Okay I don't like to run out of things, even threads, so here's the new one.

Can't remember who described their baby kicking like an octopus but it's very true :)

Thingy - you've given all us second timers hope Grin

camwombat · 27/11/2013 17:53

Thingy you've made my day! 9lb 4oz was sufficient enough thanks, I don't think my body could cope with much bigger. Although worryingly, last time I was always a cm adrift (smaller), so far I'm bang on Confused

EeyoreIsh · 27/11/2013 18:03

Good news on the scans, I hope those of you having GD tests get the right results.

I'm back in Brussels. Again. I'd much rather be at home. I almost burst into tears getting onto the eurostar as my ribs were hurting so much and I had to stand for ages and no one would help me put my bag above the seats etc etc! woe!

There's a work trip (overnight) to Birmingham in a fortnight. Do to think I'm within my rights to say no? I'll be 32 weeks. I really hate travelling now, my normal commute is bad enough.

I'm going to second Champs on this one. Say no. Make them redo your risk assessment with you, it should be reviewed regularly anyway amd things altered as your pregnancy progresses. The amount you do should be being reduced...

Champs, I may be making this up (if so I'm patenting the idea) but cant you get chocolate laced with guiness? I'm clearly now off to Google this.

DS was 8lb9oz at 42+1. Growth chart predicts this one will be almost 10lb if she goes 2 weeks late ConfusedConfusedConfused

DH was looking for low sugar breakfasts and always ends up going back to plain old shredded wheat bite size. His is not for diabetes so not sure how that stacks up bit it is the best he's found.

thisis for low sugar breakfasts I've found a bacon and mushroom omelette to be good, or just plain old bacon and eggs (which gets boring very quickly, let me tell you). Low-sugar additions can include: avocado, grilled tomatoes and halloumi for an Aussie-style breakfast, seeded bread if that works for him (is too much for me, but does work for some people). Crumpets with natural yoghurt and either fresh fruit or stewed fruit are pretty good. My non-meat alternative is natural yoghurt, drained tinned prunes and a full handful of walnuts. Lots of goodness, not very filling, but add in a mid-morning snack (2nd breakfast) and an early-ish lunch and you're ok!

champs red lentils are full of iron, if pulse are your thing?

camwombat · 27/11/2013 19:05

clearly medicinal. they have it on amazon but I'm sure I've seen it in a supermarket somewhere... if not in the chocolate aisle but the Christmas ones...

marzipanned · 27/11/2013 19:15

I was a smaller second baby! Two pounds smaller - and still over nine pounds Shock

marzipanned · 27/11/2013 19:16

champs do you mind eating mince? Spag bol, a burger, something like that...if you're not keen on red meat it might be slightly more palatable in those forms?

Can also disprove the 2nd baby is bigger myth - my older sister was 7,5 pounds, I was 6 and my little sister 6,5! :)

EeyoreIsh · 27/11/2013 20:13

champs, chocolate and Guinness would definitely be purely medicinal Grin don't forget to avoid tea at the same time as eating.

Ok, I'll say no to any more work trips. I'm currently having a Chinese, mmmmmm Smile

winterflowers · 27/11/2013 21:59

I had a chocolate Guinness cake the other day. Amazing.

Mim78 · 27/11/2013 22:03
