Hi everyone, I've just popped back after a while. Haven't read the whole thread - you're a talkative lot! - but it's nice to see everyone's exciting news Smile. Really sorry to S1mmy though: it's a terrible thing to go through. I hope you and your partner can pull together and help each other through it. Sending you love and good wishes.

Got my 12-week scan next week at about 12+4. No reason to suspect anything might be wrong, and everything was fine at my early scans of 6+1 and 7+5, but I'm still nervous.... Thankfully I'm away from tomorrow till Tuesday afternoon seeing my best friend and some family who all live miles away, so that should keep my mind off things! (I hope...)

chestnutmare · 28/11/2013 13:00

Thanks Bumblebeesmum, I am, just hope everything goes OK! Hopefully the scan next week will go well Smile

HannahC1989 · 28/11/2013 15:05

Back from my scan!!! It was lovely... wiggly little monkey!! And had hiccups...! im now due on 9th of june. Cant wait to tell people now! Xx

HannahC1989 · 28/11/2013 15:12

Yes bumblebee my 1st pregnancy was a dream and this is so much harder. I know its never easy but gosh !

panicmechanic · 28/11/2013 15:21

Thank you the fmc people were really nice. Baby is measuring a little big and they are a little concerned that the placenta / cord iis not kicking in properly so will need another scan next week as baby is still using sac. Heartbeat was good and blood flow in stomach. Had all the tests now have to wait two weeks!

CleverOl10 · 28/11/2013 15:22

Drama - my ds also watched that episode of peppa pig and is hoping I have a pig in my tummy (!)

Vickyvix · 28/11/2013 15:29

Yey, congrats Hannah :)

panic I hope your harmony test went ok and your DH made it in the end.

lady I sympathise with you. I would be annoyed as well. There is one person in my whole family that knows our news (not even on my side of the family) and all they keep saying is when can I tell everyone. I'm like, after we have told them - because it's our newS not yours!!!! Maybe that's just my rage again :)

I was just beginning to relax again (was looking at pushchairs last night) and then this morning I had a bit of spotting again. It's taken me right back to being an anxious mess again. It's not bleeding as such, just a very very small amount of spotting (sort of like what I had for a day or two following the bleed I had at 8+5) and it is a very pale orangey brown but I'm so worried something is up. I am 10+2 today and last scan because of bleeding was at 9+0 (when everything was fine). My nuchal scan isn't until 10th when I'll be 12+0

I have managed to get a same day appointment for a private scan this afternoon so am really hoping this helps. I just hope beany is ok.

jaykay987 · 28/11/2013 16:17

good luck at your scan Vicky.

MinaLeeds · 28/11/2013 17:04

Argh! how annnoying for you Lady. I went in to the office today and met a lady who's started her PhD on a very similar topic to mine for lunch. Half way through our discussion, she congratulates me and says that the one and only person in the office who I've told that I'm pregnant went and told her! I was a little bit peeved and had to reswear the friend to secrecy. I'm just so so grateful that there weren't more people in the office at the time as it sounds like she just blabbed it out loud as soon as she left me!

I'm getting a little bit worried about bump Sad Firstly, there isn't really a bump. I've lost weight since I got pregnant because all the unhealthy foods I used to gorge on before don't interest me in the least and I've become obsessed with fruit. So yesterday I weighed myself and appear to have only put on about 250g in 10 days. My boobs are still massive and I feel kinda tired but other than that, there aren't really any symptoms of pregnancy other than the test I took all those weeks ago that said 'positive'. I am currently 11+5 and my scan isn't until next Thursday. Told a second person in the office today about bump after she just finished telling me about her miscarriage earlier this year and I looked like I was about to burst into tears. Feeling kinda crappy now. Sad

MarlenaGru · 28/11/2013 17:36

mina I lost 5kg in the first trimester last time and put on 15kg in the second two so I really wouldn't worry. I had no sign of a bump until 20 weeks. This time I can't stop eating and am too scared to weigh myself. I definitely have a teeny bump though.

panic I hope you aren't too worried. What can they do if placenta isn't doing what it should be?

Congrats hannah

MTMD · 28/11/2013 17:49

We're going to tell DH's twin the day after scan (if we have s goid scan, fx) because DH cannot wait any longer :) My worry is that we won't bd able to tell dh's parents until at least a couple of weeks later because they're abroad and we'd rather do it live than via Skype, etc. my worry is dh's twin's wife. She can never ever keep a secret... She is also known for saying inappropriate things.. To make it worse, I think that sometimes she actually does it on purpose to get back at people or if she feels ignored or neglected.. So basically I can really picture her ringing in laws and saying 'really? They haven't told you yet??!' or something stupid like that. And she has a grudge against me because dh's family welcomed me with open arms from day one while she had very difficult tim at in the beginning of their relationship. So she just loves putting me down and the fact that I'm pregnant puts me in line with her status (it's so ridiculous but she used to hint that she's a WIFE and I'm just a girlfriend in early days) and this would be one way of getting at me.

