Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BEEwitched · 30/11/2013 16:25

I'm not sure what the 'official' threshold is but at the private clinic I went to for my Nuchal they say they don't recommend any further tests as long as the result is better than 1:250.

Super, cuddle up for the evening!

Mitchell2 · 30/11/2013 16:33

Ah bee I didn't realise it was private. They should have called you.

super I second the idea of cuddling up for the evening! and also interested in bra options. I think I'm up to an f cup and they freaking hurt!!

GinandStripes · 30/11/2013 17:01

Feeling shit... AGAIN! 11+5 today, I'm hoping my morning (hahahaha) sickness is getting worse as one final send off!

MinaLeeds · 30/11/2013 17:29

I ended up getting maternity bras from M&S. Yes they aren't particularly attractive. But I think the fact that my boobs are 3 cup sizes larger makes up for the lack of sexy bras as far as DH is concerned. Wink I got two plain all-in-one type cotton ones for sleeping (SO comfy!) and 2 T-Shirt bras for wearing out (they have a little bow on them and are utilitarian but not unattractive). Went to loads of shops in Leeds City Centra to try and find maternity clothes and none of them stock them in store! Debenhams came to the rescue in the end. I have been pretty much living in them. There's still waaaay more jeans than there is belly so I have to wear them with a belt though. I take it eventually the bump will stop them from falling down? lol!

Lmf679 · 30/11/2013 17:49

Asos have some nice maternity bras, I got three different ones and they are all good. I really wanted the Elle macpherson ones but they didn't have my size, probably best as they were the most expensive!

WifeofGru · 30/11/2013 18:09

Maternity wear is grim. And so much of it is polyester/viscose. Apart from maternity jeans, I am going to try and use tops I have for a while and then just size up in normal clothes. I have a few pieces from Gap from last pregnancy (black jersey skirt and black cotton 7/8 trousers for work in the summer) which are reasonably good quality.

wispaxmas · 30/11/2013 18:49

Bee, I'm in complete agreement with you - the stuff they sent out after the nuchal scan was rubbish. I had my mother in law open it to read me the results over skype since we're not in the uk and I wanted to now ASAP, and she almost went cross-eyed, and she was a nurse! Luckily we had good results, though (1:13000), so I wasn't too bothered about puzzling our what contributed to that, but if they had been higher I'd have definitely been concerned and confused by it all.

Hi have been lurking on this thread for weeks as having 2 MCs and being "cough" 42 has made me very nervous but having a very positive scan this week has given me the confidence that this pregnancy is on the right path hence finally joining in and am so delighted to be able to do so.

I am 12+2 so due on June 12th. I also went maternity shopping today - after 3 hours I managed one dress and 3 bras all from mothercare. I feel some on line shopping coming on. Was very interested to read that some of you are loving Gap jeans - will check them out.

Vickyvix · 30/11/2013 23:41

Welcome redcliff great news on your scan :)

I had a look for maternity clothes today and was so disappointed, most shops didn't have any and what I did find was grim. I have my top shop maternity jeans which are v comfy, think I'm going to have to check out Gap.

Was looking for a dress for an upcoming work do but everything I tried on looked frumpy, not fun!

typhoonsmum · 30/11/2013 23:49

12 week scan yesterday shows one healthy and active baby. I am officially 12+1 today. EDD 13 June

Redcliff · 30/11/2013 23:53

Thanks for the welcome and I feel your pain. Just looking online and there is some nice stuff on e bay - new as well as pre loved but I do like to try things on. The gap USA site had a much wider range than the uk site but need to work out if shipping costs are worth it.

Redcliff · 30/11/2013 23:54

Typhoo - well done on your scan - it's such a wonderful feeling isn't it!

littlepickly · 30/11/2013 23:59

Welcome redcliff and great news on scan typhoon.

I too have been maternity clothes shopping today which was hopeless I didn't realise that virtually nobody stocks in store!! H&M was my fave in last pg but their stuff today was a bad small selection! I had a mini meltdown tonight (hormones Blush) as we had a party and I had nothing to wear - waaaa! I don't have a glam wardrobe at the best of times but nothing fits properly now and anything remotely fitted just makes me look fat - this stage is frustrating!!

