Thought I'd get us started Smile

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Vickyvix · 09/12/2013 22:12

Yes. I'm back on the beige food, fish fingers and chips for dinner Blush still obsessed with pineapple and bananas as well though.

bee you should definitely kidnap your cats back, I love my little cat and wouldn't be without him (DH is on litter tray duty though).

Well done to those who have lovely scan news :)

jay good luck tomorrow, I'm on the countdown too - only 11 hours and 10 mins to go (plus the long wait when I am busting for the loo probably!)

jaykay987 · 09/12/2013 22:21

Thanks vicky - you too!

Lmf679 · 09/12/2013 23:17

Bee, don't worry, I didn't. I get the preggo rage too and also have quite trying in laws so I understand how you feel.

Lmf679 · 09/12/2013 23:17

Ps, would definitely demand the cats back!

superlambanana · 09/12/2013 23:39

Definitely with you all on the rage. I am Angry and I don't even know why! Teary one minute and angry the next. And I have a definite bump so my clothes are now all uncomfortable Sad

WifeofGru · 10/12/2013 02:30

MrsCharlieD probably worth mentioning the wanting to eat laundry tablets and drink shampoo to your midwife. Sounds like pica which is a condition which can occur in pregnancy. It is also sometimes associated with low iron levels.

WifeofGru · 10/12/2013 02:34

Here's a link that explains a bit more www.babycenter.com/404_what-causes-pica-craving-and-consuming-non-food-items-during_1186643.bc

Bumblebeesmum · 10/12/2013 06:46

I had my scan yesterday & everything went well. Feel like I can relax a bit now.

Jessie / Jay & anyone else I've missed - I'm due 26 June so right at end for me too - & I don't feel guilty at all wishing my life away - the quicker we get to June the happier for me!!

Bee - hope you have a happier day - & if not there's chocolate?! :)

MarlenaGru · 10/12/2013 07:22

Congratulations bumblebee

Definitely have the rage too! My poor dh. He clearly has poor memory as he says I wasn't grumpy last time. Hopefully this means he will quickly forget this time too.

ElizaB3 · 10/12/2013 07:43

Ha, that helps explains it;
When I came home yesterday DH asked 'How are you?', I was like 'Angry! But I'm not sure why!'

MrsCharlieD · 10/12/2013 08:25

Thanks wife. my iron levels were excellent at booking in appt so maybe Im just weird. i don't crave eating strange things I just love the smell.

Im thinking about having a private gender scan in January. Does anyone have any experience of using baby bond? X

Lmf679 · 10/12/2013 08:27

Congrats on all the positive scans yesterday! Got mine today at 1pm eeek! Nervous and excited.

BEEwitched · 10/12/2013 08:27

Well, I've peed in my little pot and hitching a ride with DH because my car has been stuck in his work carpark since Friday. Shall have a leisurely breakfast at sainsbury and some Christmas shopping before the Midwife appointment.

MarlenaGru · 10/12/2013 08:28

Good luck lmf

Redcliff · 10/12/2013 08:38

Good luck Lmf.

Not having a good morning - puked up this morning and then DS 6ys told me that kids were being mean to him at school and when he asks to play with them they say no. How I didn't cry I don't know. Hope others are having a better morning.

Redcliff · 10/12/2013 08:41

On the plus side I cracked open my new maternity tights today and they feel cosy plus show my bump rather then me just looking tubby. Also got my baby on board badge which is doing the trick on the tube but oddly not the over ground train.

GillyBillyWilly · 10/12/2013 08:42

Good luck lmf Smile

Riblet · 10/12/2013 09:03

Good luck to those with scans today, so exciting!

Aw, sorry to hear you're having a hard time redcliffe - I am welling up just reading about your little boy Sad. What did you say to him? Hope things improve.

Re. cats - I have always had them so expect I've been exposed to toxo before but since OH already did the feeding and litter (two of the very few things he does around the house!) it's fine. I just get the kitty cuddles, which although lovely can get a bit much when all 4 are walking all over you at once! Bee - you should definitely take them back, I bet they miss you (or knowing cats, they could just be indifferent, LOL!)

