Thought I'd get us started Smile

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GinandStripes · 06/12/2013 17:52

It's good news from me too Smile

One incredibly bouncy baby, doing it's thing! All good. I've now been dated 13+1, so new due date of 12/06

I had a little weep. Was hard not to, it was being so adorably bouncy and wiggly.

chestnutmare · 06/12/2013 17:56

Happy to hear about all the positive scans! Smile

SicknSpan · 06/12/2013 18:02

Lovely hearing about all these wriggly babies on the scans! Good gestating all.

CleverOl10 · 06/12/2013 18:10

Lovely to hear about all the positive scans today.

I've had my healthiest feeling day in ages. After yesterday's disaster with three lots of ms I've had none today. Surely it can't be because I'm 13+3 and officially starting the second trimester?! Surely my body isn't that smart?! Not holding my breath though. Probably back to normal tomorrow.

Happy Friday all. I think lots of us are ready for a weekend!

MTMD · 06/12/2013 18:10

I wonder why she didn't change my dates... I mean scan said 13+3/4. Big difference from 12+4 :-/ I'm starting to think our sonographer wasn't that good... I think I'll just have to invent my own due date!! :)

Vickyvix · 06/12/2013 18:17

Great news on the good scans!!! Can't wait for mine (but still pretty anxious about it)

Liquidambar · 06/12/2013 18:27

Great news about the scans Smile congratulations! !

Due dates are tricky, aren't they? My new due date is a day or two before what I initially thought. I think I'll stick with my ov date and believe this might be a bigger baby. Ds, despite being premature was a above the 50th centile.

BEEwitched · 06/12/2013 20:44

Congratulations on all the great scans today, fantastic!!!

My due date has been adjusted, too, but since they all go by LMP, which throws my dates completely off so we'll see what happens on the 6th of January.

That's partly what made the blood test for abnormalities so useless, they assumed a completely false gestational age.

MinaLeeds · 06/12/2013 21:32

Yay for the great scans!

I had a weird food day today. Eaten fruit for breakfast, a steak sandwich for lunch, a posset, 2 cinnamon rolls and for dinner, DH made some lovely food for himself but all I could face the thought of was boiled potatoes with salt, chilli powder and lime juice. It's basically the junky snack I always wanted to eat between meals when I was little and mum kept saying no because it was "junk food". Lol! Given that Swahili 'junk' food is actually 99% deep fried, I think I could have done a lot worse.

I'm finding that my inherent lazy tendencies, coupled with gluten intolerance and lack of energy means that the bad cravings I get (today it was pizza rolls, last week it was a whole week of obsessing about doughnuts) can never be fully realised. Otherwise I shudder to think how much weight I would have gained by now! I don't know how well this will last when I go to Kenya and no longer have to cook for myself and have a whole family who've missed me and think it's their god given duty to feed the pregnant woman. I'm dreaming of all sorts of food right now and most of it is deep fried. Blush

Batmam · 06/12/2013 21:46

So sorry igwilk ?? really hoping it's not molar

Batmam · 06/12/2013 21:49

Oh s1mmy just read your post, so sorry this must be a horrible time for you ??

Batmam · 06/12/2013 21:52

Oh shit just realised those are old posts, i was just reading my way through. I'll stop now and go back to lying low until my dating scan on monday...??

MarlenaGru · 06/12/2013 21:52

mina we had been off bread for months but all I can face at the moment is carby unhealthy food. Always bloated now too. Hate it but hoping to try harder when the nausea ends!

CleverOl10 · 06/12/2013 22:47

It may be December but a fruity ice lolly is an awesome cure for nausea! Grin

ElizaB3 · 06/12/2013 23:01

Hackney how did your event go? Did you get busted?
Def give Lean In a read; very timely.

I have an Xmas party coming up with my boozy colleagues, that culminates in a cocktail making class! No idea how I'm going to get thru that, DH says I'll have to feign illness and leave part way thru.

Sarah why do u think the trainee MW was scared of you? Curious to know!

