is anyone done with their scan yet today? I'm on the train into London. Scan is in 2 hours. I'm really scared.

sleep - I'd be annoyed too.

riblet - I've signed up to two post Christmas antenatal yoga classes. I know it's not much but will be a lot more exercise than I've done recently! I'm also hoping I might meet a few people.

red - that's awful. hope it gets better soon.

BEEwitched · 10/12/2013 10:34

Glad to hear it, Vicki!

Just bought some chicken livers in Sainsbury to make pate, I'll put it into little ramekins and freze it in portions so I can have the odd piece of toast.

My car was at DH's work over the weekend add I drove up Friday evening so we could go to the Christmas Market together and then felt too rotten to drive it back home. Apparently they almost decided to tow it this morning! My reply was rather unrepeatable, ahem...

jaykay987 · 10/12/2013 10:34

cross post!

wow that sounds eventful Vicky! how exciting!

Vickyvix · 10/12/2013 10:59

Good luck jaykay try not to worry, fingers crossed your scan goes well and you get to see your little bean wriggling about too!

Bumblebeesmum · 10/12/2013 11:18

Great news Vicky !

Don't worry Jay you must be almost in your appt now - good luck!

panicmechanic · 10/12/2013 11:20

Good luck Jaykay and all other scanners!

Sorry been lurking not posting for a while. I have a bit of a hectic week. I get my harm

panicmechanic · 10/12/2013 11:24

Oops Harmony results on thurs am, then have my NHS scan on Friday am and then have a consultant appointment at lunchtime. My consultant has booked in a cvs for me on the 20th- a day before I was supposed to fly with my DH and dd for a Xmas holiday. I have been advised not to go due to altitude so v sad about missing my DH and dd on Xmas day. They have to go as its a big family reunion and really trying not to be selfish. End of moan.

Bumblebeesmum · 10/12/2013 11:36

Sorry panic that's horrible - sorry if you mentioned it before but why are you unable to cope with the altitude?
What will you be doing for Christmas instead?

Bumblebeesmum · 10/12/2013 11:44

Oh I'm really sorry I didn't have a clue what cvs meant. I've looked it up and have seen that it's says no flying for 72hrs. That's really awful I hope you have something nice planned to make it less horrible :(

wispaxmas · 10/12/2013 12:04

Wait, if you had the harmony test, why do you need CVS? What else does a CVS test for? And is it the test that means you can't fly? That's rubbish Sad

jaykay987 · 10/12/2013 12:12

ahh panic - that's sounds like a horrible way to ruin your plans at Christmas. I hope you make some fun local plans.

will you still go ahead with csv despite your harmony results? or is it booked in just in case?

panicmechanic · 10/12/2013 12:18

Hi, I know it's rubbish. The cvs is booked by the NHS and they won't cancel it until after I have had my harmony test and combined test results. I had to have one with my DD although i was classified low risk. I unfortunately had a still born baby in the final stages of pregnancy and that is why they are being so careful which I appreciate ( this is super rare and please don't panic it doesn't happen often). My consultant is dead against me flying or going to high altitude places (but this shouldn't panic anyone else as those activities aren't normally advised against) . A little challenge for my work as I travel frequently but have thankfully mentioned to avoid travel and will explain it to them when I tell them in Jan. I know it in heart it's for the best but I am going to miss them so much as its the first Xmas my dd know what's going on :(

Vickyvix · 10/12/2013 12:20

panic that doesn't sound like fun at all. Would you still need the CVS if harmony results are ok? I thought harmony was the most accurate? Hope you get good results back

Vickyvix · 10/12/2013 12:23

Ah sorry panic crossed posts. That is a shame about not being able to spend Xmas with your dd and I feel for you. Hoping that your harmony results and NHS results are all good. Think of all those Christmases you will get to spend with you DH, dd and new little one in the future Thanks

It's good that your consultant is being overly cautious for you

panicmechanic · 10/12/2013 12:27

Not sure, last time the Harmony wasn't available. I hope not but my consultant thinks it is good to have all bases covered and that there are some additional tests that they can do with a cvs that can not be picked up on Harmony. I recovered very well last time so I guess I will know what to do when I have all of the results in front of me. Thank you all for your replies makes me feel less :(

coldofhands · 10/12/2013 13:17

Hi ladies, I hope you don't mind me joining in - I'm 11 weeks at the moment and was holding off posting until after the scan next week as I'm wildly anxious and despite seemingly permanent morning sickness still am not entirely convinced that someone isn't going to pat me on the shoulder and say "don't be ridiculous, of course you're not pregnant!"

Anyway, I just feel a bit isolated, as we've not told anyone yet - we're waiting until Christmas as the scan isn't until the 20th, but I've just been signed off work because of the sickness so I thought I'd post now to say hello.

MinaLeeds · 10/12/2013 13:19

I am absolutely exhausted today. I just want to go home and sleep but I can't because I'm teaching at 3. Yesterday I was up from 6am preparing a presentation, drove from Leeds to York to give it, then back and was so tired when I got home that I ended up going to bed at 7:30pm and didn't wake up until 8:30 this morning. I thought the tiredness was supposed to be over by now? Where's this energy I was promised!? :(

MinaLeeds · 10/12/2013 13:20

And hello coldofhands! Welcome to the gang. :)

Bumblebeesmum · 10/12/2013 13:28

Hello cold offends

I'm feeling rubbish but laying low as my husband is sooo stressed. He has a teaching interview tomorrow for a temp post. He has to do an observed lesson as part of the process. He hasn't taught in years & they've asked for a period of history he's never taught before so stress is in the air!!

Bumblebeesmum · 10/12/2013 13:29

Coldofhands even - sorry that was my phone !!

SleepyNess · 10/12/2013 13:33

Mina, good question!

Hello cold :)

Stacks · 10/12/2013 13:42

Hey. Sorry I've been AWOL yet again, life with DS is far more busy than I ever anticipated what have we let ourselves in for having a second??. Just back from our 12w scan and all looks good, we've got a wee jumping bean in there! Revised due date of 26th June.

Hope everyone else is well, I'll try and read back some now while DS is napping.

Vickyvix · 10/12/2013 13:52

Congratulations stacks great news.

Welcome to the gang coldofhands I sympathise with the feeling of isolation, we haven't told anyone either and it's difficult being a hermit! Think I will spill the beans this week, I bet everyone suspects anyway with me, I am usually first one to the bar!

bumble good luck to your hubbie for tomorrow

hackneybird · 10/12/2013 14:03

Welcome coldhands

Congrats to stacks and vicky on good scans.

Mina I am still shattered all the time as well :( and am 14+1 today. After a nice healthy week of eating fruit etc. last week I am now back on the beige food with a vengeance. I had a massive plate of pasta pesto last night and it was heavenly.

hackneybird · 10/12/2013 14:04
