Thought I'd get us started Smile

Just saw that your scan was ok clever (we are a talkative bunch!) congrats

BEEwitched · 03/12/2013 23:01

Our grocery order tonight consisted to 80% out of fruits and fruit juice. Can't wait to make a ginormous bowl of fruit salad tomorrow.

We're both really thirsty all the time but we've from a really damp and clammy house to a really dry and modern one with great energy rating so I think it's the change in humidity. But I just don't like anything but fruit juice (maybe diluted with some sparkling water) at the moment.

superlambanana · 03/12/2013 23:27

There are worse things to crave BEEwitched!

My scan is a week and a half away. I am utterly terrified. I think I'm expecting the worst and I don't know why, and it's really starting to stress me out. Sad

Vickyvix · 03/12/2013 23:32

super I'm getting anxious too, I think it's normal to feel like this. I can't remember if it's your first or not? It is for me and everything is so unknown and I struggle with not knowing it will be ok etc.

I'm Just trying to keep busy and wish the days away.

I'm so scared I will get bad news as have not really had morning sickness which seems really unusual based on this thread. Midwife says it is ok but it's freaking me out!

Statistically the odds are in your favour so try and stay positive and keep busy to make time go quicker - easier Sao than done I know!

Vickyvix · 03/12/2013 23:33

Err Sao = said

jaykay987 · 04/12/2013 05:49

Twins? Congratulations!!

I'm still in the beige food stage.....can't wait to be able to manage some fruit! My bean must be getting very unhealthy!

FX for today's scans.

MTMD · 04/12/2013 07:08

Morn

MTMD · 04/12/2013 07:14

Morning all

Still in bed although I should be leaving in a minute.. Woke up with the headache so taking it easy this morning. But will do my best to make it in.

Brown/black spotting gave way to darkish blood yesterday night... Not much but... I really want someone to give me a proper gynaecological check, I'm so paranoid it's some kind of inflammation/infection that might travel all the way to the uterus or that my cervix is failing.. Annoyingly, I'm in between GPs so might ring mw and ask to see someone..? Not sure she'll understand, though, they're so hands-off-fannys here :)

Sorry to be repeating myself over and over!!

Good luck with scans today!! Lots of wriggly babies I hope! Xx

ElizaB3 · 04/12/2013 07:50

MTMD - I wouldn't give up until you have the reassurance or answers you need, so I would call your MW, or if it were me would consider seeing someone privately. I know you shouldn't have to but I would see it as a good investment for peace of mind. (Look at how many of us pay for early scans!).

VickyVix - I haven't been sick once (sorry to those who have!), we are just very lucky to be in the 'don't have Morning sickness' minority!

Pickly - very sorry to hear your news, wish u luck for the future

GinandStripes · 04/12/2013 07:51

I know I shouldn't laugh BUT "hands-off-fannys" is hilariously good.

ElizaB3 · 04/12/2013 07:52

Hackney - So (just to confirm) you are due 9.6.14 too? :)

BEEwitched · 04/12/2013 07:58

MTMD couldn't you give your old gp practice a call? When I told our community Midwife that I had moved she told me not to rush into changing GP and just come to her clinic still.

Definitely try and give your midwife a ring.

hackneybird · 04/12/2013 08:09

Eliza yes I am! According to private scan place, anyway. Hope the hospital don't change it when I have my anomaly scan which will on or around 27th Jan.

hackneybird · 04/12/2013 08:10

Anyone else have a scan today? I've lost track.

BEEwitched · 04/12/2013 08:12

Super, does this mean I can forgot about the incident in Monday when I couldn't face eating dinner and then got up at 11pm because I was starving and baked some cookies?

CleverOl10 · 04/12/2013 09:06

Argh just weighed myself and I've lost half a stone since getting pregnant. Normally I'd be dancing with happiness as am overweight and struggle to lose any but surely I should be putting it on right now?! Hmmmm. Hmm

Good luck to anyone with scans today. Grin

jaykay987 · 04/12/2013 09:24

I wouldn't worry too much Clever. As long as you are not actively trying to reduce your eating in order to lose weight - I think it is fairly common for early weight loss in the first trimester especially given how faddy we all are with food and how sick people can be.

