No yolk sac visible but scan said I was 5 +2. Will be 6+5 on scan day. The woman was non-committal. Said it was too early to give a definite response. Hope for best; prepare for worst.

fifi669 · 30/11/2013 09:11

doctor with DS they saw nothing at a 6 week scan and I prepared myself for the worst.... Then there he was at the 8 week! It's a stressful time, but think positive!

Hello everyone,

Is there room for a little one?

This is my first pregnancy and I'm 9wks. Looking forward to the chance to swap stories with you all. So as a starter for 10... I've been pretty sick so far and didn't quite make it through the front door the other day so had to puke behind a neighbour's car. Walking to work the next morning the sight of my own sick make me vom all over my boots.

This is going to be a glamorous experience isn't it?!

Really feel for all those waiting for results and wishing you lots of good luck and good health in your pregnancies.

Pint - my SIL is 43 and gave birth last week. Very healthy little boy and she had a relatively easy four-hour labour. So I guess oldies are goodies!

Grobags I hear you. The first trimester is getting old for me and at 8 + 2 it feels like there's still a looong way to go.

Ismarah, I'm sure you'll work out what's right for you and your DC when the time comes. I personally love my boobs for the first time since feeding my DD. Yes, they may be just a little saggier but they are pretty much back to normal now and frankly they rock for having done something amazing!

DoctorDonna I know that the time must be dragging so much. It WILL pass and I really hope you have positive news on Fri.

SmallOlympianBear · 30/11/2013 14:16

Oh, and welcome to BrightonSquirrel!

museumworker · 30/11/2013 14:48

Drdonna, fingers crossed for Friday for you.
Had scan yesterday at FMC. External.didn't work, so had to have internal which was sore. I have a retroverted uterus, not sure if that makes process worse. Sonographer put me back two weeks to 5+6 (so 6 weeks today) which I don't think is accurate as know when our contraceptive fail was. Think am probably 7 weeks today. Anyway, very early, could see egg, yolk and baby. Heard heartbeat.
Whilst clearly pleased everything ok, am gutted about dates being moved back 2 weeks. Just want to be able to tell people.
Have NHS scan booked for 2 Jan. And didn't feel sick yesterday evening for first time in a week!

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 30/11/2013 16:28

Brighton

glamorous indeed.

reminds me of this in Friends:

Phoebe: "Being pregnant is tough on your tummy"
Joey: "Hey, but at least you got that cool, pregnant lady glow"
Phoebe: "That's sweat. You throw up all morning you'll have that glow too!"
Grin

jaykay987 · 30/11/2013 19:26

Museum - similar think happened to me - they put me back 8 days.

But remember sperm can live for 5 days plus it can then take a day or two to implant - so don't rule it out completely.

coco808 · 30/11/2013 19:53

had my early dating scan today. The specialist midwife put me as 8w + 1 day which is about right! Everything is ok. Saw the flicker of the heartbeat but such a shame didn't get to hear it Sad

coco808 · 30/11/2013 20:15

zing i remember that episode...it is soooo funny!!

Pearlsaplenty · 30/11/2013 20:55

doctor my fingers are still crossed for you!!

About the breast feeding I breast fed ds for just over 2 years and my boobs are exactly the same size and perkiness as before. Nipples are a little darker.

justhayley · 30/11/2013 21:12

Hiya, how is everyone?
I had a MAJOR freak out last night - ended up posting in the wrong forum entirely. Had 2 tiny spots of brown discharge - they really were tiny and nothing when I wiped & I know brown is usually ok but I couldn't sleep woke up pretty much every hour stressing out and going to the bathroom to see if I was bleeding. I had nothing more or today. Although I also haven't "felt pregnant" today. Was exhausted this morning but almost forgot today. This is driving me insane, i know things can go wrong at any stage but I'm desperate to get to 12 weeks, finding it really hard not knowing if everything is ok with both babies.

I got a date for my booking appointment - December 9th. They give you scan dates then. Part of me wants it to be as soon as possible the other hopes it's after Christmas so if something has gone wrong I don't no & can enjoy it.

Had my 1st alcohol avoiding day today. My friend had a thanksgiving meal/party everyone there was a parent, & have seen me drink so wasn't sure how I was going to manage. First alcohol offer - can I start off with something soft I'm not good at drinking on an empty stomach. Grin
Was handed champers for a toast I did the toast & had a sip - then took my drink into another room & left it there. A few times when offered i said im good thanks i have one and randomly pointed to somewhere in the room lol. Then was given wine which I held in my hand all day so knowone else asked as I looked like I had just been topped up, not sure anyone notice Grin. Going out with the same group next Saturday so not sure how I'll get away with it again. It a meal so thinking I'll order lime and sodas and pretend I'm drinking vodka, or get wine and get DP to keep guzzling mine which will mean he'l end up pretty legless lol.

ismarah · 30/11/2013 21:42

I used to do that at all work functions where I was usually the organiser and preferred to stay sober. Nobody ever noticed if you pour half a glass at a time and every now and then agree to a little top up. Although I was in a boozy industry so maybe other people weren't their usual observant selves.

kim2783 · 30/11/2013 23:21

Has anyone else been hit with acne worse than when you were a teenager?

face masks and clearasil are not working! Angry Angry

DoctorDonnaNoble · 01/12/2013 07:18

Not acne, but then I never had acne. I am as spotty as I've ever been. I had a lovely day off feeling sick yesterday. Then I sat down to my breakfast and had to run to the bathroom for a little light retching Hmm Meant to go food shopping today. It's going to be difficult.

jaykay987 · 01/12/2013 08:30

Ive stopped doing it doctor. Internet delivery every week!
DH is a bit frustrated......when I'm feeling really dodgy the day the order has to go in - I just order exactly the same as last week! Grin Thinking about food does not make me feel good at all!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 01/12/2013 08:34

As long as I avoid the fresh meat I think I'll be ok. It seems at the moment that bland, nursery food is the way to go for me at the moment. Feeling a lot better after breakfast we'll have to see how long it lasts.

dollydaydream27 · 01/12/2013 08:47

Yes Kim I have ! I generally have bad skin anyway and used to be on anti biotics I stopped taking them ages ago when I knew ttc could be on the agenda as they can cause all sorts of problems . But I think I'm going to have to go back to the doctors this week as it's very bad and really getting me down Hmm

museumworker · 01/12/2013 09:19

Thanks jaykay, hadn't thought of it like that. Does mean will have ovulated 2 weeks late, but anything's possible!

Justhayley sorry to hear about the spotting. If it's any reassurance, I have 2 friends who bled in pregnancy, one in both. All babies were born fit and healthy. Both friends had early scans at their local hospital for reassurance.

After over a week of constant MS having a respite, feel human again. Exhausted though, especially as ran a charity event last night!

LazyDogJumpedOver · 01/12/2013 12:31

Anyone got their 12 week scan date yet? Had booking in appointment on Monday, letter about the scan came on Saturday. It's Thursday 2nd January. My husband is working and can't come but my mum is flying over from Dublin - yey! This is my second pregnancy, we have an 18 month old boy. My parents had a boy then had twins so we are wondering if it will go the same for us!

fifi669 · 01/12/2013 12:43

No 12 week scan yet, booking in was only Friday though so it might be asking a bit much!

Having a cheeky early scan today at 4 to stop me worrying.

LazyDogJumpedOver · 01/12/2013 13:09

Pop can I ask where people get early private scans? What company/where/how much/recommendations?

LazyDogJumpedOver · 01/12/2013 13:10

**ooo not pop!
