pickly not prickly Blush

wispaxmas · 03/12/2013 09:48

Magpie, how can you go from a 36 to 42 band size?! Surely your rib cage can't possibly expand that much. I've heard most women go up a single band size, are you sure you're not more like a 38GG? I've stayed my normal bra size so far, but my sister assures me this won't be the case when the milk comes in. But then, I'm already a 34HH, so I'm with you on the comedy knockers front.

pussycat welcome!

prickly, I'm so so so sorry, but very impressed with your outlook. Good luck in future, and I hope you get another sticky one soon.

Oh Pickly I'm so sorry to hear that. You sound very brave. Hope you recover in all respects Thanks

Welcome to pussycat- I'm on no. 3 too, there are a few of us with a couple of dc already. There is a list somewhere- most up-to-date maybe towards the end on the last thread- ad yourself on to our merry throng!

Am unerringly emotional at the moment- just blabbed over the anchor spread advert. Silly moo.

Good luck all with scans x

SicknSpan · 03/12/2013 09:53

Unerringly emotional? Not sure what that was supposed to say but it wasn't unerringly.

superlambanana · 03/12/2013 09:56

I'm so sorry pickly Thanks

cheesysmile · 03/12/2013 10:14

Oh pickly im so so sorry Flowers

Not been posting much recently mainly coz I've just been feeling so poorly. Finally gave in and have taken a couple of days off work to rest which I think is what I need. Feeling better than I was and got a full nights sleep last night for first time in what seems like weeks.

Was wondering those who have gone up bra sizes did you get measured somewhere or just try a few on?

We've told most people now but there is still something surreal about it all. I think I need a proper bump for it to really sink in!

LadyGoneGaga · 03/12/2013 10:34

I'm so, so sorry Pickly. I think missed mc's are particularly cruel. I hope that everything is as straightforward as it can be and give your little girl lots of extra cuddles for the next few weeks. Take care Thanks

I have both kids home today with cough/colds and one with toothache as well. I will be fearing for my sanity by the end of the day!

BEEwitched · 03/12/2013 10:35

Pickly, I'm so sorry to hear that - take care of yourself.

Welcome to the fold pussycat!

Sick, I spent most of the weekend crying, it's better now but I'm still overly emotional.

I have both my work Christmas dos this week which will be weird because I've been off sick since the end of October. I just hope I don't fall asleep halfway through.

Oh, and I need new bras, desperately, I was a 42G to start with and I can't stand wired bras anymore!

GinandStripes · 03/12/2013 10:56

Oh Pickly I'm so sorry - Thanks

hackneybird · 03/12/2013 11:15

Pickly my deepest commiserations. I have had 2 mmcs. One before DS and one after and they were both very sad experiences. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Welcome pussycat.

noseymcposey · 03/12/2013 13:02

So, so sorry to hear that Pickly. You do sound very brave, I hope you have some time to take care of yourself xx

I haven't posted for a couple of threads as just been feeling tooo ill. Have had a coughing virus and now bronchitis but it's been going on for weeks and weeks and I've pulled all the muscles in my back from coughing and have just generally been proper miserable!

However, it's nice catching up with all your news. We were talking about maternity leave (about 10 pages ago now!) and I went off 3 weeks before due date with DS BUT as is relatively normal for a first went 2 weeks over so ended up being at home for 5 weeks and was bored. Not sure what I'd do this time...

Had my 12 week scan, and my EDD is now 7th June. I have an exam on the 6th June and my birthday is the 8th.... Going to be a busy week! I thought I'd timed trying to miss my exam date but totally forgot that you are already 4 weeks pg when you get your BFP so cocked that one right up! Also did not expect to get pg on the first go after it took 9 months with DS Blush In reality I think I'll need to withdraw from my course which is such a shame.

CleverOl10 · 03/12/2013 13:14

Hi all. My scan went really well. A very wriggly baby! Had EDD changed by one day to 10 June.

Unfortunately on the way home got the call to say DS is being sick so now got two days of poorly child. Not great when I'm so sickly too. We'll be sharing the sick bowl!

Riblet · 03/12/2013 14:29

Hello all, can I join you? Been lurking for a couple of days but didn't want to post until I'd had my 12 week scan yesterday. Was a little worried because most of my symptoms had practically disappeared and I had started to think the worst or maybe that I'd dreamt it all, but the scan confirmed that there is a healthy baby 2 healthy babies in there Shock One thing I was NOT expecting was twins! Over the moon but still not taken it all in yet. Due date has been changed from 15th to 11th June but as the sonographer said, with twins things like dates go out of the window!

Sorry to hear of those with bad news, take care all.

superlambanana · 03/12/2013 14:34

Wow Riblet, I bet that was a surprise! Congratulations Smile

Great news Clever Smile

noseymcposey · 03/12/2013 14:39

Double congratulations Riblet! Will they be your first/second? Are they identical/non identical? Twins is very exciting news, although a little daunting I expect!

Riblet · 03/12/2013 14:49

Thank you both! Yep, this is my first pregnancy. Apparently they have separate sacs so although more likely to be non-identical but there's a possibility they could be identical. Very exciting but I keep having minor panics when I realise what we'll need, like a buggy the size of a 747. Nah, will be fine I'm sure, just need to do a lot of research and preparation!

Any other multiples on here? Haven't spotted anyone mention it but have only skimmed some pages.

Nosey - sorry to hear you've been ill, and about your exam. Will you be able to retake it or redo the course? I'm thinking about mat leave too as I told my boss today (he was almost more excited than me!) - don't want to go too early and 'waste' it but also likely to be huge and knackered earlier plus as I said, they could arrive at any time so not sure when to go. Think we'll just have to see how it goes.

GinandStripes · 03/12/2013 14:52

oooh Riblet Welcome and What news! Do twins run in your family?

Clever yay for good scan but boo for sick DS. x

WifeofGru · 03/12/2013 14:56

So so sorry pickly

nosey wait and see about your course. I had an exam 12 days after my DD1 was born and somehow managed to sit and pass it. I made up my mind that it would be easier revising before she was born and would be so much harder resitting and studying with a four month old. I did as much prep as I could before she was born and hoped that she wasn't born the day before or day of the exam. Thankfully she arrived 12 days before and I did a very minimal amount of work in those last days before the exam. exam was 90 minutes so was able to get up early feed and let DH walk with her til after the exam was over.

WifeofGru · 03/12/2013 14:59

Welcome riblet I think you are the first on the thread with twins. How exciting/daunting!!

SarahAnderson · 03/12/2013 15:15

Wow. WifeofGru that is really impressive stuff.

Riblet · 03/12/2013 15:16

Thanks Gin and Gru! Nope, no twins at all on either side, which is partly why it came as such as shock! Always loved the idea of twins but never thought I'd have them, nor properly considered of the reality of it, agghhhrrr! Wink

Riblet · 03/12/2013 15:18

I agree with Sarah - wow! That takes some dedication Gru!

MTMD · 03/12/2013 15:22

Riblet, double c

MTMD · 03/12/2013 15:25

Oops

Double congratulations! We have twins running in both sides of family so DH was very hopeful (he's a twin himself and they have a wonderful relationship) but its one baby and a huge relief for me. Having said that, MIL always says twin were much easier than a single baby!!
