Squeeze ladies! Why am I so crap at remembering to do my pelvic floor exercises...?

MrsGSR · 31/10/2013 19:16

Thank you percy, I keep forgetting!

So many cute trick or treaters tonight! DHs cousin has put a picture on Facebook of her one year old as a pumpkin, awwww!

flyawayblue · 31/10/2013 19:23

Congratulations book brilliant wedding date.

puggle Yes rigby and peller but I really don't rate them. They measured me to big across the back so where never comfortable. I kept them as they where expensive and glad I did as fitted brilliantly for the last few months.

Going to go for support tops I think as the m&s ones don't go down to a small enough back. Or try a back extender until I end work as don't want any monoboobs (tm) at work.

TarkaTheOtter · 31/10/2013 19:27

At our bfing group we recommend getting fitted at 38 weeks as a good indication of what size you will be when you have a 2 week old. Nothing is going to fit well when your milk first comes in as your boobs will be ridiculous for a bit but it should settle down. Ignoring those few days 38 weeks should give you a reasonably accurate measure of your cup size. Only thing that might change is your back measurement as your rib cage might shrink down a bit so better to err on the tight side than the loose bizarrely. IMO worth buying 1 or 2 at 38 weeks then seeing what you like/what size you are once your milk settles down a bit. Also not worth buying loads in case things don't work out with bfing.

We sell the bravado range and they do these vest tops with support so you can just pull your outerwear up and your stomach is still covered. Alternatively hm and primark do cheap stretchy vests that have long enough straps to pull down or you can wear a normal strappy best backwards so the low bit is at the front.

TobyLerone · 31/10/2013 19:31

Wow, those vests are expensive!

BookTart · 31/10/2013 19:41

Cheers everyone :) We've had a record number of trick or treaters this evening and have nearly run out of sweets. I was planning to eat the leftovers later, but I don't think there will be any Haloween Sad

The hot milk name is grim, but I have to say I love the stuff I've got. It feels really nice and doesn't look dowdy like all my other maternity bras. I got it all cheap on Casabu, so it didn't break the bank thankfully.

TarkaTheOtter · 31/10/2013 19:43

The cost price is significantly cheaper than that. That's just the first website I found. We sell them for about £24 I think which includes a few pound donation to our charity.

TobyLerone · 31/10/2013 20:03

Book, we've got a whole bowlful of fun size Milky Ways/Mars bars. We've had no trick or treaters at all :(
You're welcome to our leftovers!

I got a Hot Milk non-wired bra from Casabu and it's awful for monoboob :(

That's slightly better, Tarka!

extracrunchy · 31/10/2013 20:05

Welcome twinkle!

Huge congrats, Book! And yes, Hot Milk is just wrong.

Those looking for good support tops - I've been given some awesome ones made by GlamourMom. Not sure about the name for these either but they have clips and an amazingly supportive built in bra bit. Highly recommended! Would advise maybe a size up as I got a medium and they fit fine in most places but a bit tight round the back.

GummiBear74 · 31/10/2013 20:16

Hi everyone! May I join the influx of newcomers? My EDD is 14 Jan and this is our first, so we're getting far too excited! We're team pink (not that I approve of the boy-girl blue-pink thing).

I've been stalking you following this group for a while now and it's been really encouraging to hear about people going through the same aches, pains & embarrassing bodily functions as me! Finally felt that it's time to delurk now.

Congrats to book, what a cool wedding date!

GummiBear74 · 31/10/2013 20:19

By the way, book, feel free to come round and help yourself to our left over sweets - we've had no trick or treaters either. I bought a whole bucket of mini Haribo bags - if any are left by then, perhaps they'd be good for energy during labour?

MrsGSR · 31/10/2013 20:27

We've got loads of sweets left too, but only because I sent DH out to get a few more bags when we almost ran out.

