Okay I don't like to run out of things, even threads, so here's the new one.

Can't remember who described their baby kicking like an octopus but it's very true :)

Sorry Shropshire. Sad times. And thanks to others for the iron info. I'm really finding it very difficult to eat properly. Hoping there are nutrients in mince pies. I do quite fancy them.

Shropshiremummy2B · 23/11/2013 07:20

Yesssss Ruey! Especially Waitrose ones with a frangipan topping. Mmmmmmm.

Thank you all so much for ignoring me and the nice messages.

Beyond excited...... I'm 3/4 of the way there today!

Thingymajigs · 23/11/2013 07:35

Good morning. I'm nearly 30 weeks. Confused In 10 weeks I'll have a baby. This is quite alarming for some reason even though we tried for a year and I'm quite aware of the end result of pregnancy. I feel sad that I only have a few weeks left of my last pregnancy whilst also wishing the time away so I can meet ds3.
I better get prepared and buy things really. Found a £40 Quinny changing bag yesterday for £1.75 and I'm off to the NCT sale this morning so hopefully I can find lots of bits we need. Then its ds2's sleepover party, the last in a long while.
What have you all got planned this weekend?

jazzcat28 · 23/11/2013 07:41

Hurrah for those on 10 wk countdown! I'm 28wks tomorrow and actually now very scared about it all after cruising through the entire pregnancy with only exhaustion and leg cramps to worry about. Looking forward to starting nct classes but not til January which could be too late!

Today I'm hoping to go into town for a spot of Xmas shopping and to pick up my free Boots changing bag. Then tomorrow having nails done and gloss painting the nursery white wood. Totally didn't plan this very well....

Lying here in bed enjoying bean kicking is the best way to start the day though Smile

Thisisfreakingmeout · 23/11/2013 07:58

Shrops - so sorry, we'll raise a glass to gran Shrops in this house once we're able. Congrats on reaching 75% - me too!

know exactly what you mean about being nice. When my nan passed away I had to tell work people that the only thing they could do was tell me to buck my ideas up or silently bring me tea. Any kindness made me sad.

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 23/11/2013 08:16

So sorry to hear your news Shropshire.

I'm 60 days off my due date today, starting to get exciting now! Today is my sisters birthday so it feels like the final big milestone now (barring Christmas) to 'get through' and I'm hoping I will be able to really start focussing on the baby soon. Because I've barely thought about her for the past month and I really don't like that!

Hope everyone has a restful and healthy weekend.

winterflowers · 23/11/2013 09:12

I hit third trimester next week...feels like lots of exciting milestones coming up! And it's nearly January in which case we'll be able to say next month eeeeee (except for those of you sneaking in from Jan who can say it next week! )

Haven't had a mince pie yet must rectify.

Am with you on the lazy morning feeling Bean jazz am laid here doing exact same - love feeling her playing in there :)

Somanychanges · 23/11/2013 09:18

Morning all!

Hope you all had a good sleep. I can't believe it! I only had to get up once for the loo phew! So a much better sleep last night.
My DH picked up the pram on the way home yesterday. It was quite sweet to see he was actually excited about it. Makes it seem so much more real having a baby pram in the house. So DH, DC and I spent the evening playing around with the pram and DD got her dolls out for a little go. It's in absolutely fantastic condition. If it wasn't for a bit of wear on the wheels you would think it was brand new. I especially like the carrycot. I am so happy with my choice in pram and getting a bargain.

I know this has been asked so many times but I've missed it or cannot remember. How do we go about getting the free Boots changing bag? I was thinking this could go well as my Icandy is plain black. Has anyone got it? Is it any good?

Has anyone got the Icandy changing bag? What is that like?

Think we may be heading into London today to see the in laws. And might catch up with a few friends.

For those of you having boys, I saw the cutest all in one suit (think snow suit type thing) yesterday on a newborn baby in Kingston. It was knitted and had a lovely winter pattern, I have actually never seen anything like it before but really want it. I was too shy to go over and bother the couple and ask where it was from, has anyone seen one?

barebranches · 23/11/2013 09:34

somany I've got the icandy changing bag, it came with the pram bundle I bought. It's quite big but I don't know how practical it is having never used one...there are some little pockets in the side which I guess you could stick mobile, lotion, etc in, but everything else would have to go in the main area.
Very happy with my gumtree bargain too :)

jazz yep that is 100% the best way to start the day!

EeyoreIsh · 23/11/2013 11:49

Morning all. I'm still in bed, it's lovely Grin Although FIL is here helping DH out with some house stuff so I suppose I'd better get up and say hello.

I'm thinking about buying a second hand buggy. If I buy it from eBay from someone with a good rating it should be fine, right?

shrops, I hope you're ok today. thinking of you.

Somanychanges · 23/11/2013 11:59

We were going to buy from eBay too but ended up going for Gumtree as we wanted somewhere local where we could go and take a look first.

