise so fingers crossed!!

Ah is it your first? Was pregnancy a surprise or planned?

Secretlypregnant · 07/01/2014 22:27

I didn't have any nausea with my first pregnancy at all - all absolutely fine though.

This is my second pregnancy. Well, actually it's technically my third, but I had a really early ms back in October. I think that's why I got so keyed up about the scan today - I was more anxious because of last time.

Pregnancy was planned in a very loose sense - we weren't counting dates or anything, just decided to see what happened and 'if it did, it did, and if it didn't that was OK too'. We have a wonderful (surprise!) DD and I felt I wanted to at least give her the chance of a sibling . . . a bit 'eeek!' about how I'll cope with two, though!

Secretlypregnant · 07/01/2014 22:28

Sorry - not reading properly - really good sign that you are still nauseous!

Feelingfatty · 07/01/2014 22:30

Ah I understand, that must defiantly make you more nervous about the scan. At least at 10 weeks you only have 2 weeks until 'proper' scan and then it can be public knowledge!!

We had been ttc for 13 months before our bfp, we also have a dd and even though we were trying so hard I still sometimes catch myself wondering how I will cope with two!! I think it's completely normal!! I'm sure we'll be fine!! Everyone else seems to cope Smile

Secretlypregnant · 07/01/2014 22:34

Yes, that's what I keep holding on to as well! And I am SO hoping that the utterly devastating knackeredness buggers off after 12 weeks - I mean, I was very tired the first time round but this is ridiculous. I was meant to do some work this afternoon and I just slept. Doesn't bode well for tonight! Didn't help that DD had a total melt down bedtime (teeth, I think) and didn't go off till nine.

How old is your DD?

Secretlypregnant · 07/01/2014 22:37

Ooh, and I hadn't expected to get a scan photo from this early scan but the lovely doctor printed one off and gave it to me! You can make out head and body and a little sort of 'nub' of an arm.
