Hi Everyone
I thought we should have a thread in here as so many of us have now graduated into the antenatal threads. I know that many good friendships have been made and it would be a shame to lose them because we are all due in different months.
So come on sign in!!

I didn't go to any classes, we did intend to, I got DH to get the afternoon off work, we drove down to the place where is was being held, sat in the car, and watched people arrive, and I just didn't want to go in. Still don't know what stopped me going in!

I did do the tour of the ward thing though, not that it made any difference once I was in labour I couldn't give two hoots if I'd been in that room before or not! LOL

wuzzlefraggle · 12/09/2006 12:13

i found that half of the time i wasnt even listening, i was looking at other peoples bumps lol
the tour was informative i suppose, but on the other hand as you said, when the time actually comes i dont think im gonna give a crap about the room decor lol. i just cant really be bothered with the last 2. i'd rather ask my midwife if i have any concerns or questions

NatalieJane · 12/09/2006 12:19

If you don't want to, don't go, you won't take anything in if your not in the right frame of mind anyway.

I think the only reason I would go this time, if I could, would be to meet other people, since we moved up here we've not really met a lot of people, the mums at DS's school are all friendly enough, but they all have their little groups and anything more than a quick hello or a moan about the weather is a little too much hard work for them IYKWIM?! It doesn't help that I am a southerner, and even though I am not in the slightest bit posh, all southerners are posh in a northerners eye!

wuzzlefraggle · 12/09/2006 12:23

i understand what you mean. well, maybe give it a go then and see what u think of it.

dh was the 1 bloddy idiot there that giggled quietly behind me everytime the midwife said thrush or vagina lol. i could have slapped him. oh god and she said nads once too, he had tears in his eyes lol. give your dh a stern talking to before you go is my advice lol

NatalieJane · 12/09/2006 12:27

LMAO See maybe that is why I didn't want to go in to mine last time?! Knowing what DH would make of all of it!! LOL

It completely depends on where they have them this time, DH can't get time off work now as easily as he could when I was pregnant last time, so he wouldn't be coming, and I can't drive, so it would have to be either some where on the bus route or within walking distance (which isn't very far at the moment!) Oh and durring school hours and giving me enough time to definately get back on time for DS!

wuzzlefraggle · 12/09/2006 12:31

not that easy then by the sounds. ours was at the hospital at about 7pm, but we were told to get there early.

NatalieJane · 12/09/2006 12:38

How are you feeling about being a mum in a few weeks time?

Pretty scary stuff isn't it?!

wuzzlefraggle · 12/09/2006 12:45

im really excited about it, but i must admit, its a very scary thought at the same time. its 100% life changing.

how are u feeling about being a mum of 2??

NatalieJane · 12/09/2006 12:55

6 weeks after the birth you will find stronger words to describe 100% life changing!! Nothing can ever prepare you for it, the good or the bad! I think the main thing is to go in head first, with your eyes wide open, you don't ever get the chance to do a day again, so make the most of it whilst it is happening, and most of all, don't forget that you need time to adjust and get back to being 100%, give yourself time to do that, else you will always be chasing instead of living.

Hmmm a mum of 2, not looking forward to the mad rush to get everyone up ready and out looking respectable and on time in the mornings, it is bad enough with just one!! But I think the rest of it will be fine, we are very lucky in that DS is really looking forward to the baby coming, and I think he will be thrown a bit at first but he will soon settle down and I know he will take it all in his stride, that is one thing I haven't had to think about!

wuzzlefraggle · 12/09/2006 13:32

im sure you'll be brilliant nat

well, im going to have to bugger off now for a bit and try my best to put some curtains up eeeek! lol

will catch up tomorrow or something
take it easy! xoxox

NatalieJane · 13/09/2006 09:33

Hiya Wuzz,

Hope the curtains went up alright!

Sorry I just left yesterday, internet started playing up and by the time it came back on, I saw you had gone so I just sat and read my book for the afternoon!

I don't know how many times I have wished to have some time to myself with nothing to do over the last five years, but I have certainly had enough time to myself now, I really don't know what to do with myself, can't believe I have another couple of months of this.

All I have to do today is hoover, which I did before we went to school, and put some washing on, which I am saving for this afternoon!

Nervous breakdown here we come...!

wuzzlefraggle · 13/09/2006 11:15

hiya nat

yeah somehow the curtains went up allright lol. it took me the best part of an hour and a half to do it tho lol

know what u mean about alone time. i must admit, i spend a lot of the time either napping, peeing or online lol. god i need to get out more

lucy5 · 13/09/2006 11:17

Just wanted to say hello!

wuzzlefraggle · 13/09/2006 11:30

hi lucy, how have u been? is all ok now?

lucy5 · 13/09/2006 11:32

Thanks, everything seems to be under control for the time being. I am being monitored alot but that can't harm. How are you?

wuzzlefraggle · 13/09/2006 11:39

glad to hear that all seems to be well!

i seem to be tired, achy and grumpy all the time lately, lol. im blaming the hormones.

how long u got left? is this your first?

lucy5 · 13/09/2006 12:07

I'm 28 weeks and this is number 2, I have a 6 year age gap. What about you? I can sympathise with the tired, grumpy stuff. I'm still waiting to bloom, hahahaha.

wuzzlefraggle · 13/09/2006 12:30

lol lucy. im 34 weeks and this is our first.

ive just cracked and bought a pair of maternity dungarees lol.

NatalieJane · 13/09/2006 12:42

Hello

Glad things have settled down a bit Lucy, fingers crossed they stay that way!

You will have to let us know how you get on the dungarees Wuzz!

wuzzlefraggle · 13/09/2006 12:55

hiya nat
lol will do. im going to have to make myself promise that they are for inside use, casual house dungarees only lol.

NatalieJane · 13/09/2006 12:58

Must admit, I'd be a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to get them down quick enough at certain times!! I'd get all flustered and panicked which would make it worse!! LOL

NatalieJane · 13/09/2006 13:02

I am re-discovering my old CD's (in an attempt to stay away from day time telly!!) so I've got an old Eminem album on, haven't listened to it for ages because of the language and DS, but the baby is dancing away to it!! LOL Am I damaging him already?

wuzzlefraggle · 13/09/2006 13:06

wuzzlefraggle · 13/09/2006 13:08
