Just read what an awful night you had MTMD, glad everything's ok now though, look after yourself. Xxx

MyNameIsWinkly · 30/11/2013 08:58

MTMD that GP was an utter arse and I'm furious on your behalf Angry but delighted all seems well. A few of us have had scares with happy endings, hopefully we'll have an uneventful ride from here!

CleverOl10 · 30/11/2013 09:00

So glad to hear that news MTMD. What a scary experience. Relax and smile lots today. Grin

superlambanana · 30/11/2013 09:10

So relieved for you MTMD!! Sorry if my post sounded dismissive before - was trying to be reassuring but it came out wrong... I am so Angry for you about that GP - how dare he!!! (She?) I'd also be tempted to report that - adding to your stress was never going to help.

We saw our friends' newborn yesterday Smile She came nearly five weeks early! She is absolutely beautiful. I nearly cried when I saw her Blush and DH just went all gooey and couldn't stop looking at her! We both got to hold her which was lovely. Made me desperate for next June though!!

ElizaB3 · 30/11/2013 09:15

Phew MTMD! You were the first thing I thought about this morning, having told my DH as we are due the same day - so glad your bean is fine!

wispaxmas · 30/11/2013 09:26

Oh, what a stressful night, MTMD, but I'm so glad it's over with a happy ending!

MTMD, Smile. Hope you're catching up on sleep today.

Mitchell2 · 30/11/2013 09:57

So glad to hear your news MTMD

Lmf679 · 30/11/2013 10:10

Just caught up on the thread, so glad all is well mtmd. Such a relief! That gp is awful, worrying you like that!

MinaLeeds · 30/11/2013 10:15

Oh MTMD I'm so SO glad baby is ok! Just read your message now and my heart dropped. I wish I had read it last night to be able to give you some e-hugs. What an ARSE of a GP? WTF? To not even refer you to A&E? Angry

MarlenaGru · 30/11/2013 10:16

mtmd am blubbing reading this. So pleased it is all fine. What a dick of a GP. Do they go to a special school to lose their empathy?

One of my friends had her baby on Wednesday. He was only due in January and is apparently 1.5kg. How terrifying for her and she has no family (not even her dh) in the country. Terrifying!

HannahC1989 · 30/11/2013 11:05

Glad all is ok mtmd.. look after yourself hunni xx

panicmechanic · 30/11/2013 11:32

So relieved MTMD, thought of you first thing this morning

LadyGoneGaga · 30/11/2013 11:44

I'm so pleased everything is ok, MTMD but furious about the GP on your behalf. I think sometimes they have GP's doing out of hours who are semi-retried/not regular practiotioners and maybe not up on current advice etc which is terrible but happens. What an unhelful arse though.

I finally got booked in this morning. All seems fine. And my scan date arrived in the post. Friday 13th Confused. Brilliant.

MTMD · 30/11/2013 12:31

Thank you all. I start crying just from reading your messages.. You are so lovely and your support was vital last night.

Very relieved the baby seems fine. I can't say that about myself though.. Got a killer migraine and have been throwing up since they gave me the all clear at AE. Can't keep anything down, not even a tiny sip of water. But I don't care however crappy I feel so long as the baby is fine. It's amazing, isn't it, tiny blob of 57mm but I love him so much my heart bursts.

Im still worried though.. Mostly because I'm still experiencing light cramping and have light brown colour discharge. I really just want it to stop.

WifeofGru · 30/11/2013 12:50

Wooohooo MTMD. So happy your baby is well. Hope that all the cramping and discharge settles today with some time on the sofa. When is your booking scan?

Bumblebeesmum · 30/11/2013 13:35

Only just caught up on all the posts - quite an emotional roller coaster reading them all at once - so pleased all was ok in the end MTMD

I had a bleed in 1st pregnancy, was in triage at 20 something weeks where they thought I was going in to labour then triage several times in last few weeks for a variety of reasons. The midwife said to me: "you think they make you worry now? Wait till they're on the outside!" :)

So pleased all is ok for you - you'll need lots of sleep today!!

BEEwitched · 30/11/2013 14:40

I just got the letter back from my Nuchal and blood test. Trisomy 21 is down to 1:8735 after the bloods but my risk if Edward's Syndrome had risen to 1:332. I'm really scared now.

MyNameIsWinkly · 30/11/2013 15:03

BEE don't worry too much. That is still less than a third of a percent of a chance. The chances of you having miscarried by now were almost 10,000% higher! It is very VERY likely that it will be fine.

BEEwitched · 30/11/2013 15:08

Thanks, Winkly - that's what DH said when I called him and he's a mathematician so he should know. I'm not coping that we'll with the world in general at the moment so probably didn't react as rationally as I would've liked.

Mitchell2 · 30/11/2013 15:11

Hi Bee - I am not 100% certain but I think 1:332 is still classed as a low risk result, but understand your concerns. Hopefully someone else has more info, otherwise pop over to the antenatal tests board as someone maybe able to explain more?

I know it's not much help but 1/332 means 99.7% chance that everything is fine! if my crap maths is correct

I'd def speak to your midwife Monday to discuss otherwise my sister contacted ARC during her pregnancy and said they were really helpful

BEEwitched · 30/11/2013 15:44

Mitchell, the ARC sounds useful - I think the problem is that all I have is a letter with a few graphs, some statistics and some chemical results but no idea how they all connect.

Esp. as foetal size is indicated as on the small side as the lmp is given as 12th August but if following my opk dates (which were ignored) the little bugger measures large!

Mitchell2 · 30/11/2013 16:08

It's a bit shit how the nhs just expects us to know stuff based on their docs. And I think the NHS do call if it's a high risk result but not certain I'd give the ARC a call Monday who I am sure will be able to decode everything for you and you'll have a clearer idea on everything ( unless someone here can explain it to you?)

I wouldn't worry too much about the size, esp if you have a fair idea re OPK.

superlambanana · 30/11/2013 16:17

I think high risk is officially 1:150, or is that just for Down's?

Picked up my free Mum to be Emma's Diary pack from Argos today. So disappointed!! Why give me nappies, nappy cream and baby shampoo at this early stage?! I thought it was going to have nice mini moisturisers and useful things like plain crackers and mints in it!! How is the Bump to Baby pack going to be any different?!

Got very stressed going shopping - took me two hours to get ready as I felt so ill, so we got there in Christmas shopping chaos. I got increasingly depressed as I realised I couldn't buy any clothes as there was no point, and the only non-wired bra I could find was a horrible full cup granny one from M&S, which I had to buy anyway as I'm so desperate to be comfortable. Why don't they make pretty non-wired bras?! At least I managed to get some maternity jeans. I may now live in them.

CarrotCakeMuffins · 30/11/2013 16:18

Just caught up. MTMD, I'm so glad that all was well in the end, and agree with everyone else about the GP!

In other news, I got my nuchal results yesterday and the risk is 1 in nearly 4000, which is great.
