Okay I don't like to run out of things, even threads, so here's the new one.

Can't remember who described their baby kicking like an octopus but it's very true :)

Oh no hope granny is ok shrops. Sorry some of you are having rubbish days, luckily I seem to still be fine. It's almost as if I'm not pregnant apart from the football under my jumper of course.
Winter I did when I was 18 weeks and baby was fine. Don't think he even noticed to be honest!

marzipanned · 22/11/2013 15:03

Thanks jazz. Guess I might just rely on 999 to talk me through it then!

Winter I've flown twice since baby was big enough to feel kicks. Both times she went completely nuts on the outbound journey, really really active, and was normal self on inbound journey. Not sure what it was all about!!

sunflowered · 22/11/2013 15:08

Winter i flew last weekend and the main issue was spending a long time on my feet queuing for the various checks and delays at the airport - after a busy weekend 90minutes without being able to sit down was a struggle (but most airports aren't that bad!) Think my blood pressure was quite high by the time I got on the plane but once I'd calmed down it was all fine. Apart from the bit where I had a sudden wave of tiredness, fell asleep with my mouth open, and started to snore in the safety demonstration but that could have happened to anyone... Sad

sunflowered · 22/11/2013 15:10

Sorry - to actually answer the question, baby didn't react at all. Not even when getting whacked by other people's bags and backsides in the scrum to get off the plane first

gnittinggnome · 22/11/2013 15:21

winter Bean handled flying like a pro, not a problem at all. The seatbelt was almost not long enough, and my goodness was I happy for a little extra room on the way back (the front row, just behind the central kitchen area) but if it's not a long flight you'll be a-ok. Don't forget your flight socks! These will also help if you're trekking around the place/airport. I flew between 27-28 weeks.

winterflowers · 22/11/2013 15:23

Thanks ladies, good to know! Guess they are quite sheltered in there anyway and it's only a short flight I have the worst carbon footprint

31 weeks seems SO CLOSE. Maybe need to rethink the whole leaving everything till after Christmas strategy.

EeyoreIsh · 22/11/2013 15:25

Good to hear back about flights. I've got to go to Brussels again next week (booo) and was thinking about flying. I'll be 30 weeks so I'll need a note. DH isn't happy about me flying, but if it means I can do the trip in a day I'd much prefer it.

shrops, I hope your granny is ok. I hope they take really good care of her.

Shropshiremummy2B · 22/11/2013 17:03

Thank you for all your messages. We arrived at visiting time at 2pm and were greeted with the very sad news that Shropshiregreatgranny2b had passed minutes earlier. The sadest bit is that Daddy is in Ireland til Sunday (and it's his mummy) so we re not sure how to tell him. Strangely I insisted on saying goodbye to her which in hindsight was a very bad idea.

No need to fill the thread with replies, I know you will all be sad for me. She was 100 but I assumed she was invincible! Sad times. As you were x

Shropshiremummy2B · 22/11/2013 17:04

Sound like a total martyr in that post, apologies. I only seem to get upset when people are nice!!!!!

misskatamari · 22/11/2013 17:10

I'm so sorry Shropshire. How awful that your dad is away too. I hope DH and the dogs are looking after you xxx

winterflowers · 22/11/2013 17:20

I don't think saying goodbye to her was a bad idea shrops I think you would have regretted later otherwise. I hope you get well looked after yhis weekend xx

DawnOfTheDee · 22/11/2013 17:20

I think if you make it to 100 then you've got closer to invincible than 99.999999% of the population. So sorry for you loss Shrops x

marzipanned · 22/11/2013 19:39

Shrops I tried to write a not nice message so as not to upset you but I sounded like a sadist. 100 is an amazing age and it sounds like it all happened very quickly. I hope your daddy and rest of the family are okay and agree..lots of DH and dog cuddles for the rest of the weekend xx

CubanoHabana · 22/11/2013 20:12
