Congratulations GT and Umlauf. You lucky ladies. Flowers

I hope the scan goes well pseudo.

Char1 and heffalump........ God luck and fx that everything goes smoothly for you both

Happy birthday blondies. Wine

I am 38+2 and am so jealous about all of these gorgeous babies arriving. I do can't wait for my own little bundle of fun to appear

Flyer747 · 27/09/2013 10:12

I want my waters to break, I'm feeling very left out here Grin

The Back seat posse are getting fed up with the nerds at the front of the bus, Grin I think some more queue jumping is needed.

Slippysnow · 27/09/2013 10:16

Congratulations!!!

Am I getting confused or was there still an October lady in very slow labour. was it nellys? I find it really hard to keep up as it's moving so fast. Whoever it was, I hope it's working out for you.

char1 I hope you give birth on your due date, for somereason I find that prospect very exciting!

claphammama · 27/09/2013 10:21

lets bully the nerds flyer... and don't you dare leave me at back of the bus on my own...

Flyer747 · 27/09/2013 10:24

Haha Clapham....it's a dog eat dog world and if needs must I'm leaving you for dust on the bus Grin

JellyCurls · 27/09/2013 10:26

Flyer get back in your seat I am well and truly due before you. Good luck Char1eston

Operation baby eviction has stepped up a gear today. Cleaned bathroom while squatting as much as possible followed by a breakfast of 1 full fresh pineapple with raspberry leaf tea eaten while in a squat position at gym ball. If I ever manage to stand back up again I will think if a next eviction method. For now its homes under the hammer, with words of wisdom like "if you build a 2 storey extension you can increase living space both upstairs and downstairs"

claphammama · 27/09/2013 10:34

back to your seat flyer! Seat belt on. Or we may even throw you under the bus Grin

"if you build a 2 storey extension you can increase living space both upstairs and downstairs"?? no way...

almost as good as the warning message I found on a pack of nuts recently "MAY CONTAIN NUTS"

I'm now drinking a glass of orange juice... may contain orange...

and keep squatting jelly! let us know if it works

FeministInTraining · 27/09/2013 10:37

Laughed out loud at homes under the hammer wisdom, that really tickled me Jellycurls!

Exciting Char!!

I am getting Envy now too- been bouncing on my ball this morning and am certain baby has moved down- but loads of you had this weeks ago so think I'm still way behind. 14th Oct is ages away, DP left for work this morning declaring that the baby is coming next week- because I'm now becoming active on my ball Hmm and telling me I should have 4 cups of raspberry leaf tea today (had none yesterday). My fault for telling him about how much Flyer is having!

Flyer747 · 27/09/2013 10:38

Advice needed from more experienced ladies who've given birth previously.....this maybe a bit long winded.

Can I demand to be given anti biotics during labour? Surely it's you right to decide, or maybe it isn't.

I'm simply not happy with being told I don't need them, especially as my group b strep got picked up (albeit about 6 yrs ago) on a smear test, which means I'm colonised with it. I understand it can fluctuate...However it worries me that my baby could be exposed to it in the birth canal, and it can lead to pneumonia or meningitis, it's kind of made me realise the seriousness after Poor Isaac has been diagnosed with pneumonia.

I told my mw, they informed me I wouldn't be given anti biotics and even she was shocked...she said even if I did my own test now chances are she wouldn't get the results back in time. And as the NHS won't perform a test I feel I'm in a no win no win situation.

JellyCurls · 27/09/2013 10:38

Raspberry leaf tea gives me the boak prob cause I hate raspberries what else can I try?

MrsHoratioNelson · 27/09/2013 10:56

Jelly you can get capsules from Holland and Barrett - that's what I'm taking.

And as for you Clapham and Flyer you think you're fed up?! I would put money on my 3 Oct baby not actually arriving until 8 Oct. Grump grump grump.

Mnippy · 27/09/2013 11:09

Char's waters have broken?! It's all go today.

Apart from for me. SC.

Racheld33 · 27/09/2013 11:11

flyer I did the at home test (cost £35) that legally recommended. Ordered the test kit online (delivered in 2 days) sent straight back that day once I'd tested, and they sent me results via text 4 days later, and then a letter confirming results 2 days after that, so wondering whether you might have time if baby not early?

Flyer747 · 27/09/2013 11:13

Thanks Rach I will get on the case today. I think it's terrible they don't test on the NHS yet every other country in Europe does. Rant over Grin

doobeedee · 27/09/2013 11:13

Congrats to everyone who have given birth. I'm jealous! Just had 40 week appointment at 39+4 to check on growth since growth scan a week ago. Was only measuring 34 at 39 weeks. Good news is that it's caught up a bit and is now measuring 37. Due Monday but I think it's going to be late.

Tarlia · 27/09/2013 11:15

blowing raspberries at those on the back of the bus

How exciting char!

Keep bouncing, fem. Do you like the tea?

