Oooh will be keeping my fingers crossed for you today Better! Let us know if things progress...

Today is my due date, which means I've finally caught up with you all! Woohoo!
Still no signs of anything happening yet though... Lots of pressure low down and pains between my legs and I've woken up a little bit damp but knowing what my bladder's like at the moment, I've probably just wet myself Hmm

Come on baby, hurry up so I can have my NYE glass of bubbly! Grin

BetterWithCheese · 30/12/2013 08:49

Haha-I think I spoke too soon as contractions have died off again. I think if I just stayed in bed all day, I'd have the baby faster Hmm.

As for feeling wet liz, I've had really wet discharge and lots of it for a week now. I've been checked and not my waters, just ridiculous discharge.

Alyssa1978 · 30/12/2013 09:57

That used to happen to me better as soon as I was in bed my contractions started up strong and as soon as I got up they died down Hmm
Good luck they start to pick up again.

mum I would've kicked off at that comment, I still get the were you trying for a girl comments all the time, I'm like nooooooooo ffs we just wanted another child and I'm very happy with my 3 boys, they are so loving.

stom bless you Hun you must be fed up xx

mumoftwoboysS · 30/12/2013 10:32

Yeah I'm going to have to steel myself with the inevitable comments from insensitive types saying stuff like that alyssa!

I'll look on the bf board but anyone have any tips for engorgement? Poor Joshua is having a real struggle latching on and even after 40 mins on one side my boob is swollen and sore. Should I express the rest off to soften it up? I read that somewhere but worried it'll make them balloon up even more!...

Stom91 · 30/12/2013 10:41

Happy due date liz :)
alyssa majorly fed up!! Waiting for the midwife to call to did out what time she's coming to do my second sweep

Woken up with a splitting headache today

Get this baby out of me lol I'm so scared in going to have to be induced. I really don't want to be!

kchapper5 · 30/12/2013 10:54

Happy due date itsliz hope your baby gets a move on today for you. Feels very strange as we are off to register Harriet today and this was my due date and she's 9 days old. Crazy.
Hope everyone else is doing well and lots of labour vibes to everyone still waiting

itsliz · 30/12/2013 11:40

Thanks for the kind words ladies Smile

Better I think I might be the same as you as I haven't had any more since... Was probably just wishful thinking!

kchapper5 Hope you and Harriet are doing well? I find it so strange that 4 of us were due on the same day and I'm the only one still hanging on!

stom I totally feel for you as I've only just reached my due date and I'm already stupidly fed up! Hope your second sweep gets baby moving today.

It'd be typical if I did go into labour today as I've got a horrible cold at the moment and can't breathe let alone put any of the breathing techniques I've been learning into practice! Grin

BetterWithCheese · 30/12/2013 11:50

stom have you read the I induction thread - there are some really positive stories on there. I know it's complicated by your hyper mobility but hopefully if you do get induced the pessary will get you going. When are they looking at inducing? Here it's term+12.

Ooh, just had a strong contraction so maybe they'll start up again. My ILs are on way to get DS so I hope it's not yet another a false alarm.

BetterWithCheese · 30/12/2013 11:58

itsliz happy due date! I was sick in run up to due date, the coughing brought on BHs! Hopefully you'll feel better quickly and get that baby out!

Stom91 · 30/12/2013 12:54

better it hasn't even been discussed yet. I'm still waiting for the midwife to ring to tell me when she's coming to do the 2nd sweep but my normal mw is on annual leave so I called the one that came out last time as she said it may be her but no answer so left a message. But I Duno who else to call I'm getting bored of waiting now.

Stom91 · 30/12/2013 13:02

Where would I find the induction thread

Oh me just rang she going to be an hour.

Yeh I don't mind the pessary so much as I can still have a water birth and be active etc but I'm really dreading if I have to have the drip. That's the bit I really don't want I couldn't think of anything worse than being in pain and not able to move around.

OP posts:
BetterWithCheese · 30/12/2013 14:20

stom Not sure if this link will work as on mobile site but should be induction thread.

Having regular contractions now but not too painful so think I've got awhile to go yet.

Stom91 · 30/12/2013 14:32

Thanks better and good luck hope the contractions continue!!

Midwife came. Cervix is stretchy and is paper thin and very ready for labour she said she will be surprised (and I'll be very unlucky) if I don't go into labour in the next 48 hours. she's booked an induction for Thursday if baby isn't here.

OP posts:
Roselau · 30/12/2013 15:54

better that's how mine started. I totally thought it was a false alarm... I hope it happens for you soon.

stom well it's good news from the mw saying baby should (finally) be here within 48hrs? (sorry I don't remember if you said this here or on fb). I'm crossing my fingers for you.

liz the last few days when you get to your due date are horrible. even if baby's not out, I'm sure you can have your glass of bubbles tomorrow night and it wont hurt :)

BetterWithCheese · 30/12/2013 16:24

stom good news - any time now.

I've been having contractions every 5 minutes roughly lasting a minute for past few hours and getting stronger so all looking good here. Think she may be a New Year's Eve baby unless things speed up massively.

Alyssa1978 · 30/12/2013 16:26

Ooh good luck better I always follow the 511 before I go to hospital, contractions 5 minutes apart lasting for at least a minute and have been for an hour so it's looking good for you Hun xx

stom that's great news, hopefully not long now xx

BetterWithCheese · 30/12/2013 16:41

I need to stop posting on here - contractions have suddenly stopped Confused

Alyssa1978 · 30/12/2013 17:01

Sounds like a stop/start Hun, I had to go get my waters broke in the end as it just wasn't getting me anywhere and I had been into labour ward a ton.....I think they were just sick of me in the end Hmm

Here's hoping they start up again soon xx

BetterWithCheese · 31/12/2013 11:19

Well labour restarted with very painful contractions. Into labour ward around 8pm and little girl born at 3.10am. My placenta didn't deliver so I had to go to theatre for manual extraction but overall not a bad birth. Knackered now though Smile.

Stom91 · 31/12/2013 12:18

Congratulations better
itsliz water broke last night too so hope all goes well for here.
10 days over due here and still waiting think I may be the last one :(

Alyssa1978 · 31/12/2013 13:02

Congrats better brill news Hun xxx

Mogz · 31/12/2013 13:52

How are we all today? I've been snowed under with family and friends popping round when all I really want to do is feed the baby then sleep, pesky people! At least they've all bought presents and biccies, yum.
I hope that the last of you that are still waiting get to meet your babies today, or at least not too far in to the new year!

Stom91 · 31/12/2013 17:56

Just want to say. Happy new year and hope you all have a brilliant 2014 :)

OP posts:
Alyssa1978 · 31/12/2013 20:31