(In the meantime I am just jealous as the carb heavy beige diet I am currently sticking to is not being loved by my already overweight body!

Riblet · 04/12/2013 09:43

Thanks all - slowly sinking in a bit more!

Good luck for your scans/appointments Liquid and Carrot. Super and Vicky - think it's natural to fear the worst, I know I did, but in all likelihood all will be fine. I wonder if 'thinking the worst' is a defence mechanism to protect us from being absolutely crushed if there is bad news? Vicky- I've read MS is often much worse with twins but I only had about 5 weeks of nausea and headaches and although that wasn't nice at all, I was only sick a couple of times and it had pretty much gone by week 11, so as Eliza says, it varies and some people are just lucky.

Saying that, the beige stodge is still featuring heavily in my diet, although fruit juice and fizzy water has definitely made an appearance and I can face normal meals and veg again. Can even be in the same room as a cup of coffee now, although still can't bring myself to drink it again yet. I did read something last night that made my day - apparently if you're BFing twins you should eat up to 4000 calories a day Grin I suspect that's an exaggeration but would be nice to have a bit of help to lose what will no doubt be a fair amount of weight! Speaking of which, Clever - have you been sick in the early weeks? Anything else that could explain it? I don't think they expect you to gain until a bit later on but if you're losing for no reason might be worth seeing someone. A friend of mine lost about the same in her first 12 weeks purely because she'd stopped drinking wine, but then she did drink a fair bit!

MTMD, hope you manage to see you MW and all is well.

Sorry for the enormous post- things move fast on here!

CleverOl10 · 04/12/2013 10:11

Weight loss definitely due to bad ms and no appetite. Hoping now I'm heading into second trimester things will improve but if weight loss continues will bring it up with mw. Thanks Rib.

superlambanana · 04/12/2013 10:13

Vicky yes it's my first. If it makes you feel better none of my friends who have children had any ms at all lucky sods

dramajustfollowsme · 04/12/2013 10:29

I have mw appt today and now going to have to take dd with me. Not ideal as I'll be getting blood tests but my mil is ill and no-one else can help at such short notice. Just hope my 2yo whirlwind behaves.

Vickyvix · 04/12/2013 11:02

Hope dd behaves drama

Thanks eliza and super it's good to know others have not had MS too. I feel like a bit of a fraud! But assuming all is ok in there I will also feel very lucky, it's just unnerving.

MTMD I would definitely speak with your midwife first to request a cervical check and if that fails book one with GP - don't give up until you have had one. It is understandable that you are concerned and especially since you have experienced bleeding they should be checking you out properly. It was pretty much the first thing they did at A&E for me. I'm also london bit guess different trusts do different things. Good luck.

So a colleague has come into work today coughing and spluttering everywhere, she sounds awful and says it is suspected bronchitis - I am trying to keep as far away as possible, I really want to go home to my nice germ free house!!!

ZingSweetPea · 04/12/2013 11:05

morning all - just want to say I'm on the July bus and really jealous of you all!
I can't wait for scan and would love to see the back of the 1st trimester!

good luck with your scans!

CleverOl10 · 04/12/2013 11:11

hey all. If anyone has the mothercare app (its free) there is a one day 50% off sale on change bags. I've ordered two as I couldn't decide Blush

LadyGoneGaga · 04/12/2013 11:23

AuntPittypat if you PM me your email address I can add you to the FB group. Also anyone else dithering about it, it is a completely secret group and won't show in any of your friends newsfeeds etc. It quite quiet at the mo but a good place to share photos/scans/bumps and babies of course later on.

Clever you are lucky, don't worry, you'll probs make up for it in the second trim when you are feeling better. Unfortunately the only thing that helps the all day nausea for me is all day grazing and so I have gained 10lbs already in 10 weeks. I really want to avoid the 5 stone gain that I managed last time if possible! Need to get out running again when tiredness/nausea eases.

Still 9 days until my scan. Boo. I need clearance to tell soon as bump is hard to disguise.
