Thank you for all the fab swimming tips! Will definitely dive in in the next couple of weeks. I'm having a coil fitted on Monday terrified much so that should resolve the disappearing AF scenario.

Hello Merk definitely max out on the sleep- there's no such thing as too much when you're upduffed!

And Mother I am a veteran of many sports and many sporting injuries- never has cramp been more painful than in late pregnancy. Worse than labour (for me!) You have my sympathy!

BraveLilBear · 19/10/2013 11:14

X post Mother - are you ok? Make sure you drink plenty and take it easy. Sofa plus pooch sounds good...

MotherOfCleo · 19/10/2013 11:38

Yeah I'll be fine brave, just feeling a bit feable. Fine when sat down just all wobbly when standing. Confused Made for an interesting shower this morning.

I'm thinking of going the coil route afterwards too, so hope it goes ok for you.

Mother I have had that dizzy/weak thing a couple of times, started to take Spatone sachets in case it was my iron levels...haven't had one since, maybe worth a go?

MotherOfCleo · 19/10/2013 13:02

oh thanks for the tip quod, will look into it Grin

Alexandra6 · 19/10/2013 14:12

mother I've felt like that a few times, midwife said my blood pressure was a bit on the low side so that could be why too? She said it was nothing to worry about and better than high. Take it nice and easy.

I just stupidly crawled into the new loft extension eaves to check for signs of leaks and got a bit stuck, luckily DH was around to heave me back out but asked why I was crawling around with bumpy - I've decided it's much safer if I stay on the sofa with cake Grin

MotherOfCleo · 19/10/2013 16:49

I text my OH over an hour ago asking when he would be home, no reply. Makes me wonder if I'll be able to get a response when I go into labour. For all he knows I could be in labour now.....damn men huh.

BraveLilBear · 19/10/2013 17:14

Lol at getting stuck in the roof!

Cake is definitely safe :)

Mother my OH was like that too, drove me mad. I find that texting 'Call me URGENT' does the trick- if he didn'trrespond to that I'd recommend castration.

Use sparingly tho - boy, wolf and all that! Bit shoddy him not responding tho when you're not feeling amazing. Hope he shows up soon and is suitably apologetic when you explain that, you know, your full term and could have a baby any minute.

MotherOfCleo · 19/10/2013 17:47

He text me saying he'll be back in an hour. Yeah he'd poop his pants if I text him that....almost worth it to see him freak out Wink Wink

MotherOfCleo · 19/10/2013 17:49

alex our bedroom is in the loft so we have a tiny little slither of loft accessible through a little door. I put all my winter clothes away in bin bags and now am too scared to crawl in their to get any of them as I think I'll get stuck like you did......ooops.

HazleNutt · 19/10/2013 21:00

Can I just say that even if an all-inclusive hotel at a tourist resort is something you wouldn't normally touch with a barge pole, I can totally recommend it with a baby. Someone else to do your cooking and cleaning, and you don't have to worry about bringing all the gear and wearing BF-friendly clothes - can always just go back to the room from the pool, beach or restaurants when the baby needs to be changed or fed. Brilliant.

Viki has had tons of fun, being cooed over by everyone here, and he smiles back at everybody as well. There have been a couple of cats-bum faces and one old bat even told us that we shouldn't travel with such a young baby, but I really don't see how taking a bus to a supermarket is that much different from the baby's perspective.

CatsCantFlyFast · 20/10/2013 09:33

Question - have any of you had leaking nipples or started peeing yourselves during pregnancy? I'm fine at the moment but keep waking up in dread that this will happen to me at work unexpectedly, and wonder if I should be prepared?

