Pearlsaplenty · 29/11/2013 07:13

Ms = morning sickness, did I just invent that acronym? Grin

SmallOlympianBear · 29/11/2013 07:26

Snow, so sorry for your news.

Wave to pint, congrats! I am 41 and have booked to do Harmony test. Didn't worry last time for some reason (and she's 17 months so arrived when I was 40). Feeling too sick to be angry with anyone this time!

Doctordonna, good luck today, push on through for the weekend. Been meaning to say, love the name change :)

DoctorDonnaNoble · 29/11/2013 07:32

Thanks! She's my favourite. I'm pushing on through at the moment. Now thinking just need to get through next 7 days and then I'll know. Telling myself there are positives whatever. Either I've got a bean that's younger than I thought. Or, I'm able to enjoy Christmas to the full and get knocked up in January. At least I know that we can get pregnant; what will be will be.

Pearlsaplenty · 29/11/2013 07:43

doctor another benefit I found with being in limbo was that when I got my all clear it seemed that all of a sudden I was a lot further on in my pregnancy and could see the end of the first tri! I don't know why but that's what happened for me Grin have a great Friday :)

DoctorDonnaNoble · 29/11/2013 07:45

Thanks Pearl. I get what you mean. It feels like I'm on pause at the moment so if all is well I'll have fast forwarded a bit!

Pearlsaplenty · 29/11/2013 07:48

Yes you've explained it better! Just like I was on pause, and all of a sudden I jumped forward in time. And I think that is a good thing actually as in the first trimester as it can drag on :)

mummystein · 29/11/2013 08:08

Agreed with pearl. The first tri seems so long

DoctorDonnaNoble · 29/11/2013 08:21

I'm just pleased symptoms are progressing. That's got to be a good thing, yes?

BlueC2 · 29/11/2013 08:45

Morning all- just feeling so sick and so tired this morning and have SO much to get done today :( I love DS with all my heart but this week has been such hard work with him not well enough to go to the childminders so with me every day and up half the night each night too! Have somehow managed to get some work done in between everything and we have family arriving tomorrow so been trying to get some DIY finished-my 3 days without DS were so well planned so today would be calm but now it's going to be a manic (nausea filled) rush before a crazy early morning at the airport tomorrow :( so sorry for the moan just feel a bit fragile with it all! On plus side I have a scan on Monday afternoon and yes doctor symptoms are good as keep telling myself!! And breathe let's see if I can sneak in the shower before little man wakes up?!

jaykay987 · 29/11/2013 09:22

Urgh.....busy days are really hard work aren't they? This week has been so manic, but hopefully today I can slow down a bit. I'm feeling so nauseous....so hope that'll ease up soon. I'm 9w tomorrow so fingers crossed Ill see a change soon.

Time is seriously dragging! I got my BFP when I was three weeks, so I guess it's been a long time to keep my mouth shut! (Though at the time I thought Id got my BFP so late!)

I am currently counting down the days until my scan (11days 3 hours!Grin)

Good luck to everyone with a busy day!

museumworker · 29/11/2013 09:29

Hello all, quick update from me. Saw Dr last week and asked for referral to UCH. May transfer locally when further down the line but close to childcare.
Have been hit by terrible ms, took yesterday off as cried at thought of getting in shower. It is lasting all day from minute I wake up. Ginger biscuits making it worse. Any suggestions?
Have private viability scan today at FMC (7 +6) as starting to show already so want to know all ok before tell people/they guess!

FlyLikeABird · 29/11/2013 09:40

Just catching up with everyone's posts. I'm so sorry to hear snowpink's bad news. I hope she has all her loved ones looking after her Sad

Very excited with all these possible twins baggy hayley and possibly lemon! There are twins at the baby group I go to and they are just fab.

liquid sorry to hear of your bereavement, I hope the sickness is a short term thing.

ismarah congratulations on your MA, I hope everything gets sorted in time and your sickness bug is a one off.

zing please don't tell me 3 of yours were late, I am hoping for a 37 week birth this time Grin I have been advised to any future inductions as I reacted very quickly to the drugs last time, very quick VERY painful birth!

jaykay you've just reminded me of the hell that is trying to find maternity bottoms that fit AND stay up, hope you get the size you need.

Pint I'm 33 and feel like an oldie, does that count? Ha, the hatred, I had that for a few weeks in my last pregnancy, I don't know how I did't stab a certain colleague! I know of someone who used the FMC recently and were very happy with the service there.