Bluecarrot · 31/10/2013 20:27

I'm making breastfeeding tops. First type is a vest top with a circle cut out where my nipple is , and wear it under another top (obv!) The second I saw on Pinterest- cut a spaghetti strap a few inches from where it joins at the front. Can be removed at the back. Make it into a loop and hook over the bra nursing clip. Hope that made sense. Google DIY nursing top and you are bound to come across a tutorial (I'm on phone and can't link!)

Plus I plan to use the boob tube type things supposed to cover pregnant belly.

Toothfairy78 · 31/10/2013 20:31

Wow! 5, yes FIVE new ladies!

Count them with me...one new lady, ah ha ha ha...two new ladies ah ha ha...

And so on and so forth...Congratulations and welcome gummi!

Hmm, the haricots has made me think...I'm thinking isotonic, lucozade type drinks. Or maybe some bright orange Viper which I used to use for big sports events for the hospital bag. What are your reckonings?

OP posts:
Toothfairy78 · 31/10/2013 20:33

*haribos not haricots FFS stupid auto correct, who the hell would give kids legumes on Halloween??? Mutter mutter.

OP posts:
extracrunchy · 31/10/2013 21:17

In my experience Lucozade or other energy sweets are better than drinks - less sicky I found and a lot less to consume for the same effect. Also I think I read sucking sweets can be good as you get a dry mouth.

MrsGSR · 31/10/2013 21:50

My sister used to live the Lucozade glucose tablets, they're pretty tasty so I'm planning to have some of them in my hospital bag. The Halloween sweets definitely won't last until January!

enjoyingscience · 31/10/2013 22:37

hello all the new people and happy halloween!

We've had quite a few trick or treaters tonight, but DS went out trick or treating with his friend (I played the 'too pg to walk around in the dark and cold' card - result!) so brought home a whole load more junk to replace what I'd just given away. Most sweets aren't veggie anyway, so I can't even steal them!

I bought a couple of nursing bras last time at 38 weeks, but they were never quite as good as the ones I bought when things had settled, so totally agree with tarka about only getting one or two. I haven't got the chest for a monoboob, even when BFing, sadly, so those vests are ideal for me!

Hope everyone is well and happy.

Frizz1986 · 31/10/2013 23:33

Huge congrats book Hope it was the best day!

Welcome all the newbies Smile

enjoying i am the same as you on the lack of boobs front. They are the biggest they've ever been but still tiny. At least i wont struggle to find bras to fit now.

We haven't had any trick or treaters but we only got 94p lollies so didn't waste any money.

Dh has been secretly painting the nursery and he showed me tonight as he was really excited with what he had done, i cried! He has done really well and we have now got our stickers on the way for the walls.

This weekend i am going to town to get everything for my hospital bag and then on sunday we might put stuff up in the nursery!! 30 weeks tomorrow, yay!! (oh crap)

extracrunchy · 31/10/2013 23:39

Aw Frizz that's so sweet of your DH! Exciting now you can turn it into a little bedroom too Smile

extracrunchy · 01/11/2013 00:18

I can't sleep cos feel like I'm going to barf and have done all day. Waaaah. Can morning sickness come back at 32 weeks..?! Bleurgh.

TobyLerone · 01/11/2013 05:59

How sweet, Frizz :)

Ugh, enjoying. Poor you. Hope you feel better after some sleep.

I am Envy of the small boobs.

GummiBear74 · 01/11/2013 06:42

Nobody is ever happy with their boobs! I was so excited when I got measured at 16 weeks to be told that I'd gone up 2 whole cup sizes, from A to C. 'Normal' sized boobs at last! Not much progress since then, and they're dwarfed by the bump, but small pleasures, eh?
So the advice is to go for the support vest thingies at first? Good thing, no one in their right mind would go near the shops to be measured in late December when loads of us will be 38 weeks!

TobyLerone · 01/11/2013 06:45

Excellent point!

Naturegirl82 · 01/11/2013 06:53

congrats book

That's so sweet Frizz. Sounds like your Dh is feeling a little better about things as well.

All I have to add is TFI FRIDAY
