Ooh, can you do a link to those jeans mrsmugoo?

Obv, with the ones I was talking about, the waistband of the stretchy bit is really high (or else they wouldn't be overbump!) but the bit where the jeans meet the stretchy bit is so, so low. I suppose it has to be with that kind of design, because the jeans bit has got to sit below the bump...hmm

pixiebell79 · 10/12/2013 12:15

Thanks for the welcome everyone! PainAuxRaisins I'm pretty sure I'm not the friend of catameringue's - I haven't been to any antenatal classes ;).

An outstandingly normal pregnancy so far - everything on schedule, had morning sickness but it stopped about the 14/15 week mark, both scans went smoothly and I'm now on the slippery slope of disturbed sleep, uncomfortableness and the very early practice contractions, lol! Quite looking forward to having a baby to hold at the end of this :).

Found out I'm having a boy, which has shocked both of us given that virtually all kids for about 3 generations have been girls (on both sides! My husband is the only boy including his cousins). So we'll see how we all cope with that! Haha ;)

pixiebell79 · 10/12/2013 12:21

On the trousers front I'm still in my dance pants - kind of like jogging bottoms but they're black (no stripes or anything) and extremely stretchy, so I haven't had to resort to maternity trousers yet despite getting rather large already. Highly recommend them! Tried on some maternity leggings at Jojo maman's the other day but the bump section was made out of material that didn't have enough give - god knows what it would be like by the time I'm ready to pop! Got a good pair of black trousers from them though for when I do need them :)

mrsmugoo · 10/12/2013 16:00

I have some yoga pants with a big fold over waistband that I use as PJ bottoms (i.e the entire time I'm in my own home!)

BakingEating · 10/12/2013 16:14

I'm getting fed up with my maternity trousers too. They're over-bump but the waistband bit that's supposed to fit underneath is horribly restrictive when I sit down. I'm wearing dresses as much as I can, at least when it isn't too cold.

FoxMulder · 10/12/2013 16:20

I have some fisherman pants from when I was backpacking somewhere in the loft! I could dig those out! Maybe not actually, I would look like a right dick. Jogging bottoms are still doing fine for at home.

lumpylumps · 10/12/2013 17:43

lib it was around 12 weeks with them both. Just felt like I couldn't cope, hysterical tears. With Ds1 rang my mum at 7.30 in a right state because he wouldn't take any milk and when he did he was sick. He was a nightmare feeder all the time but it all got too much. She ditched work and came straight over. Let me have a rest. Did my housework and just looked after me
With Ds2 it was an evening. They were in the bath and I just felt overwhelmed and had to get out. Dh came home from work and I asked him to watch them in the bath and just walked out. I drove for an hour in a right state. Ended up on a friends door step. Had a chat, let it all out and went home. I've warned everyone to watch me around 12 weeks this time!!!

Welcome pixie

Imeg · 10/12/2013 19:41

I think I've had some braxton-hicks (I'm due early March). It feels like the bump is generally tightening all over, not painful, just odd. I think there are certain triggers that seem to make them happen.
I've been asleep most of the day: have some sort of bug so couldn't go to work as felt really feverish and headachy.

PainAuxRaisins · 10/12/2013 20:33

lumpy I reckon a lot of people probably get to about 12 weeks and suddenly have a blip. Those first few weeks you get through on adrenaline alone, the next few weeks everything is still a bit of a novelty and your body can still cope with the lack of sleep but then by 12 weeks you just feel completely shattered. I remember getting to 12 weeks and the longest period of continual sleep I'd had in all that time was about 3 hours! At least this time we'll all hit the 3 month mark in June which has got to be better than hitting it in deepest darkest winter.
Get well soon Imeg Thanks
Just about to polish off a jumbo bag of Wotsits (my latest "pregnancy craving")

FoxMulder · 11/12/2013 08:47

Oh great, I've been told you just start getting the hang of it by that point. I think a family gathering is planned for Easter!

FoxMulder · 11/12/2013 08:53

I'm just assuming I'll just sort of 'step up' to all this baby-looking-after malarky. Because I'm not doing a great job of just looking after myself at the minute. The house is a state - there are piles if dirty dishes, the bed sheets have needed changing for ages, there's been no food in the house for about a week! I can't blame DH either because he spends every spare minute tiling the bathroom. I'm just too knackered after work to get anything done.

pixiebell79 · 11/12/2013 11:01

Fox, I think that sounds exactly like most of us right now. My DH points out (when I'm getting annoyed at not being able to do more) that I'm working v hard making Splodge and giving him a lovely home for his 9 month stay... Bless him :)

PainAuxRaisins · 11/12/2013 13:15

Fox I think it's fairly normal at this stage to feel knackered. I've let the housework slip too (the only reason I've done the washing up today is because I'm on annual leave) most days it stays in the sink overnight and my DH does it in the morning. And he's on sheet changing duty too as I just can't handle all the bending and stretching anymore. I have huge admiration for single mums doing this on their own!

mrsmugoo · 11/12/2013 14:28

Yes I am absolutely knackered now too - the heartburn and sore coccyx is kicking in and bending down to pick anything up or put on socks/shoes is becoming more and more of a chore.

