Hi girls... miss you all SO much. Wish I was still here. I'll have mumsnet on today.. so feel free to say hi if you want to. I am keeping ok, still waiting on my first period so I can get counting. The Gyno has put me on high dose folic acid for the next pregnancy as well....

I do miss my Little Pea rather a lot. But things happen for a reason and it's best not to linger and move on. Get right back on the horse and all that.

So I shall get my coconut halves out and say 'Onwards Patsy' and gallop off on a quest to start planning Christmas... o.O
Can't believe Christmas is so close already!!

Love you girls LOADS and LOADS ... hug hug hug for you and your bumps xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

thistlelicker · 22/11/2013 09:21

LittleBairn · 22/11/2013 10:36

Well I've had my scan. I did start to get very shaky on the walk down the corridor to maternity, managed to hold it together until the wanted to put me in the same scan room where I found out Noah was dead. Lucky we could change rooms because there is no way I was going into that room.

There cervical scan threw up a bit of a concern there seems to be some fluid trapped by my cervix. Two songraphers took a look, one was concerned the other not so much so they took the photos off to show a consultant.
The consultant said it was fine my cervix is closed at top and bottom and far back enough not to be a concern but they will keep an eye in it.

It seems that they also forgot ( or my original consultant didnt communicate well enough) to properly look at the shape of the sac which was the original point of the scan.

That said I feel fine about everything, I was concerned earlier that I had a leak and this has proven to me I was right and to follow my instincts. Needless to say I'm going to be taking it very easy.

My mantra at the moment is 7 weeks till viability.

SharpLily · 22/11/2013 10:39

None of midwives I see will listen in yet. Say I'm too earlyhmm16+2

How strange! We heard ours at eight, 12 and 13 weeks quite clearly - and I'm now hearing it on a Doppler whenever we feel like it. I wonder why they would say that?

thistlelicker · 22/11/2013 10:41

Because sometimes they can't if u have raised bmi and they know I'm a worrier - I think they more holding out because they know I will worry if can't hear it

Spirael · 22/11/2013 10:54

Lovely to hear from you, PFJ! :) I hope your Christmas is a wonderful one.

Sounds like you did really well, LittleBairn! :) Glad that it seems everything is ok, hopefully they'll keep a close eye on you and all will continue to be fine this time around. Will you get another scan to check the shape of the sac?

Morning sickness has struck again today, bleh. Still not as bad as it was in previous weeks though, just annoying when I'm trying to work! I have a horrible taste in my mouth that just will not go away.

Had little traces more of brown blood, but nothing significant. I have to phone a few people at lunchtime anyway, so I might give my MW a quick call then just to log it but I doubt any actions will need to be taken.

It's made me look forward a little more to when I can feel LO moving around as a comfort they're fine in there. But given I have an anterior placenta again, it's likely to be weeks yet before I get that pleasure! I might feel something before Christmas, but it's more likely to be afterwards.

Is anyone still taking Folic Acid? I am out of habit, but I seem to recall something about being able to stop after the first trimester. But I'm not sure if that's right or not!

DD and DH both have horrible colds at the moment. It's only a matter of time until I get it, isn't it? :( At least they can both take better medicine than just boring old paracetamol!

impatientlywaiting · 22/11/2013 10:55

Little, it sounds like a bit of a traumatic trip. Glad you're feeling reassured. Are you further on in this pregnancy now than when you lost your son?

Are you going to get additional scans to monitor you or will they do it some other way?

Chip86 · 22/11/2013 11:26

Hi PFJ
So good to hear from you and glad your staying positive, look after yourself xxx

Ham your poor DS glad it sounds like he is on the mend

Litttle sorry to hear that, are you having more scans keep an eye on you

16 weeks today a kicking avocardo Smile

LittleBairn · 22/11/2013 11:36

spireal I'm not even sure they knew they were to check the shape of the sac so probably not but we did see the bottom of the sac so in sure she would have noticed if anything looked wrong.

Yes FA doesn't really offer much after 1st trimester, once I've finished my super dose I'm going to stop. If like me you have been previously folate anemic then they sometimes like you to stay on them.
I just find when I take FA I stop eating green veg and natural sources, I would rather have it direct and natural in tablet form.

impatient I lost my son at 16 weeks I'm now 17 weeks so still very close to that time.
I had a PROMS, classified as catastrophic as I lost my waters all a once if I can just get even to 23 weeks and not have my waters break this baby stands a much better chance.

