thistlelicker · 02/10/2013 21:38

Yep and sometime they look disgusted when you say you have no symptoms!!!

LongTailedTit · 02/10/2013 21:39

Adding to the Maternity Notes Rainbow, mine are a fetching shade of lilac!

Still feeling grim, but DH is off work for a couple of weeks holiday so he's been doing most of the cooking and helping with DS mostly willingly.
My symptoms are constant MS sans vom, boobs like cactus grenades, and blood pressure so low it's getting annoying (85 over 50 last they checked).
Such fun. Wink

That's sounds pretty rotten LongTailedTit - will you get any treatment if the low BP continues?

PFJ - I think every woman going though pg and childbirth is pretty bloody brave, but I'm not as brave as much as I am a control freak Blush I really hated having labour 'done to me' last time with the induction and witch of a reg attending. If HB didn't go to plan and I ended up in hospital again it would be another cs for sure.

Re symptoms, DH finally noticed the increase in boobage - shame for him I don't want him anywhere near me as they hurt like hell Grin and no DH massage won't make them feel better!

Chip86 · 02/10/2013 21:59

Boogies yes i get thouse looks my sis inlaw wanted day updates but i got board of texting fine today

my butt is so big i could put a cup of tea on it and walk around Shock

LongTailedTit · 02/10/2013 22:14

Jessica No, no treatment as such for low BP, just advice to eat salty snacks (shame I don't like crisps!), and avoid getting up quickly. Not terribly helpful.

A friend had v v low BP during her pregnancies and told me that she drank 4 litres of water a day to help combat it - I assume this may have upped her blood volume a little? I know I get worse if I don't drink enough, but I struggle to even get 2L a day in, let alone 4...

I had a proper 'funny turn' in Boots yesterday and had to sit down for 20 mins - other than that I just feel awful if I bend down for anything or climb the stairs too quickly.
Morning sickness and low blood pressure is a particularly lame combination!

JessicaTheWereRRRabbit · 02/10/2013 22:24

The Boots thing sounds horrible Long - you were't on your own were you?

What junk are you partial to? I think digestive biscuits are quite salty Smile

ThePFJ · 02/10/2013 22:44

Hi Chip Smile
It's not you being dippy it's pregnant brain. If I remember correctly... I know right - do I remember it correctly... har har... we lose about 17% of our IQ's during pregnancy. Part of our brain gets softer than normal due to the hormones, ready to flush us with 'Awww Look At The Baby' feelings after the long labour - so we forget all the pain and focus on the baby. Our IQ's come back to complete normal by 6 months after baby is born.
Anyone who wants to look this up to see if I DO need correcting on this please feel free!
I DO know that MY power to do Maths has diminished. It's very very frustrating. o.O

Night all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

LongTailedTit · 02/10/2013 22:45

No, DH was with me thank goodness! I sent him off to get me a bottle of water while I flopped on the chair at Prescriptions. :)

I dare not pick up the dark chocolate digestives again - I ate billions when I was sofa-bound BFing a tiny DS, had quite the shock when I found out that 3 or 4 was the calorie equivalent of a main meal. Shock
At least that explains the size of my behind tho!

I've discovered those Dolé fruit jellies, they're yum, deliberately not checking the nutritional info for now...

moominleigh94 · 02/10/2013 23:16

I am so full. I can't even move I am that full. I found one of the perks of being pregnant tonight; because I seem to be rocking a slight bump anyway (mainly just swelling and water retention, I'm guessing) so food baby is a) nearly unnoticable and b) can be written off as "I'm pregnant".

Frankie and Benny's is amazing but OHMYGODDDDDD. I can't move. Blah.

I shouldn't be allowed out in public. A couple in the restaurant were filming all around the restaurant, taking a video of the interior, and at one point when the camera was passing us, I pulled a face... think This but ten times creepier! So I've probably ruined their video Hmm

Magpie78 · 02/10/2013 23:44

That picture just made me make a highly attractive snorting sound lol.

JessicaTheWereRRRabbit · 03/10/2013 06:58

Morning all, DS just woke me up via the monitor - I fell asleep on the bloody couch! Must start going to bed earlier.

Long I think that you need the digestives - it's for your health Wink You could always be really spartan and get the naked boring ones Grin I really fancy some jelly now too and it's not even 7am...

PFJ 17% reduction makes a lot of sense lol.

Glad you had a good night moomin.

dobedobedo · 03/10/2013 07:28

Morning! I'm at my desk already awaiting a lift to Peterborough (so I don't have to get the bus anymore thank Jeebus). One puke so far this morning so let's hope I don't be sick all over my sales director's lovely new audi posh car! Blush

mumof2aimingfor4 · 03/10/2013 07:45

Good morning girly wirlies.

Those lovely ladies of you that use the travel bands to push back your nausea, how well are they working for you?

I woke up last night at 1.30am feeling so sick I wretched but thankfully nothing came out (tmi sorry, I am petrified of being sick). Spent the rest of the night propped up in bed feeling sick. Feel even worse this morning. :(

7 weeks today - finally i have a blueberry!