I forgot, was it you that asked, Nat? Still no name, think we are sticking to our original first name but undecided on middle name and my mum has been here all week so not able to discuss freely. We had problems with the MIL and names last time, so not giving anyone chance to wrinkle their nose. She wanted baby to be called Wilfred and nothing else would do - she "hates" the name we chose for DS1.

Flyer747 · 27/09/2013 11:22

Feminist & Jelly I'm enjoying the raspberry leaf, it's a nice alternative to my usual Yorkshire or Peppermint tea.

Jelly why not try evening primrose oil? Even if it doesn't work at least you'll have glowing skin and glossy locks Grin

I've got a birthing ball not bounced on it more than 2/3 times

HeffalumpTheFlump · 27/09/2013 11:27

I'm still on the bus!

Had the scan and am waiting for them to review it, but the scan lady said it looks like waters are normal. There was such a lot of fluid last night they would surely be able to tell if it was missing. Not quite sure what happened, the only option I can see is it must have been pee, but it felt completely different! I will be asking for more information/ a proper explanation when they review the scan.

I did the heffa classic and went to pass out whilst waiting for the scan so have been put in a bed in triage while we wait. Feeling a lot better now though.

Good luck today pseudo and so exciting charl!

doobeedee - if it helps I'm jealous of you because I desperately want to get to 39+3 for my scheduled csection date.

ImpOfDarkness · 27/09/2013 11:29

Congrats GT and umlauf!

I got DP up early after a night shift for ante-natal class, only to get there and find it cancelled, so I'm a bit in the doghouse Blush. So we went shopping instead and spent a small fortune on baby stuff... I've got some perineal massage oil to try. Hope it works.

Sparkeleigh · 27/09/2013 11:48

Happy birthday blondies! Cake

Congratulations umlauf and gtbaby! Cake Flowers

Good luck today pseudo, hope all goes well.

char, wow, how exciting!

heffalump hope you get the answers you need! There was something on AIBU about forewaters and hind waters? I'd never heard of this before but might be worth asking if it could be that?

SC here but 37 weeks today and this my last day in work! Grin Grin So happy about this, I'm planning to take a lot of naps next week! Confused though, I think due date is worked out at 40 weeks in NI? My date has been given as the 18th... I'd quite like the baby to stay in till then to avoid the building works!

textbook · 27/09/2013 11:50

Wow, just about managed to catch up!! Massive congratulations to GT and Umlauf - hope you're both getting lots of rest and cuddles ThanksThanksThanks

Hayle I was sorry to read that Isaac has been poorly, really hope he's on the mend and home with you soon x

Anyone in labour today? If so good luck Grin

I'm starting to feel more human today, milk is coming in and Thea sleeping longer between feeds. Wound bloody painful and paracetamol clearly inadequate for post-surgical pain but I'm more mobile today. Eating shortbread and mainlining Brew to keep going!

Love to all Thanks

FeministInTraining · 27/09/2013 11:52

Tarlia and Flyer I quite like the tea but it's not Ovaltine (my new thing with digestives dipped in). It doesn't seem to stay at the right temp for long either- goes from scalding to lukewarm before I've had time to drink it Hmm

Will keep bouncing, but now I'm feeling more pressure I'm a bit scared as DP is going to see Sean Lock on the other side of London tonight so not the best time! Wishful thinking though, don't think I've got anything to worry about!

Mum just brought round her Royal Albert tea set- having afternoon tea with her and MIL today, am quite excited about making little triangle sandwiches with the crusts cut off! Terrified of breaking something though, it's all very dainty and delicate. I am a lady wot lunches now Grin

MrsHoratioNelson · 27/09/2013 11:56

Gah! Bad morning. Went to town for coffee and and apricot croissant and they didn't have any, so I had to have lemon drizzle instead. Then got flustered backing out of a space with this old lady standing in the way and "guiding" me, only to back into the Post Office van delivering cash. He said he'd be back in a moment and I steeled myself to do the whole exchange of details but when he came back he just drove off.

Maybe it was the sight of the massive bump that made him decide that the minor damage to his paintwork and mine wasn't worth worrying about Blush.

Anyway, then I had to deal with not one but two wankers on the road on the way home - one just sitting on a junction waiting for his wife and another who decided he was too important to wait in the traffic and so he could push in from the wrong lane. When I wouldn't let him, he screeched up behind me and started yelling slag at me. Fortunately a man in a minibus shouted back on my behalf that he was a prick who should wait like everyone else Blush Blush

I need a gin, but I think I'm going to have to make so with decaf tea Sad

Good news on milk coming in textbook

Welcome to the mat leave club Spark

Really must get dressed now, mum gone shopping for supplies...

FeministInTraining · 27/09/2013 12:01

Shock MrsHN I can't believe he said that to you, what a d*ck!! I live in south London (like to think I'm hard) and have no idea how I would react. Mixture of anger and tears I think. Flowers put your feet up and dunk some biscuits in your tea. Hope you're not too shaken up by your morning xx
