mrsbri good to hear from you. Your dd looks fantastic on Facebook, so cute and doing so well sitting up.

twinkle dry retching is horrid but at least you can't complain of lack of symptoms. Grin

BlearyeyedLol · 30/12/2013 13:47

Twinks my initial due date was 7/8 bit it got changed to 30/7 on dating scan and she came 3 days early. Hopefully you won't have the heat wave to contend with next year Grin

MrsBri · 30/12/2013 14:27

A lovely summer baby, winkle :-)

It is a while to go, and everyone else's pregnancies will go faster, even if they have the same due date! Time is a weird thing.

And you can't beat a bit of dry retching. That was my tooth brushing standard practice. I was mostly properly sick though, sadly.

When, thank you! Amy is very cute. Her sitting has been getting better and better over the last couple of weeks. She seems to have got the hang of it now and can even get back up to proper sitting after bending herself in half to reach her toys!

It'd be nice to be somewhere warm, Lol, but I don't think I could cope with the heat where you are. How is DD finding it?

BlearyeyedLol · 30/12/2013 14:34

Agree with bri. All pregnancies go way faster than your own!!!
Yeah it's really hot here. I love it. Dh and dd are suffering a bit. She has a heat rash but on the other hand is sleeping really well- probably just melting bless her!!
She is also trying to sit up but is very wobbly. So cute and funny to watch!

RedRobin1 · 30/12/2013 17:41

twinkle my initial due date was also 10/1 but the 12week scan changed it to 7/1.

I have always wondered if baby will come on that initial date or the one earlier?!

The first trimester is bloody slow but once you are past the 20week mark (halfway point) time seemed to go quicker - I don't know if that's because we finally started buying baby stuff or whether it was just all the baby movements you feel and when the sickness passes and you can finally truly enjoy being pregnant!

You have my sympathies with the dry retching - god! I had a flashback thinking back to my first trimester (shuddering!!!) glad that's over! I don't miss being sick at all Smile

It'd be nice if babies paid attention and came according to the dating scan. Amy came bang on 40 weeks by LMP for us. Clever baby! :-) (Though after 38 weeks I'd have done anything for her to make an appearance!)

Red, are you suffering lightning crotch yet? That's an experience nobody warns you about!

RedRobin1 · 30/12/2013 18:18

What's that bri? I haven't heard of that yet?

OP posts:
RedRobin1 · 30/12/2013 18:19

I have had several head butts to the cervix though and don't think my bits down there will look the same ever again Hmm

MrsBri · 30/12/2013 18:25

It's the shooting pain you get as baby is engaging. You'll definitely recognise it when it happens! And not in a good way. :-/

I remember the low blows. Very painful indeed.

The things we suffer in order to have a baby!

MrsBri · 30/12/2013 18:27

And at least we don't have to look at our own bits, so it doesn't matter what they look like! :-)

RedRobin1 · 30/12/2013 18:36

Haha yes I don't think I can even see my feet anymore! Def won't be able to look at my bits.

Bri baby has been fully engaged - yes fully! since 32 weeks. And I had some pains around then come to think of it.

OP posts:
MrsBri · 30/12/2013 18:43

Impressive...we'd only just turned head down by then and didn't fully engage until the last week. She bounced up and down a bit trying it out for size though. Ouchy!

Your baby seems keen anyway! :-)

twinklestar2 · 30/12/2013 22:08

Mine has been bang on dates on both scans but that's cause I know exactly when I conceived cause of the IVF.

Not long now red!

tedmundo · 30/12/2013 22:18

Happy Christmas everyone.

twinks mwahahahaa on those non existent symptoms. Hope you feel less queasy soon. Myteeth did not get a proper scrub for nine months.

red the shooting pains are from effacing rather than dilating, or so my dishy consultant told me. They are agony but thankfully very short.

Alex my friend gave up dairy once her boy was confirmed to be lactose intolerant and she found it helped a lot with his tummy pains.

lol hmmm sunshine ..... I have been pricing up our summer holiday this week. We all love a bit of pool and sun action. Bristol is very stormy at the moment.

Typing this on the boys nexus7. Hating the touch keyboard. Will have to go back to iPad I think .

I feel a bit daft not using Bruce's real name. The only thing that I worry about is it being quite quirky so might be recognised or come up on a search engine if i type it into a thread. It is the name of the second pope, fact fans.

Not that I post anything too fruity on here but I like being anonymous.

Anyone out for new year?

