We had a Xmas day baby! Max Edward was born on 25/12 at 9.12pm weighing 7lb 9oz. I'll pop back to tell you the ins and outs if it all but labour was fairly quick, 5 hours from going to assessment unit with reduced movement and tightenings!

He was born naturally and have a few stitches so a little sore but nothing too unbearable!

Had a nightmare bf-ing he just falls asleep and was screaming blue murder as he was so hungry so he's had a few formula feeds but I'm not stressing over it, he really needed a feed.

Time for a bath now whilst DH cuddles Max (so cute!)

BetterWithCranberryWensleydale · 27/12/2013 07:54

mum I've also had pains all night, was convinced they'd settle into a pattern but they haven't and seem to have stopped again - WTF!

Congratulations Dusty!

kchapper5 · 27/12/2013 08:01

Congratulations dusty I really like max as a name

yogafan · 27/12/2013 08:19

Congrats dusty! Max is a gorgeous name, I love it. I have painful stitches too - sitting to feed all the time is a bit of a chore, especially at night...

Mogz - sorry to hear you're feeling low, pleased you have a loving supportive DP. It is tough, and overwhelming. You are prob massively sleep deprived and your hormones are in overdrive. You will feel better, but perhaps best to speak to hv - better to acknowledge and deal with feelings than squashing them. It wasn't you that was recently in hospital with a fever was it?! Sorry, I can't scroll back on my

yogafan · 27/12/2013 08:19

Bloody phone!

Alyssa1978 · 27/12/2013 08:46

Congrats dusty....I echo everyone else on the name, lovely choice.

mum it sounds very promising all brilliant signs of labour, here's hoping we see you on here soon with an updated name. Xx

stom don't loose hope, my sisters first sweep did nothing , but after the second she was in labour the same night. Xx

better sending you and all the other pregnant ladies lots of dilating, contractiony vibes.
At least one of you will give birth today ive said it, so it shall be so
Grin

Good luck ladies xx

Weescottie · 27/12/2013 11:04

Congrats dusty!

Thanks for advice re Moses basket, I will be trying some of these tonight. He seemed to settle a bit better last night but only for max of an hour at a time.

Fingers crossed for those having labour pains.

itsliz · 27/12/2013 11:32

Huge congratulations to Dusty and Weescottie! Good to know it hasn't gone too quiet on the new baby front Grin

Will be keeping my fingers crossed for you mum, that all sounds very promising!

I'm 39+4 today and now that I've managed to avoid going into labour over Christmas, I think it might be time to start operation 'get this baby out of me!'

Had a GP appointment this morning as I've got to have weekly blood pressure checks now. It's still high but luckily they're not too worried as I'm not showing any other signs of pre-eclampsia etc.
Just got to keep a close eye on symptoms and go straight to the hospital if things get worse... Here's hoping baby turns up before that's the case though!

Stom91 · 27/12/2013 11:40

Huge congratulations dusty
Getting rather jealous of all these babies now.
Still no signs. I'm just so exhausted all I want to do it sleep

1130 and only just got up but I figured if my body says sleep then I will maybe it's a sign of things starting and my body getting ready.... Either that or I'm just really lazy lol

Congrats Dusty

Mogz - I'm very tearful as well but it has improved the last few days, I think the hormones are clearing. Sleep deprivation is definitely the worst thing for it! For me I feel really anxious when ds cries, I worry that he'll never stop but of course he does. Dh is much better at it than me, so calm. But admitting you're struggling is half way there so I'm sure you'll be fine in the end, might just be a bumpy road to get there.

Scottie - I use the sheepskin, it looks warmer than a sheet and helps prevent flat head. It was the first thing ds slept on so I move it between pram and cot but tbh could all be in my head. Sounds like a normal baby wanting to be with you all the time, ds was like that for a week, got a but better, and now seems to be worse again. I'm co sleeping now where needed, scares me but safer than falling asleep on sofa by mistake which happened a few times

Midwife just signed us out of care as ds has regained bw. I'm terrified! They have been so helpful and I love them coming here and telling me all is ok. Going to go to bf session on Monday and hopefully support will continue there. Oh and I have spots on my arm that mw thinks is shingles, waiting for call back from GP

hotcrossbun83 · 27/12/2013 11:49

Stom - sleep sleep sleep! It's so hard to get comfy but any extra mins you can get are worth it! Is it the biggest irony if all that when pg I hated my bed, so uncomfy I was all for replacing it, duvet seemed too thin, mattress too soft. Now it's the comfiest place in the world, feels like a 5*hotel bed, but I'm never in it!

Roselau · 27/12/2013 16:51

hi everyone! haven't caught up in a while as everytime I typed an update from my tablet, it wouldn't post. so annoying.

Our little Zoe Leia Rose arrived on Dec 23 at 156am. She was a whopping 8 lbs 5 oz and 21 inches. We are all healthy and recovered.

