Okay I don't like to run out of things, even threads, so here's the new one.

Can't remember who described their baby kicking like an octopus but it's very true :)

That's a really good point cubano.

pettyprudence · 23/11/2013 22:35

baby has been kicking me in the bum this afternoon - definitely the wierdest feeling so far! only seconds before though my whole tummy was moving so feck knows what he/she was doing in there Shock I am no good atvdoing the body mapping thingy. I prod my tummy and cant find any baby let alone a head or a bum!

notoneforselfies · 23/11/2013 23:08

CubanoHabana · 24/11/2013 00:26

Finally entering the third trimester today! I'll be catching all of you up by, oooh, at least early March Wink

Saw a preg friend yesterday who has been lent a nearly new bugaboo and a car to ferry the little one around in. I have family envy.

Hope you managed to get a bit more sleep champagne. I was just going to remark on how late i've slept this morning then remembered I woke up pretty much hourly so don't think it counts as a lie in.

EeyoreIsh · 24/11/2013 08:47

DH is having a mini freak out about the fact there's only 10 weeks to go! It's hilarious Grin he's decided he needs to cram in pub visits, lie ins, golf and even apparently a lads trip somewhere. He never goes on lads trips, he hates them! It's hilarious to watch him panic.

misskatamari · 24/11/2013 09:03

Awww Eeyore bless him Smile it is crazy realising how soon it is.

Champagne I feel your pain, been achey all night an had to get up about three and go and find tablets to ease the acid burn that I couldn't bear any longer. One of the cats did come and sleep on my bump purring afterwards tho which was very nice (although I probably shouldn't lie on my back with a cat on my belly Smile).

Had a day trip to Birmingham yesterday, which was lovely but bloody exhausting! Feel so achey today! When I got home the bath has had a temporary fix until they can come and do the work next week and DH had spent ages boxing things up to move the furniture for decorating bless him. I cannot wait to have a bath later!!! GrinGrinGrin

Hope you're all having lovely relaxing weekends xxx

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 24/11/2013 09:31

I'm hardly sleeping now either. My lower back, hips and legs are just so aches it is impossible. I have to move every few minutes for relief. Heat packs help at first but it's the early morning that causes the most problems when the heat pack has lost it's warmth.

Really having to slow down now physically, I can see the housework piling up around me (so much worse with a messy preschooler!!) and I can't do half of it Confused

Thingymajigs · 24/11/2013 09:34

I did check yesterday champagne and there is a class but no refresher courses and the full course is for those due end of Feb/March and I'm early Feb so I'm not sure if I fit in that group but I might go anyway.
eeyore, I've told DP to sort out a few lads nights out before baby is born but all of his friends are busy with their own children so he's stuck atm. I don't actually think a baby will affect his routine much. He'll sleep the same and go to work and life carries on as normal. DP has said he'll look after the baby whilst I go out but then I'd have to express milk and that takes ages.
I've unwittingly prepared myself for sleep deprivation by hosting a sleepover last night. Think I managed 2 hours so I'm a bit less chirpy today. DP slept for a good 9 hours though of course. I'm preparing a list of jobs for him to do to settle the injustice.

CubanoHabana · 24/11/2013 11:49

For info, if you download the mothercare app on your phone, you get a £10 off if you spend over £50 voucher... It also has music on it for bump, baby and white noise.

thingy in our area they're laying on an additional nct class, can you ask if they'll do the same?

The nct sale was a little disappointing. We managed to get snow suits and gro bags, but all the clothes were marked up quite expensively, and there were no slings, rockers, play mats, blankets etc. We arrived at 10.30 too, I think the first 20 in the queue must have snaffled all the good stuff!

EeyoreIsh · 24/11/2013 12:28

champs we're exactly the same! a big night out for us is going around to friends or out for a beer festival. DH described his panic as being because the option just won't be there! bless his cotton socks.

Can I have a moan please? After getting crippling ligament pain a few weeks back I've been taking it really easy and it's been much better. But three days of travelling for work, lugging papers and suitcase around has buggered me right up again Sad I'm walking slower than an old lady and it still hurts. I'm feeling very woeful.

camwombat · 24/11/2013 13:39

eeyore thats rubbish, get yourself on all the local fb selling sites. I have several friends in the EB area selling stuff via them. look also for local toddler groups having sales.

Hope everyone can have a nice nights sleep this evening! Can sympathize - PSD + 4 nightly trips to the loo is certainly keeping me awake!

I'm going back home tomorrow, had a crazy busy week! Got a gorgeous pram though, from my other halfs mum! Silvercross freeway in oxford grey - was on offer so not too expensive ^^ It's stood in the livingroom looking pretty :D

gnittinggnome · 24/11/2013 14:30

We had our second NCT class yesterday, a lot more focused on labour and birth, and we all played with little handheld massagers for during contractions - I am very recommending them, I think they will at the very least help with soothing tension between surges/contractions and are ace!

eeyorish sorry to hear you're back to being in pain...trying to get with the rest of life that is happening is getting increasingly difficult. Hope you can get some rest this weekend!

Julietee · 24/11/2013 15:49

I am finally in the 3rd trimester! And now the time left seems like another eternity and I'm scared because of the thread on the main forum about how uncomfortable everyone is in the late third tri.

I've been skimming the hypnobirthing book and annoyed by how vague and fuzzy a lot of it seems. Like, it says after mid pregnancy you should slow your walking down so you don't jostle the baby and not do vigorous walking because your blood will flow to your limbs not the uterus. You can't just make statements like that without backing it up with, you know, actual science. I call bullshit.

We went on a recce for pushchairs/ travel systems and it was overwhelming. No idea which set we're going to go for. My grandpa has offered to buy us the buggy but I don't think he realises how much they are!

Now I'm full of smoked salmon and bagels. Which is of course a happy state to be in. Was going to go for a baby-jostling walk but I forgot my ipod, so it will have to wait for tomorrow.

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 24/11/2013 16:38

Ha I just commented on that thread Smile

sunflowered · 24/11/2013 17:03

I'd just read through it and was coming on here to wail!! It can't be all bad... can it?

Flowers to everyone who's suffering aches and pains of all varieties. I got stuck on the floor earlier - thought a bean bag would be the perfect support while I sorted through a bag of essential house stuff hoarded crap

winterflowers · 24/11/2013 17:13

Sorry to everyone in so much pain. Am suffering a little -hips kill esp after getting up- but not as much so can sympathise.

Join the third trimester next week as well Julietee woooooo.

Genuinely think I may have put bean in a sugar coma last night I ate so much pic n mix. She's perked up again today though thankfully. Had a mince pie to celebrate

EeyoreIsh · 24/11/2013 17:14

I feel bad for my moan earlier. I'm finding recent weeks much easier than the first 20, it's just the pain that's annoying.

I've basically spent all weekend chilling other than venturing to the nct sale!

camwombat · 24/11/2013 17:26

To put a few fears to rest. With ds, I was uncomfy in the last couple of weeks, partially due to the size I was but also the heat (it was 35 degrees) and I couldnt cool down. I'm hoping this won't be an issue in Jan/Feb. I was also frustrated/impatient as by that point I just wanted to have a baby, and not still be waiting. However, none of it was any worse than throughout the pregnancy, I feel uncomfy now because of the spd.

Today I fear I am going down with a bug as I have a throat as rough as a badgers arse and generally feel
crap. Sad DH has told me to start taking it easy, could someone have a word with ds then....
