Thanks to the nice person who added me to the sheet.

Good luck shire.

Been on a long walk today, hopefully will start something.

Does anyone know will the me try a sweep before 40 wks? I have an appt tomorrow and will be 39+4 and am really hoping she might try one to get things going, fed up now.

cazboldy · 06/10/2013 14:30

Good Luck Shire Smile

Well the calves have got a 2nd, 3rd and 10th in their classes - am pretty chuffed for the boys...... It's for calves from the whole of Britain!

Least they should be home by about 8pm, and don't want to jinx it, but at least it looks like baby has waited for them to come home Grin

Glad you can go home chickie Smile

kd83 · 06/10/2013 14:32

*mw try a sweep, that is!!

Wickedgirl · 06/10/2013 14:34

Good luck shire (not impressed that you're pushing in though) Grin I hope everything goes well for you

Caz, how impressive!

chickieno1 · 06/10/2013 14:38

thats great caz. you must be proud. and good baby waited for the boys to come home :)

Natalieand · 06/10/2013 14:45

Eeeek good luck shire

The words fun and run in a sentence together..... Didn't even no that could happen

I can barely walk never mind much else lol

cazboldy · 06/10/2013 14:54

lol Nat - I agree! Grin

ananikifo · 06/10/2013 14:58

Congrats funkky and bowlful!

And good luck shire!

Today I'm 37+5 and happily SC.

DH is sleeping off his man flu awful cold upstairs and I am making a list of all the freezer meals I'm going to cook. So you see, baby can't come today, or even next week.

MrsHoratioNelson · 06/10/2013 15:09

Gah! Two neighbours have just rung the bell to see if there is any news. The woman with the badly trained dog from across the road called out to me "still waiting then?" earlier. It doesn't seem to have occurred to anybody that I might be more impatient than anyone to get things going!

I may not be responsible for my actions to the next person who asks me. I'm "only" 40+3. How does anyone cope with going two weeks over :(

ImpOfDarkness · 06/10/2013 15:25

IUI was on 27th Jan pink so in theory I'm just behind you!

apperleydapperley · 06/10/2013 15:30

oooh good luck shire and congrats funkky Thanks

good that you can go home chickie

kd83 I think it depends on your area as to what point you can have a sweep - in ours you have to be over 40 weeks, so the mw made my appointment for when i'm 40 + 2 so that she can do one on weds for me... but maybe yours can be done sooner. Also getting fed up here now and wondering how I would cope to 42 weeks (aaaargh!)

PseudoBadger · 06/10/2013 16:17

Good luck Shire!

I am worn out! We've done the aforementioned dog walk, been to Argos, Pets At Home (known as "the chicken shop" by DS) and the supermarket. I'm so sore now and worrying at every Braxton hicks and twinge....

My hospital recovery bag now contains Percy pigs, fizzy cola bottles, Viennese sandwich biscuits, apple and mango juice cartons, dole tropical fruit pots, dried mango and apricots. I think that's it!

legallyblond · 06/10/2013 16:23

Ace hospital bag for post CS Pseudo! Mine had the same sweets as you(!), taste the difference shortbread, same dried fruit(!), apple juice cartons and kettle chips! I keep harping on, but I recommend peppermint oil and arnica the moment you're out of theatre!!

GeorgieJo · 06/10/2013 16:31

Hello! Joining this thread for the first time. I was due yesterday. DC1 and it is a boy. I am in OK shape but worried I haven't felt anything remotely like early labour.

If anything have had fewer Braxton Hicks in the last 10 days and while his head was very low this time last week, now feels like he has drifted higher up again...

Resigning myself to likeanother week or so of pregna

GeorgieJo · 06/10/2013 16:32

Oops, sent too soon!

Meant to say: resigning myself to another week or so of pregnancy. But have been inspired by the hospital bag suggestions - Percy Pigs are a brilliant idea!

PseudoBadger · 06/10/2013 16:33

I also have peppermint oil capsules and peppermint tea :)

PseudoBadger · 06/10/2013 16:34

If I'm honest I'm worried about the lack of crisps.... But DP can go to the shop :o

AnythingNotEverything · 06/10/2013 16:38

Welcome Georgie!

Wow. More babies and another in labour - too many to name check but congrats and good luck.

I'm really hoping I won't have to wait too much longer. I'm 38+4, suddenly got my waddle on yesterday as baby has definitely dropped, and I started at 39 weeks with DS. Don't want to push in, but am ready for baby to come now!

Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine today. I'm taking the chance to relax with the papers. Not sure I'll get chance over the next few weekends ...

OrangeBlossom2 · 06/10/2013 17:23

In laws gone now, was all fine. DH finally told them we are not going to tell them our name choices. Mil spent the morning weeding our garden and edging our lawn! DH liked his birthday cake (same type I made last week for school). They bought lots of baby toiletries and baby bjorn chair which I love.

So tired now even though haven't done much all day.

Is painful wind just a c section thing or does everyone get it after giving birth?

Ooh good luck shire, I hope things move along nicely.
Did we hear from Rachel?

OrangeBlossom2 · 06/10/2013 17:23

Welcome Georgie

Tarlia · 06/10/2013 17:25

Good luck shire! I can't believe another 13ther is queue jumping hehe.

badger sounds like you've chosen some good snacks there. Yum! This time tomorrow you'll be hugging your baby girl! Does DS understand what's going to happen ish?

How long after your CS could you eat/drink? A carton of orange juice 5 hours was making me throw up :/ One of my sterile strips has fallen off, so have a peek of my scar :( sob

Welcome, gorgie :)

Tarlia · 06/10/2013 17:30

Cross posted with you orange. BB chair is fab! It pretty much kept my sanity with DS1 (who wouldn't be put down) as got to have a quick shower while he sat in it and listened to classical music. Already using with DS2! Wind is def just a CS thing though reccomend dried fruit and juice cartons as if you get a tear the first poop might feel a bit scary - though mine didn't hurt at all with DS1.

funkky · 06/10/2013 17:30

Thanks all! Baby is feeding all the time but his blood sugar is low. Paediatrician reckons cause of his size he needs a top up until my milk comes in cause he seems never full from the colostrum and nipples are sore!

Fingers crossed we can leave hospital today. Everything hurts though second degree tear stitches seem to be healing nicely

Mnippy · 06/10/2013 17:31

Bowlful - congrats!!!

Shire - best of luck queue-jumper!

Flyer - sorry to hear about your DH. Although DP is on pat leave now, he is often the same (i.e. working on sunny weekend days...) and I feel a bit like I'm missing out on fun relaxing family time.

funkky · 06/10/2013 17:35

Good luck shire!
