Hey bellygazing, glad you had a fabulous scan! Enjoy your weekend!

GinandStripes · 07/12/2013 11:02

gruffalow I had a little weep on Thursday night at the recording from your doppler - was mesmerising, thinking of adding one to my Christmas list.

SleepyNess · 07/12/2013 13:16

We've just made arrangements, telling our families next weekend!! Excited!! Everyone is coming over here, DH promised to do all the cooking :))

Ps This is mtmd with a new nickname..

BEEwitched · 07/12/2013 14:07

Former MTMD, can we address you as SleepyNess or should it be Her SleepyNess Wink - sounds like a fab weekend!

We're off to see DH's granny tomorrow but MiL has passed on the news already, so nothing exciting there.

ElizaB3 · 07/12/2013 14:52

We're hosting a Christmas party this evening, to announce to our friends. First to have a baby so they'll probably all think we've turned to the dark side...

Bumblebeesmum · 07/12/2013 15:22

Eliza we were 1st & our friends absolutely dote on our little 1 & prob spend more on presents for him than we do!

1st day without nausea & went for a lunch with friends. It was going to be a sensible meal but garlic dough balls, a large padana pizza AND a chocolate sundae might equal the end of my pregnancy weight loss!! (now at 10lbs but prob the other way by tomorrow!!)

Ouch I'm full :)

GinandStripes · 07/12/2013 15:30

I've had a headache since I woke up at 7am. It's been horrible.

To make it worse I can't face swallowing tablets at the moment! I've tried rest, water, food, head message, turning the brightness down on my phone, more rest, flannel on my head - not budging.

I've just taken Calpol and I feel like I am completely winning at being an adult!

CleverOl10 · 07/12/2013 16:11

I have a Christmas meal out tonight with all the mums I made friends with during my last maternity leave. Excited to tell them my news but not so excited to a) find the energy to get dressed up and go out or b) eat Chinese food - the only food I absolutely can't stomach at the moment. Not sure I'll even cope just sat in a Chinese restaurant with the smells Sad

Lmf679 · 07/12/2013 16:50

Clever I feel your pain. Am now missing a friends leaving do because I couldn't get the energy to go, also, vom is taking control of me today! DH has gone on his own, I feel bad for letting them down and sending DH on his own but I couldn't even drink water at the moment so it would have looked a bit odd standing there with a soft drink looking green. Am annoyed cos I tried to go and for once my hair and make up went well before i finally admitted defeat so am now sat on the sofa with full make up and nice hair and jogging pants!

SleepyNess · 07/12/2013 17:29

Oh dear. Sorry for all feeling rough this evening. It will pass. It has to!!

BEEwitched · 07/12/2013 19:08

OOoh, I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling great, Clever and Lmf.

Just went to the 2nd work do, just stayed for 1 1/2 hours and had some ginger ale but it was nice to get out and have a chat.

BEEwitched · 07/12/2013 20:14

BTW, may I grump? I took a photo of my bump earlier this week and was going to send it to my best friend and my mom, but then thought better of it because I knew I was just going to get a stupid comment from my mother.

I mentioned it on the phone and she was all indignant - so when my maternity jeans arrived today I took a photo in myself of them, showcasing the wee bump.

Got a lovely email back from my best friend, but my mom wrote back just criticising the jeans and saying they didn't look comfy, but not even commenting on the wee bump!

I was just trying to share this with her, given that she is 1000 miles away and won't see me until close to my due date and this has just proved my point completely. Grrrr.

2blessed · 08/12/2013 02:07

Hi, can I join this thread? I'm 13w with dc2. Had dating scan on thursday, my little kidney bean is all well. Still suffering from morning sickness and finding something I want to/can eat is a right palaver.
Not read through the whole thread yet, but hope everyone is doing ok and resting up.

MarlenaGru · 08/12/2013 07:27

Oh bee that is rubbish. Moan away. I know how exciting it is to have a teeny bump which nobody really thinks is there but you know it is! How mean of your mum to not get it.

