Good morning ladies, welcome to the new faces.

It's scan day!!!!!!!! I'm a bundle of excitement and nerves.

littlepickly · 29/11/2013 08:23

Good luck giraffe and any other ladies with scans today!!

I'm 12 weeks today and scan on Tuesday...start new job on Monday too! Will be so happy once Wednesday is here just hope all goes ok!

Cheesy & ladyg - I'm hoping this pg goes the same as my last with weight gain as I did gain quite quickly at the start with the last one but then ended up ok in the end - I put on 2.5 stone but have a feeling it could be more this time especially with Christmas in the mix!! Smile

littlepickly · 29/11/2013 08:23

Glad all ok with you Vicky and hope you get good news soon panic.

MarlenaGru · 29/11/2013 08:26

Good luck for the scan giraffe and anyone else!

Vickyvix · 29/11/2013 09:29

Good luck today giraffe hope t all goes well for you

MTMD · 29/11/2013 11:39

Good luck today's scans! I'm sooo jealous... :)

I've sinned today.. Got a prociutto and parnesan sandwich from pret.. Trying to avoid cured meats but could not resist today. Also, managed to eat all my lunch at 11 today despite having two toasts and a bowl porridge for breakfast. Anyone else can't stop eating?!

SarahAnderson · 29/11/2013 11:43

Honestly? I'm ignoring the cured meats prohibition. I think the risk is very low.

Mitchell2 · 29/11/2013 11:49

Same re cured meats - I don't think that the NHS prohibit this at the moment anyway? I wouldn't for instance have some that has been sitting out in a buffet but Pret will have very good standards so I think the risk is very very low.

Mitchell2 · 29/11/2013 11:49

BTW good luck everyone for your scans!

Vickyvix · 29/11/2013 11:58

Ooh have you all been eating cured meats! I have been avoiding them but I absolutely love them, the most I have allowed myself in the last 8 weeks is a pizza with cooked Milano salami on it. If they're ok to have I think I know what I'm having for dinner today!!!!

MTMD that pret sandwich is my favourite :)

I'm an eating machine at the moment, have already had breakfast and a mid morning snack and I am hungry again.

Lililly · 29/11/2013 12:00

Morning!, I am 12 weeks, and 5th baby, I can feel Braxton Hicks, it is a lovely feeling. does anyone else have that?

superlambanana · 29/11/2013 12:02

I got two different bits of advice in my maternity notes - nhs said Stilton and Parmesan okay, and cured meats, and soft cheeses if they're piping hot, while my hospital says no. Very confusing!!

I have mild pain on my right side, probably around where my ovary is. Should I be worried about this? Has been there for a day or two.

Mitchell2 · 29/11/2013 12:03

I had absolutely no idea that you could get Braxton's so early (this is my first so am a bit clueless!)

SarahAnderson · 29/11/2013 12:28

The way I’m thinking about those things like salad, cured meats etc. is that it’s mainly a risk of contamination (as opposed to what’s actually in it, like liver or wine). So you can take a call on your source. If I think my source has good enough hygiene standards then I’m going for it. The idea of me buying ready-made salad which was made inhouse in the Japanese sushi place around the corner and then RE-WASHING it in my dirty, disgusting work sink seems entirely backwards.

cjbk1 · 29/11/2013 12:29

I've had bh even before 12wk but this is my 4th and can feel my uterus esp over the right, the mw will say how massive I am at 16wk I'm sure but I'll be prepared the time and say "yes I know I'm a right heifer aren't i?" Wink I tried to call for my apt now but no answer
13+5

BEEwitched · 29/11/2013 12:30

Super, Irebelliously had a really hot gooey baked camembert, even though M&S put a big warning on it to keep us preggo eating machines away!

Lmf679 · 29/11/2013 12:34

Am so glad it's not just me eating like a machine! I've already had, toast, some vegetable crisps a whole pot of edamame and am so hungry for lunch! I usually have to get two lunches, have one at 1pm and the other about 4pm, as well as some kind of popcorn snack or biscuits. So hungry all the time.

GinandStripes · 29/11/2013 12:49

One week until the scan but I have given in and just ordered a load of maternity clothes. Boyfriend is bored of me complaining constantly that all my clothes are too small!

I tried on a jumper dress at fat face yesterday and I looked like a sack of spuds! Made me sad because I'm sure not long ago I would've looked completely HOT in it. Stupid oversized boobs. Stupid carb loading lumps.

WifeofGru · 29/11/2013 12:59

Mtmd and vicky is it the artisan bread one with basil. I love it too and have had one a few weeks ago. Have never adhered to he cured meat thing although I am being a bit more cautious with deli meat here in USA this time.

misshoohaa · 29/11/2013 13:04

Has anyone else not had their scan date through yet? I'm 10+5 and still no letter? Booking appointment on Monday and I did chase the midwife the other date but she said to wait a bit longer. I'm not having a nuchal scan so perhaps it's slipped through the net! So frustrating!!

kittygirl33 · 29/11/2013 13:36

I went through the can't stop eating phase about three weeks ago (12 weeks now, had successful scan, woo hoo!) Appetite seems to be relatively normal again now, though I need chocolate every day. Also developed a taste for ice cream, damn it!

I've also been rebellious and been having runny boiled eggs a lot. I think some of the food advice is just ludicrous.

Lmf679 · 29/11/2013 13:45

I haven't had my scan date yet and when I called the hospital they were not very helpful, I called the health centre I'm going to for my booking app and the midwife assured me she would make the scan appointment at the booking, am still a bit concerned as will be 11+4 at the booking so am hoping I won't have to wait too long for the scan. Am sure they know what they are doing though, hope so!

MTMD · 29/11/2013 13:50

Wife, yes that's the one! :)

Alas after super hungry morning comes sickly afternoon...

WifeofGru · 29/11/2013 13:54

Gin I totally get where you are coming from...... I hate dressing my figure in early pregnancy and when breast feeding as I normally have quite small breasts and just don't know how to dress with big ones!! oh well, will be an issue for at least the next year. I end up wearing a lot of shirts when breast feeding with skinny jeans and pumps.

Wispa I am very Envy at you being in Paris with all the beautiful baby clothes there.

superlambanana · 29/11/2013 14:52

I'd love to be in Paris... Actually I'd love to be anywhere that isn't bed or sofa. I'm feeling so rubbish, having only kept a banana down today Sad I'm hungry and yet I can't eat anything!!

Getting so fed up...surely this ms can't last much longer? Am 9+5. I don't know what I'll do if it carries on past next week Sad
