mumoftwoboysS · 02/01/2014 00:36

frouby how many weeks is he? Could be a growth spurt- they have one at 3 weeks (can't remember ones after that) and apparently cluster feeding is common during growth spurts. Ds did it this evening and has done a few times during the night- I find it frustating and like you suffering sore nips. Sad

Can anyone tell me when bf stops hurting?? I now have grazed nipples despite mw looking at the latch and Ds's suck seems to be so strong.

SupermansGirl · 02/01/2014 00:39

Sorry havent been on!! Looks like iv missed out on a lot will catch up later. My poor little Delilah has a cold and its so heartbreaking:(

Mogz · 02/01/2014 08:31

Frou have you tried hand expressing for a few minutes before he feeds? That might help when there's an abundance of milk in.

Alyssa1978 · 02/01/2014 10:07

Good luck for today stom hope you get to meet dd soon xx

yogafan · 02/01/2014 11:25

Stom91 · 02/01/2014 18:06

Amelia Kathleen born 2:57pm weighting 6lb 14oz

Quick labour. Gas & air as dia morphine didn't have time to work. No water birth as had to stay hooked up due to having continous contraction. With only 30 secs - 1 min apart.
Went from 3cm to 8cm in 1 hour.
Bloody painful. But no tears only grazes.
She is adorable and has dp lil twitch.
So quiet too xx

Amazing news, congrats Stom! She is finally here, and what a lovely name. Good on you to manage an induction on just has and air, and great you didn't tear or need stitches. What a great start to 2014, cool birthday for her to have too. Well done!!

froubylou · 02/01/2014 19:04

Brilliant news stom. And exactly the same name combination that I had if seb had been a she so beautiful name too!

Not been able to work out the hand expressing thing lol. Did try expressing with my little avent hand pump the other day and only managed enough to make a cup of tea pmsl. He does get on when I'm engorged it just takes a well aimed squeezed nipple. And I have huge boobs which doesn't help either.

Has anyone had a good look at the damage caused by the pregnancy. Dear lord. I am 2 stone heavier, have a overhang above my c section scar, boobs will never, ever be the same again and my tummy has a lovely load of loose skin. Nice lol. I would have put pmsl but pelvic floor feeling less than robust and I suspect I either have piles or I have tore my back passage having a poo after being constipated. just waiting for my hair to start falling out to go with lochia and leaking boobs.

Never noticed as much when I had dd 9 years ago. Sigh.

yogafan · 02/01/2014 19:08

Frouby, don't know about you but my BUM is so much flabbier, saggier and misshapen than it was before becoming preg. Who's have thought that area would be a major casualty zone too? I also have stitches in my bits and chewed aching nipples so I guess the flabby bum is the least of my worries...

Mogz · 02/01/2014 19:44

Frouby hand expressing is a bit of an art form, I can't figure it out either! By my Tommee Tippee pump is great, and I'm awaiting delivery of a rental electric pump.
As for damage done my bout of hyperemesis mean I'm about half a stone lighter now than I was at the start BUT my gosh I've lost my waist, my belly is like an apron, my boobs look ridiculous and my ankles are thick as tree trunks. Oh well, luckily everyone's too busy looking at my cute baby and not me!

Alyssa1978 · 02/01/2014 19:56

Congrats stom great news and what a beautiful name, we definately have the best names on mn I think Grin
Enjoy your dd xxx

froubylou · 02/01/2014 20:17

Glad it's not just me that can't do it mogz lol. My theory is that the rapid let down will set him up for bottles at a later date.

My bum is broken too. Ffs. It's flatter and flabbier. And has a patch of dry skin from sitting on it so much. And I have piles. Did I mention them yet.

Stom91 · 02/01/2014 20:27

Thanks all. When I got here I was having tightening but not very painful. They put the pessery in as after 20 mins they had to take it out because the contractions were so strong!

Midwives said they would never have thought id have a baby today lol they were goi to send me home with the pessary. It was only the fact that the contractions got stronger so quick and I wasn't have a break that they sent me straight to labour ward. They also said that my labour was only 2 hours and are amazed I didn't need stitches.

Dp said no to cutting the cord so in my off my head on g&a and in shock the midwife helped me cut it. Was amazing.

Amelia is amazing she's so placid. I'm awe struck.

Although I think I have the biggest pile known to man! Lol

Thank for being there for me :) dp has jut gone to get us pizza as the ward have said we can bring anything in
All I've had to eat today was a yoghurt at 630am before I got here lol.

Ah the dreaded piles, I don't think mine dissapeared from ds2 and I've squired bloody new ones that bleed and frightened the shit outta me when I saw that in the toilet Shock

itsliz · 02/01/2014 21:38

Just a quick update for those not on the FB group - I had the last December baby of 2013!!!
Finley James Drew was born on 31st December at 10.57pm after what ended up being quite a complicated labour.

My waters went at 2.30am, went to the hospital where they were worried as his movements slowed every time I had a contraction. I was put on a hormone drip and encouraged to take every drug under the sun including an epidural which wore off! After nearly 20 hours of contractions and only getting to 2cm I was whisked off for an EMCS where they discovered that the complications were caused by poor Fin getting himself completely tangled in his cord.

Still I'm hospital as he's not been feeding well at all and his blood sugars have been low so has been moved to NICU.

Not sure what's going to happen or how long we'll be in for, but in the meantime any EMCS recovery tips would be greatly appreciated!

Stom91 · 02/01/2014 22:08

Congrats liz. Hope you both make a speedy recovery soon!!

Congrats liz another beautiful name, wishing you both a fadt recovery. Xxx

Mogz · 02/01/2014 23:08

Wishing you a speedy recovery Liz, I think the best thing you can do is accept an and all help that comes your way so you can get lots of rest. Hope little Finley perks up soon and discovers his appetite so you can both get home.

Also, Stom, belated congrats to you too! Sorry I missed you earlier, baby brain has struck me down in a big way, stood by the kettle earlier and forget if I had been wanting a tea or coffee. Ended up having hot vimto instead as I couldn't decide.

Stom91 · 02/01/2014 23:11

Lol. Thanks mogz. Me & dp was having a cuddle and dd starting crying for no reason picked her up and she was fine. Got jealous I think lol

I'll join in with the piles, flabby tummy, wider hips.. DH said I look beautiful but not feeling that way! Have a rotten cold, pain across my breastbone (feels like iVe pulled a muscle although no idea how!) and stitches feel sore!

In not beartng myself up about it as every time I look at Max I know it's worth it but at some point I'd really like my pre pregnancy body back please! I teach fitness classes part time and had loads of texts asking when in starting again, think it'll be a while yet!

MrsShrubs · 03/01/2014 12:22

Yep straight to starting slimming world or something for me I think in the next month, stomach is so saggy (and looks like a tiger I have so many stretch marks) 2stone heavier but in all honesty I'd put on a stone after getting married and before getting pregnant so 3 stone really to lose and I still dare not look downstairs at the damage Confused

liz I hope he starts feeding better soon!

Alyssa1978 · 03/01/2014 12:59

mrs slimming world is exactly where I'm headed too Hun.