I had a surprise labour that started on the 22nd in the morning, but i really didn't think that's what it was. hadn't lost plug or anything, and it seemed like just mild cramping. we went about our day and started having intense contractions at the grocery store. I told DH it was probably still a false alarm but we should get home and pack just in case. we did, and contractions started coming every 3 minutes. we rushed to the hospital. I was contracting hard and very fast, but not dilating, although baby was coming down. My body didn't get time to recover in between contractions why I was not dilating. I was 1 cm contracting every minute. So I took the epidural. the second I did, I lost waters, plug etc and was at 5 cm. then it was a waiting game until i was at 10cm.

I was so scared of the pushing and it turned out to be the easiest part. the baby was right there. I pushed 15 minutes and there she was.

We are so in love with her. She is the best baby. She feeds like a champ, sleeps, and is so chill. I woke up 4 times to feed her last night, and everytime I saw her little face, I just got all my energy back. I never thought I could love someone else this much.

I'm thinking of all of you still waiting. It sucks to be overdue. the last few weeks are really really sucky. So i'm with you in spirit and can't wait to read the good news very soon. xoxo

Roselau · 27/12/2013 17:01

just catching up now - mum that's how it started for me. so irregular and mild that I thought it was nothing. hope it's the same for you and today is in fact your day

dusty congrats. Max is really cute.

yoga i only got a 1st degree tear. my stitches are ok most of the time, with the exception of burning when I go pee. i hope it's just the stitches and not some UTI...

stom girl you must be so fed up. i'm thinking of you and keep checking FB to see if you're in labour yet...

I hear a little one squirming! must go give her a boob :) will continue catching up a bit later. xox

Stom91 · 27/12/2013 17:22

Huge congratulations rose thanks for your birth story :)

Girls I've just lost a big gloop of plug so hopefully something will start happening now!! Fingers crossed :)

Felt like utter crap all day so maybe things will happen this weekend. Not getting my hopes up though.
Will update you if anything happens xxx

Congratulations dusty !!!

itsliz · 27/12/2013 17:42

Think I've already congratulated you over on the FB group Rose but I think a second round of congrats are in order for giving birth to such a perfect, well behaved baby! I really hope mine is as chilled out as yours, she sounds great Smile

Been reading your updates too stom and keeping my fingers crossed for you that things will progress over the weekend! You deserve to have your little one here now - you've waited long enough!

So how many of us are left now then? Me, mum, stom, better... Who else?!
I still can't quite believe we're nearly at the end of December and that most of our babies have been born now! I'm not due til Monday though so could easily be here still waiting well into January... Which feels like forever away at the moment!

MollySJ · 27/12/2013 18:15

Me me, I'm still here! Ddate tomorrow but have had major clear out today and feel v achey and a bit crampy so who knows, could have a punctual one this time (DS was induced at 12 days late)
Huge congrats to all who have popped over the last few days, enjoy enjoy enjoy!!

mumoftwoboysS · 27/12/2013 20:00

Well I'm now to be known as MumofthreeboysS! (When I can figure out how to change my name!)

Joshua was born at 9.28am this morning after niggling/eRly labour pains then half an hour of established labour!

We were out of hospital by 2pm, he's fed a few times and doing well (tho my nips are already sore-sob!) have to go back tomorrow for the doc to sign him off and check me over.

Feels so surreal, baby's finally here!!

Alyssa1978 · 27/12/2013 20:15

Yah mum huge congrats and a beautiful name..... See I told you one of you would have your baby today Wink
Enjoy Hun three boys is the best xxxx

Huge congratulations mumof3 :) and brilliant that you're home so quick
and congratulations rose my 13 year old cousin is called Zoe and I chose her name so lovely choice :)

itsliz · 27/12/2013 21:19

Aww that's lovely news! So happy for you mum, congratulations!!! Can't believe how quickly that all happened but so glad to hear that you and little Joshua are home safe and sound now Smile
What do your other two boys think of having a new brother?!

lisbapalea · 27/12/2013 21:46

Congratulations mumofthree and rose! Joshua and Zoe are great names!

Thinking of everyone else still waiting....!

I reckon Hannah is playing catch up with herself and is clearly on a mission to gain weight, which is great, although managing tonight's cluster feeding is tricky given that she's now solely on formula! Ithink our microwave has been working all night, constantly sterilising the three small bottles we have, so that we can be as prepped as possible when the next demand for food comes in!

I did go cold turkey with the bf'ing and my boobs are back to normal now. Which is a bit sad but mainly good news.

MrsShrubs · 27/12/2013 23:47

Congratulations mumof3 !!!!

BetterWithCranberryWensleydale · 27/12/2013 23:59

Congratulations mumof3 - what a fast labour in the end!

I've had nothing all day. Saw midwife and all is fine, will have sweep on NYE if still pregnant. Can't believe no labour three days after bloody show though Confused.

lis glad to hear Hannah is feeding well.