I'm off to mothercare tomorrow as I really need a new work wardrobe for my new job on Monday!! All my maternity clothes from before are mainly summer ones so I think that's a good excuse to get online too and order some more!! Grin

ohcluttergotme · 01/12/2013 08:15

Morning all.
Welcome redcliff and amazing news on your scan.
Good luck today littlepickly. Know exactly how you feel, all my clothes make me look fat and frumpy Hmm

MTMD · 01/12/2013 08:39

Good morning ladies

I'm feeling slightly better today. It would be hard not to since the only thing I could swallow yesterday were Ice Popsicles :)

But I'm planning on spending another day in bed because cramps come back whenever I'm up... So I'm still worried.. However, Im about to have a super busy week at work with a deadline that cannot be missed (already been expended). To meet it, not only do I have to work everyday but also be 100% efficient with my time and probably work a few extra hours.. Such a bad timing!!!

As for maternity wear.. I have a suitcase full of clothes that are about a size too big. I've gained some weight years ago, bought an entire new work wardrobe and then came back to previous size :) Decided to keep it just in case.. Hope they will come handy :)

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone. December already?! :)

MTMD · 01/12/2013 08:40

ExTended :)

AuntPittypat · 01/12/2013 10:25

Morning all. For anyone thinking of checking out Gap for maternity clothes, they have 30% off everything online today. I can't read the code properly on my phone, but I think it says to just enter SHOPGAP at the checkout (details are on the Gap home page).

Vickyvix · 01/12/2013 10:27

Great news on your scan typhoon

MTMD sounds like rest is definitely what you need today. Hope this week isn't too stressful for you.

Might have to check out mothercare for some clothes, not tried there yet.

Today is christmas tree day! :)

Vickyvix · 01/12/2013 10:28

Ooh thanks auntpitty think I'll be checking out gap online too!

Bumblebeesmum · 01/12/2013 11:27

Super - and anyone else struggling with clothes. The only maternity clothes I bought with my 1st pregnancy were leggings (& not because I wasn't huge, because I was!!)
I discovered White Company clothing. Generous proportions as I think core customers are slightly older and lots of loose fitting but pretty wraps & long cardis etc. My entire wardrobe was white company by the end and it'll prob be the same this time! :)

littlepickly · 01/12/2013 12:00

Just back from mothercare and managed to find some suitable smart work bits - they have 20% off everything too so got some bargains! Will now stick to online ordering - need to find something pretty to wear for Christmas parties and my birthday! Smile

BEEwitched · 01/12/2013 13:06

I have a few nice dresses that will work for Christmas dos and skater dresses with leggings are working out well for me. Will move on to Simply Be maternity stuff once I get bigger, my jeans were always too big in the waste so are still just about bearable.

Had the first incident today where I mentioned to a soon-to-be ex-neighbour that I was pregnant and he stopped talking to my face and just talked to my bump while continuing the conversation. I can already tell that this will bug me. Cheeky aid asked whether it was twins, he was lucky I hear somewhat recovered from my crying jag this morning because he got a pleasant answer and didn't get thumped round the head.

BEEwitched · 01/12/2013 13:08

Sorry for the autocorrect madness.

dramajustfollowsme · 01/12/2013 15:56

Just got all my maternity clothes unpacked. Was my arse really that size?!?Blush I honestly had no idea. Note to self: don't chain eat mars bars this time.Grin
Not that chain eating anything is likely any time soon. I've unpacked those clothes and had to go and lie down. I feel like death. It is not fun. the motion sickness when I move about is awful. Just walking past the kitchen is making me heave.
I'm worried I'm going to be like this at Christmas when I'm catering for 10 adults and 4 kids.
What a grump I am today. Hmm

GinandStripes · 01/12/2013 16:03

BEE When we told my family, everyone from then on talked to my belly. Was really unsettling. Was not a fan.