JessicaTheWereRRRabbit · 03/10/2013 08:37

Fx that your ms stays out of the way today now dobe and mumof2.

Squiffie how are you feeling this morning? UTIs are nasty bloody things aren't they?

Raspberry+5 today Smile

bushprincess · 03/10/2013 08:55

Morning all! Finally have got a date for first appointment with the obsteatrician... next weds morning, by which point i should be 9 wks .... not sure when i'll get a scan, apparently he does his own ultrasound, so .fx the same day.... can't wait to have something to confirm that I'm not making this up! (BFP seems AGES ago!)

cookies, flixy, impatiently, thistle we're all in the same symptom free club..... i know i should be grateful to get away without ms, but the reassurance would sure come in handy!

That doesn't mean I'm not sympathetic to all of you with ms.. must be terrible, hope the sea sickness bands and gingernuts are helping.

long dark chocolate digestives......yummy ! Definitely worth the calories and you do have you bp to think of!

RosesInTheRain · 03/10/2013 09:01

not sure about the travel bands tbh, I wear them most days but I'm not sure they do much really. Midwife saw I was wearing them the other day, she said some swear by them others not so. I didn't wear them yesterday as I was wearing a short sleeve top all day and last night my nausea was awful but probably just a coincidence? Still feeling terrible actually - sick, dizzy and really weak/achey so have taken a sick day today :(

My notes are pink...

9+3 ish and def preg brain here!

dobedobedo · 03/10/2013 09:08

I haven't tried the travel bands but am interested to hear of others experience with them!
So I arrive at work today and find out that everyone across the company (various different offices in different cities) know I'm pregnant! Angry
They ask how far along I am and I say 8 weeks and then they're surprised. "oh you're telling people this early?"

No I'm not bloody telling people! My boss evidently is. Raging. Most of my family don't even know. Angry

Spirael · 03/10/2013 09:14

I use travel bands (and I'm surprised no-one at work has called me on them yet!) and find that they're not a miracle cure but they do take the edge of the nausea. Basically if I remove them I'm sat at my desk frantically trying to stop myself from throwing up in my bin. With them on, I'm just conscious of where my bin is in case I need to throw up in it. Wink

I found ginger biscuits were ok, but mostly because they were stodgy food as the ginger content isn't enough to be effective. Things like rice cakes were just as good but less calorific. However, I got some crystallised ginger from H&B which is much more effective, though a bit overpowering. I actually got a pack which has chocolate coated crystallised ginger as well, which is more palatable.

Struggling in the evenings at the moment. I tend to crash out on the sofa as soon as I can after cooking food and putting DD to bed. I tried playing some PS3 last night, but the camera movement made my nausea really bad so I had to stop.

I'm experiencing pregnancy brain too, PFJ! Last time I completely lost my sense of direction, which was frustrating but not too crippling. It came back in the months following birth. This time, I've lost my memory! I keep losing track of what I have and haven't done. Bit of a problem at work and home.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 03/10/2013 09:32

spirael I think I'll have to try some crystallised ginger, thanks for posting ;) there's a h&b near (ish) where I can get some travel bands! Xx

loopylou52 · 03/10/2013 09:42

Morning Maybies! I've been using wrist bands too. I think they do help a bit but I'm not convinced on the acupressure side or whether it's just psychological, which may explain why they seem to work for some and not others. I've been hoping for the weather to get lots colder so I can wear long sleeves and keep the bands on all day.

Raspberry + 4 today!

moominleigh94 · 03/10/2013 09:44

I'm back to falling asleep and being out like a light until I wake up naturally... woke up fifteen minutes ago to find out that even OH getting up, waffling around and getting ready for uni didn't wake me.

I hate mornings these days, just try and sleep through them if I can (most days I can't thanks to uni Sad ). Hate not being able to eat anything before 12pm Angry

Hugs to everyone else struggling with symptoms... ah what the heck, hugs to everyone regardless of symptoms Grin

FacebookStoleMyLife · 03/10/2013 10:04

Wrist bands ordered (£1.65 delivered on Amazon in case anyone's looking), I really hope they work because I feel shocking.

To you non-symptomers, if you get any funny looks when you tell people that I promise you it's just jealousy :) But it can be so stressful waiting for those first scans without the reassurance of symptoms, I think with or without symptoms we're all just wishing time would speed up. Hand holding all round!

Spirael · 03/10/2013 10:14

Boots sell travel bands, for anyone who doesn't want to order online. They're a lot more expensive though, about £8 IIRC. I had to pick some up the other day as I forgot my usual set and needed some to get me through work. I now have one grey set and one black set, which works quite well for attempting to colour co-ordinate.

No-one seems to have noticed (or at least no-one has commented) about me wearing my travel bands all day. I have short sleeves at the moment, so I think they look quite obvious. Maybe they just all think it's some new fashion, or that they're exercise bands or something.

I was sure my friends would pick up on it, and they're less likely to keep quiet, but they seem oblivious as well!

moominleigh94 · 03/10/2013 10:14

hand holding

The bands have worked well for me Facebook, I've been using them in lectures and they've stopped me from being sick :)