Ted - like the character from Snoopy?!

kittykatsforever · 31/12/2013 08:02

I'll tell you what no one warns you about after a baby, the feeling like you've weed when your in the bath and you move back for example, I'd be too embaressed to admit it normally but my friend brought it up to me to see if it was normal and another friend and we both went as she said bath I know exactly what your going to say!! So I know it's not just me, anyone else?
Have you felt any changes red? Can't believe you've been fully engaged since then! Dd2 only turned head down at 37wks then was still sideways Untill I was 10cm dialated and turned lol
I wish I knew my popes Hmm

tedmundo · 31/12/2013 08:39

twinkle yes! The blanket loving one!

kitty my poor pelvic floor was trashed with all the morning sickness. I bought a pelvic floor zapper and it worked for me. Perhaps still not at trampoline levels but much better.

Red .. Looking like a 2014 baby then??

kittykatsforever · 31/12/2013 08:48

Ahhh I know who you mean now Grin
I see what you mean about giving you away, it is unusual but I really like it!
Ted, my pelvic floor doesn't seem bad in any other circumstance, I'm fine with everything else even trampoline but for some reason in the bath it always feels like I've weed lol I don't know if I can remember it happenening after dd1 but it's defo there now, I should defo get a zapper though!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasExhausted · 31/12/2013 09:03

ted I love that name, very unusual.

kitty I was a bit odd re the pelvic floor, had no problems with urine but for two weeks after dd's birth I had no control over when I farted. I would lean forward and just rip with no warning Blush
I've got some vagina weights and should really get on with using them, I could do with tightening everything up

Thingymajigs · 31/12/2013 09:35

I love that name too. Smile We are back to square one with boys names again. This is the trickiest thing I've ever had to do as our styles are so different and we know so many boys with the names we like. We will be going down the more unusual name route I think.
I never had the bath sensation but I remember the horrible feeling of pressure after both births where it felt like my insides would fall out if I stood up straight. Shock Thankfully a few weeks of pelvic floor exercises sorted it out but a bit of warning from HV's would have been nice as would the heads up about the intense stinging pain everytime I tried to wee.

RedRobin1 · 31/12/2013 14:03

Zappers and vagina weights Blush
Haha never thought I'd be reading or contemplating about getting myself these things!

Kitty and bri my pelvis and cervix is battered on the inside and when I turn at night I m sure I can feel my bones grinding against baby's head! Apparently the midwife said it engaged so early as I have 'a very roomy pelvis' - it doesn't feel like it though Hmm

It's looking like it's going to be a 2014 baby Smile I'm happy to look forward to it in the New Year...start it off with a bang and all.

Thingy we are stuck on boys names too. We have picked a girls name but not narrowed down our extensive list for boys. It's bloody hard!

I quite like the anonymity on MN too ted don't know why but I always worry if anyone from RL ever discovers these posts I'd die of embarrassment!

tedmundo · 31/12/2013 18:23

DH found my list of my boys names recently and read them out to me with a mixture of shock and awe! I offer for your consideration...

Kingsley (we are big Freshmeat fans!)
Linton (Wuthering heights to blame for that one)
Lynton (pregnancy hormones??)
Rupert (probably on the list due to my pervy interest in rupert friend)
Gilbert (actually, I stand by that one, I love it)

He clearly thought I had been at the sherry!

Girls names were always Pollyanna or Cecilia. I do feel sad that neither will ever be used (unless we get a girl cat next time).

Thingymajigs · 31/12/2013 19:13

I keep on revising our original list too and some of the names are really weird. I'm quite sad we'll never get to use Willow, Lucia, Piper or Penelope but I agree, that's why we have pets. Grin Think we might have shortened it back down to Casper, Jasper or Felix. The boys like Felix, I prefer Casper and DP prefers Jasper but it's better than none of us agreeing. I'm so sick of thinking about names, I just want him here so I can see who he is, name him and get on with receiving negative feedback by relatives. I predict a lot of "like the cat food?" or spontaneous Casper the friendly ghost singalongs.
Hope you all have a lovely New Years! We are snuggled up watching a film. Predictably, given our main gender and age bracket in this family, it's full of robots and explosions.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasExhausted · 01/01/2014 11:17

Best of luck with finding a boys name thingy it took us forever and I'm still not in love with the one we picked (we definitely picked the right one though). I found picking a boys name a complete nightmare.

Oh Happy New Year to everyone, years to brand new babies Wine and Cake for those who can't drink (almost all of us).
