Also, V has now developed quite bad cradle cap. They say it will go away by itself, but it seems to be annoying him, he's often trying to rub his head against the mattress or scratching his head.
Have any of your little ones had it and did anything help? I've tried oil, gently rubbing it off and washing, but it's back the next day and does not seem to be improving much.

Cavort · 02/01/2014 12:31

E's had a bit of cradle cap for the last month or so. I haven't done anything about it other than brush her tiny little bit of hair with a soft brush to get any loose flakes off but it doesn't seem to be bothering her and you can only see it if you look closely. I have seen Dentinox cradle cap shampoo in Boots but no idea if it's any good or not?

MotherOfCleo · 02/01/2014 14:46

H has a little bit of cradle cap too, we arw using the detinox shampoo and its really good, worth a try!

HazleNutt · 02/01/2014 14:52

Thanks, just ordered that shampoo, hope it helps.

Another question, we seem to have entered a new phase here. Everything he can reach is of course grabbed and chewed, as usual, but then vigorously smashed. Preferably against some hard surfaces like floor or table. Do yours do this as well or am I raising a little Hulk?

Cavort · 02/01/2014 16:10

Yeah we have banging and smashing here too. Poor Sophie the Giraffe is black and blue Grin

Mine is violent as well, her favourite trick at the moment is when i'm feeding her she pinches my face/hits me/ pulls my hair. Vicious little beast. She does a bit if repeatedly smashing things into the high chair tray but she prefers victims that scream react.

BraveLilBear · 02/01/2014 17:00

I've been using dentinox cradle cap shampoo plus grapeseed or olive oil and between the two it is improving now.

Ie shampoo at bath time, oil after to moisturise.

H also finds biting me very amusing, and is also in a phase of general obsession with faces - he'll poke, stroke, pinch, nuzzle, scratch and try to eat any face that gets close enough!

BlearyeyedLol · 02/01/2014 17:14

Funny that L also developed cradle cap as soon as we got here. I thought the heat had something to do with it. All I did was wash her head with normal shampoo three times a day and it's a lot better now.
She has also become rather violent so I'm guessing it's just a phase!!
Re the carriers I have a bjorn one and also a mobi sling. The mobi is good but can be fiddly to strap her in. The mobi is great once you know what to do with the baby. So far I have only mastered the 'koala' hold and I like it.

BlearyeyedLol · 02/01/2014 17:15

Meant to say the bjorn is good but fiddly!!!!

MotherOfCleo · 02/01/2014 17:22

I have the mothercare rip off of the bjorn and its fab, bit fiddly like you say but good once he's in. Great back support which is lacking in the fabric tri-cotti one I've been lent.

Not good re abusive babies, think I can happily wait for that stage! Blush

Purplemonster · 02/01/2014 18:18

It wouldn't be quite so bad if abusive baby didn't have two rather sharp teeth to bite me with! Little monster, not that I call her Lucifer ever because that w

Alexandra6 · 02/01/2014 18:48

Wow sounds like I should be grateful S can only give me verbal attacks at the moment Grin

I thought wonder weeks was a load of rubbish as S has def been a rain cloud today and yesterday, rather than the sun it was promising. I then realised your meant to enter the due date not birth date which puts her two weeks ahead - big fat rain cloud! Which will hopefully pass soon according to the app!

*you're

Quodlibet · 02/01/2014 20:40

So we braved the outside world today and took W on a Big Trip into the centre of town to see an exhibition. I steeled myself for first public BF/nappy change but she slept for the entire trip! Unfortunately she is now a grizzler and has sent DP to bed with a migraine from her cries and is busy chomping my nipples off and not being satisfied afterwards.

BraveLilBear · 03/01/2014 00:04

Congrats on the Big Trip Quod! H slept through all of our early Big Trips - was ages til I did a first public feed (11 weeks?) then found myself needing to feed every time I went out til about 21-22 weeks... now he can often hold on til we get home, especially if he sleeps.

BlearyeyedLol · 03/01/2014 01:34

Sat in my room in floods of tears feeling very sorry for myself as my dh has just left. I feel like going home too Confused!!

janey1234 · 03/01/2014 05:14

Oh lol Sad How much longer are you staying out there for?

BlearyeyedLol · 03/01/2014 10:32

I leave on the 15th so not that long really. I'm sure I'll enjoy these last few days but I just really miss him!
Sorry about self centred post. How is everyone else? And the sleeping??? WW says new leap tomorrow. Gaaah.

HazleNutt · 03/01/2014 10:44

Sleeping, what sleeping? Between 10 and 1, he had his eyes closed, but was just whining and shuffling and moaning. So I take him out of his crib, feed, he looks asleep, put back into the crib. Wait 2 minutes. Repeat.
And during the day working on his additional talent - not eating. Sigh.
Lucky that he's so cute Grin

Purplemonster · 03/01/2014 13:13

Anyone else having problems changing nappies? My little swine gymnast enjoys throwing herself onto her front when you're trying to change her so you've got one hand holding her ankles, the other taking her nappy off, your third hand flipping the acrobat back over, fourth hand wet wiping, fifth restraining her chest so she can't flip again...when OH goes back to work and I can't yell for help I can see shit going everywhere.

Cavort · 03/01/2014 13:19

Aww Lol Sad but i'm sure being in a sunshine paradise is softening the blow somewhat. Smile My DH is away for a week from tomorrow morning so I also feel a bit sad and I haven't even got the sun to cheer me up!

Sleeping has been okish for the last few weeks but true to form with DH about to go away she woke for 2 hours last night. Angry Now she's eating more solids she keeps pooing in the night so as soon as we've changed her nappy she's bloody wide awake. Angry

Oh Hazle you must be knackered, are you at work?

OP posts:
BlearyeyedLol · 03/01/2014 13:50

I know I'm being a whimp and will get used to him not being here in a day or two.
Purple WW says this fifth leap comes with them hating to have nappies changed so maybe that's what's going on? L has been a bit more wriggly recently and yesterday started sucking on the dirty nappy while I turned to the side to get her dressConfused
Hazle you really are super woman! I wish I could help you somehow. V seems to be the writer of that song eat-sleep-rave-repeat GrinGrin
Cav I hope the 2 hour special is not back for more than one night! Have you noticed if E had her fifth leap?

HazleNutt · 03/01/2014 14:02

Yes at work. Luckily it's very quiet, most people are only back on Monday.
The sleep deprivation is not so bad during the day, the nights are a pain, when you have just managed to fall asleep and he starts complaining for the 12th time in half an hour .. Confused

HazleNutt · 03/01/2014 14:04

I've become one of those women though. Met another neighbour who has had a baby, 3 months old, and she was telling us that oh, he's such a good sleeper, just wakes up once per night, we're so lucky.
And I though (managed not to say Grin) "Ha! You just wait!"