I don't want to complain as I know this is all entirely normal AND there is three whole months left to go not to mention it gets a LOT worse towards the end than it even is now!!

I do love being pregnant but it's certainly becoming much harder than the absolute breeze it's been for the last 25 weeks!

FoxMulder · 11/12/2013 14:52

I think it's at least partly the time of year. The last couple of weeks before Christmas are always a bit hard. It's so dark and everyone just needs a break.

DH would be doing all the housework if he wasn't doing the bathroom. I don't think he would care if I never changed the bedsheets ever again.

Have to say, I've found pregnancy pretty shit so far.

And we've got the folks coming to stay this weekend.

mrsmugoo · 11/12/2013 15:33

This is where I am soooooo glad I have a cleaner - although can't really justify keeping her when I'm on mat leave I'll have no excuse not to clean my own house when I'm not working all the hours.

liberuna · 11/12/2013 15:55

Ha ha fox I don't think having clean dishes cones under criteria for child rearing :)

I have my wedding 12 weeks in Confused hopefully I won't do a runaway bride as my blip!

mrs if you can't complain on here. Then I don't know where you could :)

Bump is certainly being felt now, fell asleep at my desk!! Since im still doing diy the house is in a constant state. No matter how much I clean it's never finished as we're stripping, painting, moving. Urgh

FoxMulder · 11/12/2013 15:55

Oh, I want a cleaner! DH doesn't want a stranger in the house. Not to mention the money.

lumpylumps · 11/12/2013 16:12

Ooh no lib don't do that!!!

mrsmugoo · 11/12/2013 17:06

Fox I'm at home when she cleans, we decided against leaving a key - so she comes at 7am-9am once a fortnight now, I just let her in and go back to bed!

lib DIY? my god you have my sympathy. We did major renovations 4-5 years ago and I still bear the mental scars! Kudos for coping with that with a bun in the oven!

Rockchick1984 · 11/12/2013 17:24

Mrs I could cope fine with all the housework when working full time - it's now I'm a stay at home mum that I could do with a cleaner!! If you can afford to keep her on, definitely do!!

Welcome Pixie :)

Fox I don't recall having a 12 week blip - although DH crashed and burned at some point within the first few months so think he was probably working himself to the bone around the house and with caring for DS so that I didn't get too overwhelmed. In all honesty the first few months are such a blur that I can't be certain, feels like a million years ago (DS is nearly 3).

Back and pelvis are killing me today, I've yet again done too much. Roll on 6.30 - DH gets home, he settles DS and I can chill!!!

liberuna · 11/12/2013 18:27

To all you over doing it. We are now entering the final trimester ,time to adjust. Take it easy and look after yourselves. Don't want anything happening to you.

Grin Lib

lumpylumps · 12/12/2013 08:52

You know when you see those massively pregnant people in the street and think "they must be 6/7 months. I'm not that big!!" That's us! Heavily pregnant and waddling. It's not until you see yourself in a shop window that you really realise it and that's why we continue to do too much.

I know I need to rest and take it easy but there's certain things that still need doing. I need to get up and showered. The boys still need taking to school/nursery, bathing, feeding etc. That can't all stop cos I have a dodgy pelvis but I also need my friend. I need to socialise to stop me going mad. I'm sick of other people telling me what I should and shouldn't do. Should I go out for tea?? Erm...... I drive there and walk in. Sit down. Someone else cooks it, serves it, clears away and washes up. I walk to the car and drive home. By the time I get home dh has fed, bathed and put the children to bed. Tea out is much more restful that tea at home. So yes I should go out for tea!!!!!

sorry, that turned a bit waffly and ranty. Have a good day everyone!!

mrsmugoo · 12/12/2013 09:26

Re: doing too much

I suppose not leaving the office til 11:30pm would count as that huh?

Gonna try for a less stressy day today. Bottom of back is killing me and whenever I sneeze my rib cage feels like its going to snap in half and my womb feels like its going to fall out.

I also caught myself waddling yesterday.

I need a weekend.