MotherOfCleo · 20/10/2013 09:48

hi merk, my boobs have proved they do work but they haven't leaked as yet I haven't peed myseld either so I think you're pretty safe Wink Grin

It's weird all the crazy stuff you start imagining isn't it. Smile

Cavort · 20/10/2013 10:03

Merk yes I had both Blush luckily not too badly. The only time I peed myself was a few times while throwing up, which only happened right at the beginning and right at the end of pregnancy and it was thankfully only ever a little bit. I do know women who leaked badly every time they coughed or sneezed though and had to wear Tena Lady while pregnant. The good news is that it has never happened since the birth. My nipples leaked in bed a few times towards the end of the second trimester. I think it only happened while I was lying on my side and my arm was squashing my boob so colostrum leaked all over my arm - it was a bit of a shock discovering this for the first time in the dark! I found that wearing quite a firm crop top/sports bra in bed stopped it from happening.

Hazle that is outrageous about not travelling with a baby! Does this also apply to long car journeys? Should we all be housebound until they are teenagers? Glad you are all having a good time though. Smile

Sorry Alex but Grin at the thought of you stuck in the eaves!

Cavort · 20/10/2013 10:06

... and I was never too worried about the peeing and leaking, it was the piles which were my fear! I didn't get any throughout pregnancy only to discover I had some after the birth after an hour of pushing. Angry

Alexandra6 · 20/10/2013 10:36

Ouch, just tried squeezing my boobs hard and prodding them to see if any action going on, nothing apart from sore boobs now! Maybe I'll leave them alone but I've been curious about when they might show signs they're working! No Tenna lady situations here yet, phew.

BelissimaLol · 20/10/2013 15:43

I never leaked and also had nothing when squeezing nipples but don't worry Alex! I now have plenty of milkGrin.
I did wee myself on a couple of occasions Blush- only a small bit after a bout of laughter!!
Unhappy with dh and his selfish ways again. He was out for the whole day yesterday on a lads day out, then stayed up until 3 on the Xbox and complained this morning he was too tired to look after baby Angry. At that point I went downstairs to watch eastenders and left him to keep her/ change her and entertain her (it was just after 8). He was not impressed. What a shame Grin

janey1234 · 20/10/2013 15:54

Good work. Surely if he's been lucky enough to have a whole day off he has to do EVERYTHING the following day as punishment to do his fair share.

Absolutely no leaking boobs for me, was always moaning about them being broken. But they work find now - as Miles will vouch, he just pulled away mid feed and milk started spraying all over his face. Kind of made me laugh as he knew he was trying to latch on again but couldn't open his eyes for long enough to see what he was doing.

Wee wise - and I've never told anyone this - I had a teeny tiny leak once, right towards the end, when I was being violently sick from heartburn in the middle of the night. Nothing since thank goodness, and if I'm honest, I did wonder if it was due to pregnancy or just being ancient. I only say that because I have a friend quite a bit older than me who told me she did a wee whilst being sick a few years ago, and she's never had children...

(Alex - if you've worked out who this is you must pretend you have no idea when you meet her at the wedding next year!)

Alexandra6 · 20/10/2013 17:18

It's going to be my opening line! Grin

Cavort · 20/10/2013 21:57

We took Elodie to an 8pm fireworks display tonight, which was/is a bit of a gamble as she's usually asleep by 7ish so we'll see what fun tonight brings after a late night. She's only just settled off properly for the night but did nod off in the pushchair a few times, including bizarrely right in the middle of the very loud display. How do babies do that? And then other times she'll wake up when a fly farts outside the window Confused

BelissimaLol · 20/10/2013 22:23

I often wonder the same thing!! Babies seem to be able to sleep in the middle of a very loud playgroup but suddenly be woken up by a sneeze!!
I'm off for the night after being sucked on for over an hour this evening! Confused

MotherOfCleo · 20/10/2013 22:24

Finally ordered my TENs machine, been meaning to do it for aggggeeeesssss, no idea why it's taken me so long! Bit annoyed with myself really Blush

MotherOfCleo · 20/10/2013 22:25

I agree babies are funny like that, awesome description too cav.

MotherOfCleo · 21/10/2013 08:19

Wonders will never cease, woke up in a panic hearing the binmen and knowing I didnt put the bin out. The OH had only gone and done it last night without any prompting.....first time in the 2+ years we've lived here Wink Grin