I hope you all get your scans as soon as possible and have happy results. Last time I couldn't even allow myself to believe I could possibly have a live healthy birth until the 20 week scan. I'm trying to be a bit more optimistic this time as it is really draining to feel so anxious all the time. I don't know if there anything you can do though, you feel what you feel. I'd love to embrace pregnancy and birth but for me it is such a worrying time. When people ask if you are excited I would think are you mad! I did tell them this too but in the end just lied and said yes because no one wants to hear that you aren't having the time of your life Hmm

I saw the GP on Wednesday (5+4) as I've only had one AF since stopping breastfeeding completely and wasn't completely sure if it was an AF or early bleeding. Who knows, the GP didn't seem to be too fussed. Anyway she referred me to the community MW team who will do the full booking in and get a scan organised. It just seems to early to do things but I know Christmas can cause delays in the scanning department and I don't want to miss the window for the nuchal scan as I had quite a low score last time (DD was fine though!).

jaykay987 · 29/11/2013 09:47

Good luck museum. I had my early scan there (I was confident I was 7 w (as I was temping) but they measured me as 5w+6) and they were great.

Mrsc020987 · 29/11/2013 10:38

Quick update from me, booked in on Monday, got my scan date yesterday 23 December, what a Christmas present so excited 3 weeks on Monday, hoping the festivities make it go much quicker its dd's first Christmas so many things to do and Santa's to see!

Morning sickness has not improved despite the anti sickness meds, feel awful and poor dd hasn't been to gymboree or swimming in a few weeks, guilt plus hormones equal an emotional wreck on top of trying to get through this sickness!! Sorry for the moan!!

Congrats to newbies and twins, so exciting!

mamachelle · 29/11/2013 11:10

Hi all, can i join too pls?

I am 8+1 with dc5, due july 10th. Morning sickness kicked in today and spd made an appearance in the night. I was expecting both but was actually horrified by their arrival lol

have a good day :)

AuntieMaggie · 29/11/2013 11:17

I am going to burst if I don't tell someone soon. Theres a really lovely girl at work who is about 6 months and she was just chatting to someone next to me and I had the urge to just blurt it out but stopped myself!

8+5 today - this is going so slowly!

Pearlsaplenty · 29/11/2013 11:25

I've told a couple of people now, just friends who are not friends with other friends iykwim. Just to limit people accidentally telling other and it spreading that way. Just in case it goes wrong then I don't need to unannounce it to the world.

jaykay987 · 29/11/2013 12:33

Auntie - I'm with you. I'm 8w +6 and bursting to tell anyone! Grin

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 29/11/2013 12:44

fly

actually 5 of mine were late! Grin

DS1 + 2
DS2 + 14
DS3 & DD both + 6
DS5 + 9

only DS4 was early - he was ELSC (but only 5 days early)

elliejjtiny · 29/11/2013 13:50

So sorry snowpink

My oldest 3 were all late and then DS4 was early (35w) so who knows when this one will turn up. I'm hoping not as early as DS4. DH has told his mum and dad. I don't think I'll be telling my family until after the 20 week scan.

PintandChips · 29/11/2013 14:24

Thanks for the welcome everyone - so i'm definitely the most ancient, but glad to see i'm not the only over-40!

Desperate to get my scan done (booked for Dec 19th) just so i can tell everyone. i feel like i look huge already. Am beyond tired too - keeping up appearances at work is exhausting. Having said that, I've got NO sickness so i guess i'm one of the lucky ones...

MrsA2 · 29/11/2013 15:18

Hi all, sorry I've been offline for a few days - work has been hectic and I have been so shattered! Just got back from my scan and so far all looks good, heartbeat is flickering away and little one was waving a foot around and jiggling about all over the place, so amazing.

They calculated my due date as 5 July (8w6) - I'd half expected to go back few days so all seems about right.

Still planning to wait til my 12 scan before telling people but am going to let my sister know next weekend (she'd be suspicious of no drinking anyway) and I suspect we'll let our parents know before then too, we'll see...

Exciting twin news over the last few days! Hope time goes quickly for those awaiting follow up scans.

Museum Hope your scan went well today!

Fly I know how you feel, I wont get too excited until after 20 week scan. I worry about everything, wish I could just enjoy being pregnant and not think of the worst all the time.

PintandChips - love the name! We share a due date!

MrsA great news on the scan!

I have my 12 week scan date!! 18th Dec, so not too long to wait. I've also got an appointment in Jan with the Consultant MW, to talk about my fears of pregnancy and birth.

Ooh MrsB your scan date is the day before mine - glad they are before Christmas.