Mitchell - I'm amazed I can still get into the jeans tbh as I have put on a fair amount of weight. For the most part I have just been wearing bigger normal ones- since I lost a lot of weight before I got pg I have a few bigger pairs (got rid of the really massive ones!) so can go back to them, think there needs to be some maternity clothes shopping soon though. Anybody got any recommendations?

Misshoohaa - I hear you on the cheese - I had a big sulk a couple of weeks ago when went out for lunch with DH and really wanted bacon and brie on my burger. Was this close to actually having it but DH wouldn't let me, cheeky sod. I have runny eggs a lot but they should be fine as lion stamped, and am planning to just have a teaspoonful of pate at Christmas- I brought my mum some back from France and am dying to try it, but the risk there is more vitamin A than food poisoning so I reckon I can get away with a tiny bit.

Have to say, I'm still eating a lot of rubbish - feel pretty normal now so no excuse other than being a glutton Blush I said this to OH last night and he is going to start eating healthier after xmas when he goes back to cricket training (we've both put on weight since I got pg - junk and lack of exercise!) so will join him. Lots of people say "oh it doesn't matter, you're eating for 3" or "it'll fall off when they're born" but I worked so hard to lose it in the first place and I know how much more tiring being big is, so want to try and nip it in the bud a bit now! Have signed up for antenatal exercise classes in Jan so it's a start Smile

Sorry for the enormous posts- I try and catch up with everything once a day but it all moves so fast!

SleepyNess · 10/12/2013 09:05

My mum told my grandma. Feeling somewhat mad. It's not exactly her news to share..

Jessiebaba · 10/12/2013 09:30

MrsCharlieD This is my first pg so I haven't personally used Baby Bond before but my friend who is due in January used them for a gender scan a few months ago and has recommended them to me as I plan to have a gender scan too. If you do go with them, let us know how you get on! Xmas Smile

Jessiebaba · 10/12/2013 09:35

Bumblebeesmum Vickyvix jaykay987 misshoohaa so glad you're all with me on the beige diet! I actually had a craving for an apple last night which seemed very exotic!

BEEwitched · 10/12/2013 09:48

Lnf, good luck today!!!

Riblet, well, they get spoiled there and don't have a nutty dog to content with, so they're probably enjoying their holiday!

Bumblebeesmum · 10/12/2013 10:03

Good luck LNF

Redcliff that's so sad - children can be so cruel. My friends boy was the only 1 in the class not invited to a birthday party & he was heartbroken (as was his Mum). I really hope it blows over & they're nice today

Anyone concerned about pregnancy eating I recommend myfitnesspal app for iPhone. I put on so much weight in my last pregnancy so wanted to make sure I didn't fall in to the same traps as last time. I put on over half a stone in T1 which means I should've known early on I was headed the wrong way but I told myself for some odd reason id put on less than average in T2 & T3 - I ended up putting on almost 6 stone by the end!!

Every calorie is going in to the app & so far I've actually lost a fair bit (I'm overweight so healthy eating & no alcohol when T1 doesn't require any excess calories prob means that was inevitable but I'm sure will reverse!). It also tells me if I've had right balance of carbs fat even calcium etc.

This was more important for me than most as I started this pregnancy obese as I had only lost 3 of the 6 stone I put on with 1st so if you're happy with your eating please pay no attention but it is a great way of tracking your habits if you want to. I've also been amazed to discover carbs is not my downfall - fat is. I could've sworn it was carbs!

Fingers crossed I can keep weight under control T2 & T3 - I'm so worried about it but can only do my best :(

Liquidambar · 10/12/2013 10:03

good luck for today's scans.

mrsC I have used baby bond and they were very nice. A couple of other friends have used it as well and they all seem to have had positive experiences too.

Have a horrible headache. I think I will take some paracetamol.

Hope everyone will have a good day.

Vickyvix · 10/12/2013 10:27

Just had my scan, it's official and we have a wriggler!! The little bean wouldn't stop moving about, it made me and DH smile so much. First of all it was lying face down, then we managed to get it onto it's side and finally after lots of moving about/ coughing/ jumping/ we got it to roll over onto it's back but the arm and legs were all over the place!. All looks good, the sonographer said the measurement for fluid behind the neck was good. I measured at 12+4 so have jumped a few days forward, due 20/06 Xmas Grin

Good luck to all others with scans today.

Great news on your scan bumblebeesmum :)