But if I hadn't found what I was looking for in Gumtree I was definitely going to go with one on EBay.

jazzcat28 · 23/11/2013 12:44

Ultimate pregnancy lows hit today - I know I walk slower now, but getting overtaken by old ladies with trollies in town was a bit embarrassing. Also when buying a pair of maternity jeans the stick thin 16yr old cashier says "ooh these look big and comfy, perfect for after Christmas dinner" no, I need them on a normal day.... sigh...

The Boots changing bag thing - you have to sign up to the Boots parenting club online. Wait a couple of weeks and they send vouchers in the post. Take vouchers to Boots and buy a jumbo pack of Newborn Pampers and you get the bag free.

I went and got mine today. Bag looks good - it had a price tag of £30 on the shelf but not sure it is worth that much. Has a changing mat thingy included inside, has side pockets and a zip up bit inside. I noticed one of the side pockets has tin foil/thermal stuff so presumably is ok for a bottle for an hour or so. DM has bought me a rather posh changing bag but it's bright red and a bit flashy, bit girly too. This black Boots one might suit DH better when he's on duty. Also thought I can start filling it with baby clothes and essentials for when we are in hospital.

Somanychanges · 23/11/2013 13:02

jazz so sorry but that shop assistants comment made me laugh. I would have been a bit put out if she said that to me. But big and comfy is all I am interested in right now. Don't worry all of us will soon exchange our waddling for cute newborns.

That sounds like all I really need from a changing bag I am definitely going to get that one then. I cannot even remember what my changing bag looked like with first two so I am not exactly that fussed about it as long as it gets the job done.

Well the lady who fitted me yesterday in M&S for a bra brought me a heap of ridiculous granny bras. Something I wouldn't even wear as a granny. When my friend and I left the shop she said that there had been quite a big selection of nice maternity bras but the lady had gone round to the granny section and brought all the bras for me from there. She was a bit old, but as for making me look like a granny em no thanks. I am still young and have a DH to DTD with who won't be impressed with granny attire. I am not ready for old lady bras quite yet.

EeyoreIsh · 23/11/2013 13:30

I thought the m&s bra selection was awful, Debenhams was better. I'm currently going bra free Grin damn those sore ribs.

I've made it out of bed and onto the sofa. That's enough activity for the day, right?!

Thingymajigs · 23/11/2013 14:18

Just got back from the NCT sale and found some nursing bras, clothes, a cosy toes, head support, cloth nappies and toys. DP was getting very excited buying things which made us go a bit mad spend wise.
I was surprised to see that a lot of ds2's (10 yo) friend's mums were volunteers at the NCT. That made me realise they must have all made friends at NCT classes when they were pregnant. Now I'm worried I made the wrong decision not to go to classes. I could do with knowing other mums with babies. I guess I've missed my chance now though.
eeyoreish, I've been buying and selling on eBay since it first began and have never had an issue. As long as the feedback is ok and they have detailed pictures I think its fine to buy pricier items.

EeyoreIsh · 23/11/2013 14:30

Thanks thingy, I've sold on eBay quite often but never bought!

We're going to an nct sale tmw, but we're not members. Will we be allowed in?

Thingymajigs · 23/11/2013 14:33

Yes you will. Ours had two queues and the members went in 15 mins earlier than us.
Have a plan as to which areas you want to go to first so you can follow the map straight to the important areas first.

camwombat · 23/11/2013 14:39

Eeyore is that in or near Eastbourne? I might send my mother with a list!

EeyoreIsh · 23/11/2013 15:09

It's at Lewes, cam, I missed the Eastbourne one.

15 mins doesn't sound too bad. I'll go armed with a list, I love a good list. I'll have to get there on time I guess to catch the bargains.

Somanychanges · 23/11/2013 15:49

Ok I think I have finally started with the nesting urge. I had to make a space for my pram so had to clear out all the junk that was dumped in what was previously a downstairs loo (before I made it into a cupboard full of stuff for charity shop and shoe storage).

I have now cleared the cupboard under the stairs and put up lots of hooks so we have somewhere to hang jackets, plus made a designated shoe area and place for hats and scarfs.

I am now off to find a clothes bank or charity shop to give my bags of old clothes to. Then I will just have to think of what to do with the rest of the junk I pulled out from under the stairs.

My next mission will be to tackle my bedroom. Get rid of all the boxes and get a small chest of drawers for baby and makes space for the Moses basket. I can't wait to have everything sorted. Hopefully by Christmas it will all be done and I can finally enjoy my new house and be ready for baby.

marzipanned · 23/11/2013 16:30

Oh jazz you made me chuckle! All my female friends in their 20s are exceptionally jealous of my maternity jeans. This is going to be the most comfortable Thanksgiving EVER.

Went for a walk up a (not particularly huge) hill this afternoon and feel utterly knackered now. Then had a cup of tea and inadvertently said "mmm, lovely," when I took the first sip. I have become an old woman, bring on the granny bras.

mrscookie78 · 23/11/2013 18:55

sorry to hear your news Shropshire! I signed back up to boots this am, need to do tescos next Smile I got our buggy the other day, a friend gave me her old phil and teds so I can use it now for ds and use it if I need to when baby is here.
