Morning all! And welcome Wheelybug

MS is still going strong - although slightly better than yesterday, thanks. I'm told it tends to be worst at around 9 weeks.

It's 'orrible, but I don't mind, cause I've got my bean to cheer me up.

I'm a self-employed teacher. Don't want to say too much as my job is VERY specific, and someone will guess who I am.

Anyway, I feel very lucky, as my summer holiday starts next week, and don't have to go back to work until September. Talk about good timing!

spook · 12/07/2006 12:53

Hello everyone! Can I be in yur gang? My babe due March 3rd-sliding it in before my 40th birthday on the 12th!!
I feel absolutely great apart from very tired and boobs that feel like they've done 5 rounds with Mike Tyson.
Not sick atall-but wasn't really sick with my other 2 pregnancies

Booboobedoo · 12/07/2006 14:43

Hi spook! Welcome to the thread

Our stats thread is here if you want to post on it (so we can have a nose at your age etc).

Have done nothing today. Am crap.

wheelybug · 12/07/2006 15:50

Hi All - welcome Spook !

I feel a bit rubbish today although think I might be coming down with a cold as am all achey and have a bit of a sore throat.

Talking of chests, as you were last night, do we have to be thinking of maternity bras this early ? I can't remember from last time... I think I just waited until I outgrew my normal ones ....

LaidbackinAsia · 12/07/2006 16:05

Hello everyone

Have been lurking about for a few weeks on TTC thread. Got BFP yesterday. Due 16th March. Very excited !!!

Live in Sri Lanka, home educate kids amongst other things. Realise my chat name looks like I got laid in Asia (which I did) . But really mean Chilled out in Asia ...maybe I should change it ??

spook · 12/07/2006 16:20

I've done sod all today too. My DS's are with their dad and I have lay on the sofa eating midget gems and generally being a lazy arse. BUT-school holidays have started and I have been exemplary till today (yeah right)
Wheelybug-don't think theres any point getting maternity bra yet because they certainly haven't stopped growing yet!! Theres alot more life in them believe it or not!!

1973magpie · 12/07/2006 16:37

Hi all, sorry for not replying to posts from last night, have just been so tired that I have been in bed by 9 the past two nights!

As for the work thing, I'm sure that am worrying about nothing, probably just hormones, but hey I guess that's par for the course

Still don't feel particularly pregnant tho', just the tiredness and sore boobs. I have cracked and told my mate at work, but have sworn her to strict secrecy!

When is the best time to tell your employer? I want to let them know the reason for my increased vacantness and sleepiness, but don't want to jinx myself by telling too early

Sorry for the super-long post, obviously had more to say than I thought

Booboobedoo · 12/07/2006 18:14

Hi laidback... - welcome and congratulations Which bit of Asia are you in? The same bit you got laid in?

I should be called bonkedinbrixton in that case.

Hey spook - glad to hear I'm not the only lazy one. Didn't really do anything until 5 as I was feeling so rough, but then had to get up and walk the dog, and actually it's made me feel better. Must try harder tomorrow.

Re maternity bras, I'm going to go and get a couple of bigger bras in a couple of weeks as boobs have grown already and I've only got one sports bra. Only cheap ones, though, as it looks as though they may get pretty whopping...

Can't help you with the colleagues/boss-teling thing, as I'm my own boss.

Still love writing that.

stretchmarks · 12/07/2006 19:02

HI everyone,

Just reading through the maternity bra stuff - I was having a look on the web yesterday as mine have never deflated since the last pregnancy and they were big to start with - am panicking now that if they grow too much this time I can't actually find anywhere that sells them any bigger - may need to just get some industrial scaffolding to hold them up !!!!

Re - telling work - it's always a worry although my employer has a good maternity policy and stuff you just know that people will be a bit peeved because of the hassle and extra planning that they'll need to do. Still I'll have to tell them soon as I nearly forgot today and was telling one of my team to book my diary up for next year suggesting that he goes upto Easter then realised what I was saying and had to backtrack and say don't worry about anything past xmas at the moment. Am rambling on as hubby is out - will go now and put LO to bed