When I have my 20 week scan (at 21 weeks because they still insist on wrong dates) they will do another transvaginal scan and check the cervix. If they are concerned they will put a stitch in, ouch!
But I've to call if I'm concerned about anything.
I did call around 10 weeks because I felt like I was leaking and even with my history I was dismissed and they refused to see me so at least now I should be taken seriously.

I wasn't originally meant to be having this scan I insisted upon it and lucky my consultant was understand but in his opinion it was only to settle my mind. Please please follow you instincts there is a reason for mothers intuition.

impatientlywaiting · 22/11/2013 11:54

Little it must be such a hard time for you. Fingers crossed the time until 23 weeks fly by, and whilst you still might not be able to relax you might be slightly less worried about things (I'm totally kidding myself aren't I? I'm sure we'll never stop worrying)

Squiffie I have an anterior placenta too. When did you start to feel movements last time?

Ditsydebs · 22/11/2013 12:05

Not been on for a while so thought I would say Hi!
16 weeks today and Squid (our nickname for the baby!) is starting to wriggle! Bump is starting to show but only gained 4ib so happy!
Had some bloody discharge yesterday which scared me but has made me realise that I do need to take more care of myself and not to do so much! Having two girls age 8&11 with hectic social life's and after school activities doesn't make taking it easy possible! But I am trying to rest!
20 week scan in four weeks time and we are hoping to find out the gender.
Are there any maybies living in Glasgow?

LittleBairn · 22/11/2013 12:10

impatient lol no we never stop worrying, the joy of motherhood.

dits I'm just outside of Glasgow, in Hamiltion.
Are you using the Southern?

Spirael · 22/11/2013 12:14

I'll stop taking the FA then once I finish the pot, thanks LittleBairn. :) I think I've only got a week or so left in there, I was wondering whether I'd need to get any more.

Guessing I still will need to get some more Vitamin D, however! Nasty powdery pills, bleh.

Did you mean me with the anterior placenta, impatientlywaiting? :) I think I felt movements last time around 23 weeks. I'm hoping to feel them a little earlier this time around because I know what I'm looking for, but I still don't expect much before 20 weeks.

Quite late for initial movements, but at least having an anterior placenta muffles the big kicks later on! I found my sleep was barely disturbed by baby movements. (Bladder squashing is an entirely different story...)

Ditsydebs · 22/11/2013 12:20

LittleBairn I'm in Bearsden and yes will be using the Southern. Really wanted a home birth but hubby won't let me so intend to come home straight from delivery! How about you, are you using the Southern? I drove round to have a look at it last week as new to the area and it looks a dump! Apparently it's a lot nicer on the inside!

LittleBairn · 22/11/2013 12:31

dits No I'm using Wishaw but I can use Sothern if I wanted too.

Lol yes it's a bit of a building site at the moment that's why my DH was against going there, plus the parking is a nightmare.
They have new birth suites and more birthing pools its meant to be really nice. They have a really good reputation my only concern about it is that it can get very overcrowded due to some many hospitals and maternity units being closed in recent years.
But I would defintely choose it over any other hospital in Glasgow.

Ditsydebs · 22/11/2013 12:38

You have put my mind at ease! Was hoping that living in a city that there would be a birthing unit as I hate hospitals but sadly there isn't. I'm hoping that the delivery unit isn't too busy in May as couldn't imagine phoning up and being told they are full, I suppose I might get my home birth if they are though!
There is now a multistorey car park at the southern so parking shouldn't be an issue apparently!

impatientlywaiting · 22/11/2013 13:09

Sorry Spirael I had meant you. I use the app so when I start typing you can't see the posts anymore. Ah 23 weeks seems ages away, but was already condoling myself that I might be pretty thankful when it came to later on and it cushioning some of the stronger kicks.

LittleBairn · 22/11/2013 13:30

dits here are some hoots of the birth unit

Flixy102 · 22/11/2013 14:01

I have my 16 week (at 17 weeks lol) midwife appointment this afternoon, do I need to bring my hospital maternity notes?

LittleBairn · 22/11/2013 14:03

Yes you have to take your notes to every appointment you have with midwives, Drs or songraphers.