I had managed to not tell my parents about the scan on Monday as I don't want them asking and stressing me out so dh told them and my sister in one go last night Hmm He really doesn't think sometimes. I hadn't mentioned it all evening so what possessed him to tell them as we were leaving I have no idea. Already getting "it will be fine" messages. They don't bloody know that. Sorry for the rant!

BEEwitched · 08/12/2013 08:51

Thanks, Marlena, everybody else seems to be excited about my bump but hey. .. That's why I was hesitant to send it. I'm about 15 weeks now and in the last week it's really stayed to show.

Hmm, if your family will send you messages all day, could you just turn your mobile off? At what time is your scan tomorrow?

CleverOl10 · 08/12/2013 08:57

Aw bee I can guarantee that my mum would be exactly the same! They do seem to be the ones putting a dampener on things! At least we have friends to be excited!

Welcome blessed. Grin

wispaxmas · 08/12/2013 09:14

Bee, that's rubbish about your moms reaction.. I'm 14+4 and think I have a mini bump starting, but H thinks it's just fat Sad. It can't be, though! Apparently my uterus is the size of a melon, it's not just fat!

GinandStripes · 08/12/2013 10:09

Last night I cooked dinner from scratch with no help, first time in months!

I was rewarded with vomit at bedtime. A sign I shouldn't cook.

Bumblebeesmum · 08/12/2013 10:14

Bee dw you're not alone - in my 1st pregnancy I told my Mum at 9 weeks & she said 'should you be telling people - you're at high risk of miscarriage before 12 weeks?' - erm you're Mum!! Not once did she ask how my pregnancy was going or how I was & when I confronted her 'why would I? What can I do?' She's a Doctor though & a lot of them are like that (not GPs as they've chosen to be around ppl all day) so I've always forgiven her blunt/coldness - she's useful sometimes

Whether it's employers, friends or Mums if you know what they're like it's better just to accept it & find a support network elsewhere otherwise you'll kill yourself trying to change them / hoping they'll change

MarlenaGru · 08/12/2013 11:35

Yes I will put my phone upstairs all day and try not to look at it til tomorrow morning. 22 hours and 30 minutes to go!

Wow seems weird that some of you are 15 weeks already. I was mid bus last time and right at the back this time. Given how late DD was I am guessing I will be a July one Sad

I definitely have a bump thanks to it being my second. Definitely a lot of it is the lack of stomach muscles letting my bloat hang out! Last time I had nothing visible until well past 20 weeks. I did ante natal yoga with a girl and at nearly 40 weeks she didn't look pregnant at all. She was very slim and had a 7lb baby! Was unbelievable! By 41 weeks I looked like a beached whale mostly Blush

bee024 · 08/12/2013 12:04

Just felt a propped kick today! Sneezed earlier and got a kick for my trouble, then again a bit later when I was just sitting still! So exciting! Was 15 weeks yesterday. On the downside, DD has just figured out how to do zips, now nothing is safe!

SleepyNess · 08/12/2013 12:10

Sorry about crappy reactions! I guess everyone is different so it's hard to predict..

Woke up with a huge headache, all lovely plans out of the window, boo!

Am I alone in feeling hot all the time? I always wake up hot and sweaty and should I live alone, I'd probably sleep with an open window! Also - tmi - but I think the smell of my sweat is different, really yucky, sometimes i feel like talking a shower mid day! I wonder if this is temporary.. silly hormones?

MarlenaGru · 08/12/2013 12:13

sleepy I am like a teenaged boy at the moment. I rarely need deodorant normally (only when I am about to get AF) and my hair is normally slightly oily. Currently I am doing about three washes every morning just to get it to last til bedtime and despite using a lot of underarm I stink! It is horrid. I am convinced I must be having a boy Wink

SleepyNess · 08/12/2013 12:18

Pregnancy is so glamorous, isn't it? I'm sweaty, stinky, hairy, sickly, bloated and tired all the time. Woo-hoo! :) Give it another 6 months and we'll also be covered and poo, urine and womit Grin oh and let's not forget leaky boobs!! :)

Bumblebeesmum · 08/12/2013 12:50

Haha you lot make me laugh :)