Jaysecond · 12/07/2006 19:17

Evening pregnant ones..... hi to spook and Laidbackinasia, can i just say laid, or asia, thats a long id to type!!!!!!
Just put my LO to bed, shes a good girl, only 6months but never moans or crys when its bedtime, mind you i have had her in the same routing since about 10 weeks old, some routines are worth their weight in gold!
DH not here today or tomorrow, he sometimes has to work abroad, and got a call yesterday so had to leave really early this moring, i dont mind too much though, its only ever for a couple of days, and sometimes its nice for the 'pleasing myself time'
Re maternity bras, i still have three from my last pregnancy, well it wasnt that long ago and i also have four feedig bras that i can use. Trying to remember when i got them the first time, i think it was about8-10 weeks in, i didnt change much b4 then. I havnt gone back to pre pregnacy size ( i stopped BF at 5 ish months) but am somewhere inbetween. I was told at the start of pregnancy that any bra other than an underwired one is the best, so if you have some then id leave maternity ones for a bit till you start pumping up! I know what you mean Stetchmark, 'industrial scaffolding' made me laugh, my DH called mine boulder holders! bless him!

themum · 12/07/2006 19:26

I am a bit worried about SPD too. Had it a little with DS1 and a lot with DS2 and I've heard it can get worse with each PGY. Does anyone know if thats likely?

Soooooo tired.

Jaysecond · 12/07/2006 19:29

'pleasing myself time' meant in the , shall i have tea or not, will i go to bed early or i can watch what i want on the tele sense, NOTHING ELSE.....!!!!!!!! I just realised you could read it in another sense ... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Jaysecond · 12/07/2006 19:37

mum, i was told by MW physio, and Osteopath that its likely to re occur with each pregnacy. However you can do certain things to try and make it less severe. I.E

sleep in a silky nightie ( to aid in turning over in bed at night)
If you drive, sit on a plastic bag. When you get in and out, keep your knees together and 'swivel ' on the bag to get into position.
Lieing flat on your back, place your fingers tips on your hips, move them about an inch inwards, toward your belly button, gently press down and hold, then without moving anything else, sqeeze in the DEEP tummy muscles hold for 10 and release. do this as often as you can, you can feel the muscles tighning and relaxing with yr finger tips. This will help to strengthen and tighten the pelvic girdle muscles and in theory help to keep the pelvis from moving too much.
BE VERY CAREFUL IN THE SHOWER any slipping of any type can pull the muscles and can provoke it into starting.
I also had a maternity belt. Which i wore if i knew i had to be doing things all day, it was very supportive, try and get the really wide one not the skinny one, did nothing for me, it did help to support.
and the thing that is the most difficult, try not to walk too much... not easy with other kids i know!!
Hope this helps a bit, sorry if youve heard it all before!

themum · 12/07/2006 19:54

thanks jaysecond. Thats very clever about the nighties and the plastic bag. I think the turning over in bed bit was the worst for me.

Piffle · 12/07/2006 19:58

I'm also going to crash the party
Amazing me Trace and Hopecat are all due the same month from the ttc boards. Lets hope we're trailblazers
I'm desperately hoping this pregnancy is going to stick [anxious emoticon]

Got bfp today lots of them
very early for me to test but hey ho

trace2 · 12/07/2006 20:00

way hay Piffle , so glad you here

Jaysecond · 12/07/2006 20:03

Same as me Mum, turning over used to wake me up, if i wasnt already awake!!
Welcome piffle to our swaree! Its great that you , boo ( formally hopecat) and trace have all conceived together, must have some real positive vibes on the ttc thread! Fingers crossed ( and everything else) that this it the pregancy for you!!

wheelybug · 12/07/2006 20:04

Hi again all (see knew I'd be addicted again once I started posting !!)

thanks for your thoughts on bras ! I thought the idea was to not wear underwired ones once you were pg to'help' growth ?! I too didn't go back down much since being pg with dd so am hoping not to inflate too much ! Typically, I had a blitz of my undies drawer a couple of weeks ago and through out all my bf-ing bras etc.

As for telling work - if you're really suffering and have a boss that will keep it quiet I would tell them asap. After all, I guess if the worst happened they would probably need to know. I DID wait till 13 weeks last time as I felt fine and this time my only boss is 17 months old and she couldn't care less how I am feeling so long as I sing row row your boat to her ad nauseum !!

wheelybug · 12/07/2006 20:05

meant to say hello to ...Asia and also hello to piffle !!Congrats.

Jaysecond · 12/07/2006 20:09

there are far worse addictions wheelybug! i had to give them up though prior to dd1!! hehehe

your right re the bras not being underwired, it helps to protect the ducts that will eventually produce your milk. Although as i still have milk i dont see how it wil hurt if wear one with underwire once in a while! lol

trace2 · 12/07/2006 20:11

forget to say hi to new ones, and my boobs are very big now god nows how i will carry them

Piffle · 12/07/2006 20:35

do not even get me started on boobs.
I am already big busted 34 F normally I loathe them and am getting a reduction as soon as I am done having babies.
they go enormous in pregnancy, I shudder to even think, I know last time they grew really early on.

Jaysecond · 13/07/2006 06:15

Morning all!!!