I don't know what to say to prevent it. I think we'll say that she is not allowed to mentioned it to ANYONE unless we personally give her the all clear.. Not sure it would work though.. Probably not to be honest!!

Sorry for a rant. Maybe I shouldn't overthink it, still zero scans and all...

AuntPittypat · 28/11/2013 18:25

Hi everyone, just popping back on to say my scan yesterday all went well. Phew! Little thing was wriggling around all over the place and waving his/her arms at us. It was lovely.

We've only told my sister and two of my friends so far and they've all been very good at keeping the secret. I'd be so cross if I were you Lady!

Will see my dad next week so will tell him then... I'm going to try to get DD to show him the scan photo and say that she's going to be a big sister...! Not sure it'll work tthough as she's easily distracted! Will probably tell work next week too.

Feels so much more real now. Grin

bellygazing · 28/11/2013 18:29

Hannah I was told if you have any interventions 1st pregnancy you need to see a consultant - should still absolutelyable to have natural next time barring complications but I think it's so they can explain extra risks. Also, my understanding is if you go overdue rather than inducing they book in a section as induction drugs can make contractions fiercer and increa se the v tiny risk of uterine rupture.
bumble you are right, it's more that my depression is linked to speak if if issues which have mostly been resolved and I'm in a much better place so want to get off the drugs as soon as is safe. I'm on a v low dose anyway.
Fell off my bike on the way home today -not hurt but shaken...

panicmechanic · 28/11/2013 18:48

Hi Marlena, thx I am ok I think. The purpose of the scan next week is to see if the baby grows and ascertain if all if working ok. They didn't want to say anymore.

Vickyvix · 28/11/2013 18:59

panic I hope all turns out ok for you. The wait is always the hard bit, so I hope the week zooms by for you and baby and placenta are doing exactly what they should by next week.

I can't find the list, how far along are you?

I asked the sonography today about when placenta fully takes over and she said 12 weeks, but it starts to take over at 9 weeks. I don't know much about all of this but maybe it's just a case that it is in transition at the moment?

Vickyvix · 28/11/2013 19:08

Thanks jay scan was all good :)

They spent ages looking for reason for bleeding/spotting and can find nothing out of the ordinary so I'm relieved for now. Saw the little heart beat again which measured 176bpm and saw beany wriggle about and the sonographer pointed out arms, legs, head, facial profile, brain, bones etc.

Counting down days to nuchal scan now!!

CleverOl10 · 28/11/2013 19:13

5 days til my scan.....can't wait as haven't had an early one and I just really want to know all is well.

Had a rather nauseous day but second day actual ms free. Am 12+1 so hoping this is a sign of it easing up but might just be wishful thinking if it's anything like last time!

PurpleCustard100 · 28/11/2013 20:12

I'm a bit late but can I join in please? :)

12 weeks on Sunday and scan on Monday. Bit anxious because I haven't had many symptoms except for sore boobs and feeling a bit sick when brushing teeth. Apparently I should count myself lucky - but I thought the sickness was horrible but ultimately a good sign... But excited too. :)

CleverOl10 · 28/11/2013 20:25

Welcome purple - and good luck for the scan!

dramajustfollowsme · 28/11/2013 22:28

I've clearly done too much today as I've been really sick all evening. I'm impressed I've got to 9wk+5 before feeling like this.
My ms is not bad until I move about. However once I'm moving then it is usually just to the loo to be sick. Confused
I've got those anti sickness bands but they aren't doing much tonight. Sad
A friend has just announced her pregnancy so is a couple of weeks ahead of me. I'm so excited and just want to tell her! Waiting for my scan which is still a few weeks away.

Vickyvix · 28/11/2013 22:30

Hi purple welcome :)

I'm similar to you. No real sickness, just a few queasy mornings when I felt a bit peaky a few weeks ago. I do have the sore boobs though. The midwives say I have been lucky but it makes me worry all the more!

Hope the weekend whizzes by for you, best of luck with Monday's scan.

Vickyvix · 28/11/2013 22:31

Hope you feel better in the morning drama

wispaxmas · 28/11/2013 22:41

Waaah, I need a bit of a moan. I'm pretty sure I've definitely got bronchitis, and I stupidly went out all day (but saw the hunger games, yay), and now I'm feeling wretched and cough-y and hurt-y and H is away in the UK so I'm suffering alone Sad

I want my immune system back, goddamn parasite growing inside me.

Hi everyone.

Busy day, but tried to keep an eye. Great news on the scans.
My mum, granny and aunt arrived this afternoon and will stay for a week. They will be babysitting DS while we are away. My granny kept referring to the baby as a "she" and said that I already have a big bump Biscuit but she had 7 children so she knows what she's saying :)

I know this is TMI but is anyone suffering from piles? I had them with DS and they are coming back and this is only the first trimester Shock

I'm not sure if there are any scans tomorrow, but if so good luck!

GillyBillyWilly · 29/11/2013 06:35

Just wanted to pop in and say hello to everyone! I've got a friend staying with us til Monday so probably won't be on here much!!!!!
Hope everyone's well Smile x
