February 2014. The cake mix is in the mug, the microwave is on, it's slowly rising and we'll be pinging in three more months!

Sadly my cake mix is rising too much and resulting in a serious muffin top.

Champagne, yes, I would not feel comfortable seating Grin

jazzcat28 · 23/10/2013 17:13

lovestobake I was on the SW trains site researching season tickets for my DH but spotted the link for mums to be and thought it looked interesting. Unfortunately my commute can only be done by car and so I'm having to endure a 90min journey each way at the moment (made worse at present by bad weather conditions).

Hoping to discuss flexible working patterns in my appraisal meeting/maternity leave discussion tomorrow. My line manager is pretty accepting of the proposal, but it doesn't stop meetings appearing in my diary which actually mean I have to be here almost every day when I thought we'd agreed to try and cut it down to 3 days office 2 days at home Hmm

EeyoreIsh · 23/10/2013 17:14

I agree about the awful commute. I'm so lucky that I almost always get a seat on my normal commute, but rarely do if I'm going anywhere by bus or tube. It gives me the proper preggo rage!

I've been so unproductive today, I've had DH back from his interview (not that good he thinks Sad ), the guys to do the en suite, MIL, and then a man about some carpet. I've cancelled driving lesson so I can crack on with some work.

I've lost track of the thread, but was it champs who said about the pre anti d blood tests? I've got to have the same, but they said to do it immediately before. I don't know how they'll have the results in time... the impact on work is getting more and more with antenatal appointments every three weeks, and soon the classes that all seem to be during the day in my area.

hmm, she definitely said the same day as she told me to have the tests and then go to the first floor for the jab. I may phone and check! At least she remembered about the tests, the midwife I actually saw today didn't mention anything, so the forms are getting sent to me.

It's all so confusing to the pregnant brain Grin

clearly your area is more organised than mine! I've not had a letter, it's all been a bit shambolic.

I had anti d at 13 weeks and it was fine. But we'll see if that's the case with the bigger 28 week dose! It really didn't hurt at all.

Whoput - I'm glad I'm not the only one taking just 12 weeks off! I felt like I was neglecting my baby by leaving him so young, but i can't afford to be off any longer!
No stretch marks here yet either but I'm paranoid and check everyday!

Zazou1 · 23/10/2013 18:21

Omg re stretch marks....none on my tummy yet but my boobs are now so gigantic I've got some there....despite using about 25 bottles of bio oil so far....aargh Angry

Am so jealous of people eating cake...stoopid GD means its a no no....am consoling myself with crisps!!

How do you post a pic on the FB page without all your other friends seeing? Is there a way? Want to post a bump pic but not necessarily have all my friends see it as there are random people I'm friends with on FB!

24+4

EeyoreIsh · 23/10/2013 18:23

The 13 week anti d was because I had a bleed. The only thing is say from that experience is that they like to keep you in for a little while after the jab, so book enough time out of the office. It also took time to get the medicine, and to find another midwife to double check everything. I had to send DH off for emergency food supplies!

I'm pretty sure I've never had a letter but our house is such chaos at the moment I wouldn't rule it out!

EeyoreIsh · 23/10/2013 18:25

zazou sorry, I'll shut up about cake! If you go to the fab Feb group, there should be a little button for sharing photos. On my phone, it has a little bear icon in the corner when I'm adding comments to the photo, so I know for sure it's only going to our hidden group.

Welcome to the newbies!

Two house prospects today - visiting them over the next couple of days. Excited but terrified that we've left it too late and all the chemicals and horrific rot in our house are doing the little wriggler damage.

Champers I was thinking of you today as I went for a really blustery, autumnal walk...remember how we dreamed of cold days and falling leaves?

Camwombat · 23/10/2013 18:48

Not wanting to add to peoples lists of things to do. But have you considered looking at nurseries and getting on waiting lists for them already.
I say this because certainly in Cambridge, nursery places were at a premium and many decent ones have long waiting lists.

Shropshiremummy2B · 23/10/2013 18:56

camwombat eeeek I'm so excited about my nursery, I've booked baby in for every Friday from the 1st august regardless or not if I go back to work. It was sooooo nice and on a big farm. I want to go!!

That sounds a great nursery, can I come too?!
Friends have had trouble getting theirs into nurseries, especially if they only wanted part time, and one of them is still waiting for a place at the nursery she'd like them to be at two years later (they are at a different one).
I gave up when I realised nursery hours combined with both our jobs hours didnt work at all.

Zazou1 · 23/10/2013 19:10

Fab thanks Eeyore-will give it a whirl!

sunflowered · 23/10/2013 19:24

I'm not going back until feb 2015 - do I need to put the bump's name down for a nursery already?! Sad

Camwombat · 23/10/2013 19:28

It probably all depends where you live on the pressure put on the nurseries for places. If you are taking a years mat leave, you can probably wait til baby is born. I'm sure a nursery won't mind if you call and ask whether they have waiting lists though.

Starbellybigbelly · 23/10/2013 19:36

Hello ladies, I'm feeling a bit worried about the anti d injection now! I am having mine on my 28 week check up with my mw which is Nov 7th and too scared to google now :\ are there side effects?

misskatamari · 23/10/2013 19:37

Oh my God I want pate and champagne and beer and brie!!!!!

I've caught up with the thread but now can't remember who's said what so apologies if my comments make no sense.

Ugh I saw a thread before (I think in AIBU) where someone was moaning about baby on board badges and I wanted to punch all the horrid women on there saying preggos didn't deserve seats. If mumsnetters wont even give up their seats what hope do we have elsewhere?

Mmmmm i've just had a fish finger sandwich for tea and it was bloody amazing. Really want cake too. I've not baked in ages but hopefully will be able to make some scrummy things when on half term next week.

No stretch marks yet although I agree there is still lots of growing to do so we shall see how things progress!

Eeeek not thought about nurseries etc at all yet but it is probably something i should consider. Has anyone any idea on the main differences between nursery and child minder? I know when I was little I went to a childminder and then started nursery for a few mornings/days a week when I was a bit older (3 maybe?) but this is all from memory so I actually have no idea and don't know what people do nowadays.

Ooooh I know yesterday someone mentioned getting a preggo yoga dvd. Any suggestions of a good one to get? To be fair I have had two preggo exercise dvds for the last few months and have failed to even remove the packaging, but I MUST do some bloody exercise soon. Half term perhaps. Lol, I am getting a lot done in this half term aren't I. So far my plans involve facial, hair cut, baking, relaxing, starting exercise, eating lots of fruit, oh yes and relaxing. And maybe painting the babies room. We shall see what I actually get done. Probably the sitting on my arse option not currently mentioned Grin.

Loving all the bump pics today! Will try and get one done when i dont look a right state Smile