ThreeFromDesire · 07/12/2013 00:30

20 week scan booked. It's been lovely catching up with what you've all been doing as I've been MIA these threads due to being super busy. Looking forward to Christmas now x

superlambanana · 07/12/2013 01:14

Gah crapness this evening (this is going to be a completely shallow post!). Discovered that my pregnancy hair refuses point blank to curl at all, even with GHDs, so had to wash it which made me late for DH's work party. Had difficult conversation with his work mate who was trying to ply me with alcohol. Then to top it all off I've managed to put a hole in my new, expensive, absolute favourite dress because I was trying to unzip it myself instead of asking DH and caught my bracelet on it. SO upset!!! It's satin... That can't be fixed can it?

I think I'm extra upset because today is the first time I've looked felt human in a month - I've spent four weeks feeling sicky and looking disgusting, then the first time I get glammed up I ruin my dress Sad I know it's trivial but I could cry!

chestnutmare · 07/12/2013 07:39

Aww superlambanana that sounds really disappointing. I'm not sure about the satin, might be worth looking into getting it fixed though? You never know!

seatfor5 · 07/12/2013 08:49

So glad to hear if the good scan results, fab newsGrin I am feeling so much better after a few days rest no more bleeding and I can defiantly feel this little one move he kicked at the scan and I felt it now I am feeling him all the time lol! It is do reassuring if I am worried I come and lay on my side (which he doesn't like) and with in a minute kick lol! I am lucky re work as I work for dh so haven't had to hide anything only bad side is no matter what I have to do the weekly payroll!

MTMD · 07/12/2013 09:03

Clever, I'm with you on ice lollies!! Have a stash in the freezer :))

I've had a horrible night tortured woken up a dozen times by the mice who decided to move to our bedroom!! We ended up clearing up underneath the bed (thats where we store old paperwork etc) and putting absolutely everything on chairs because we still don't have proper bedroom furniture... What a night!! I'm so grumpy! They would shuffle any piece of paper / cardboards box / bag they could find!

I don't understand how they got here. I've lived in horrible rental rooms and never had this problem.. Yet here we are in our gorgeous newly refurbished house and have a mice infestation. At least I hope it's mice

Morning all!

BEEwitched · 07/12/2013 09:18

Super, I'd take it to a taylor/seamstress and see what they can do - if it's just a small snag they might be able to save it!

Seat, I am sure I felt the little one flutter yesterday - it's surprised me because placenta is anterior and I'm plus-size but I'm sure there was something there!

Oh no, MTMD - maybe put some of those sonic plug in things in your bedroom? That's where you really do NOT want them!

We went to the Christmas market yesterday, 2 hours of Christmas shopping and I'm knackered this morning. I'm back to having really vivid dreams, so sleep isn't great.

I did have a wee bit of mulled wine yesterday, but it went straight to my legs, bah. Don't think I'll do that again.

Lmf679 · 07/12/2013 10:07

Morning everyone! I've got a friends leaving do today, they are leaving the country for good so it's a big thing, got to start thinking of excuses on why I'm not drinking, thinking of maybe going for the old 'I'm on antibiotics' excuse.

thegruffalow · 07/12/2013 10:14

WOW! yay for bouncy a bean, Gin! so happy to hear this :]

massive congrats to everyone who had their scans too! im so excited for my one in 2 weeks time and this time my partner can come along with me so we can see him/her.

im currently 10weeks and 5 days and recently bought myself a fetal doppler and after hours of trying to find my little one, finally found out where s/he hangs out. puking has stopped but still nauseated at times.

cjbk1 · 07/12/2013 10:27

MTMD we got mice in our nice newly refurnished rental too and they made so much bloody noise in the loft I was convinced it was 'a large mammal ripping the wood apart' the pest controller said they can get thru a 6mm gap but don't co-exist with rats (silver lining?) when we bought this house the two+ cats had left fleas! Confused

bellygazing · 07/12/2013 10:30

Had my scan this morning and I am pleased to report everything was fibe! I honestly didn't believe there was a live baby in there until I saw it on the screen, dancing, waving its hands aaround etc. So different to DD who was asleep during her 12 wk scan. So happy! Due date changed to 18th June. Telling my parents tonight. :-)
