MrsHoratioNelson · 27/09/2013 12:08

Thanks Fem. I was hopping mad but also a bit scared because I was near home and worried he'd follow me

textbook did they not offer you anything stronger either? Since getting home I'm taking 2 over counter paracetamol and 400mg of ibuprofen four times per day. My GP did offer a synthetic morphine but I decided to wait and a week post op the pain isn't awful, which is surprising. Did you have a CS with M too?

Thinking of terrified. I really hope you are ok, where ever you are.

Heffa sorry it seems to have been a false alarm. :( Are you ok from the fainting? Low blood sugar?

Goodness, MrsH, what a morning!

Flyer747 · 27/09/2013 12:15

Ooh MrsH what a chopper road rage man was....you did well to let it go over your head. I'd have probably slammed the anchors on and
waddled out got out and told him where to go, because i can be a confrontational hormonal cow at the moment

Just sat soaking off some acrylic nails in acetone, I hope the fumes don't make baby flyer high.

roofio87 · 27/09/2013 12:33

Right, baby's room all sorted and everything put away. once we'd finished I just stood in the middle of the room telling baby he could arrive now and squatting. haha, didn't work as a method of induction I'm afraid!!

MrsO27 · 27/09/2013 12:47

Congrats gt and umlauf and happy birthday threeblondies.
Was also thinking about mon, hope all is ok.
Good luck to those who are in labour too!
It seems to be a day to stay off the roads. Just dropped DH off at train station for his stag weekend and encountered an endless stream of knobheads. Back home and not going out again unless absolutely necessary. Must try and do something productive though....

MrsHoratioNelson · 27/09/2013 12:47

It was quite tempting to heave myself rise imperiously out of the car to give him my best Hmm face accompanied by a good view of the bump but he really was quite irate. It's a real problem at this particular point - people have suddenly decide they don't have to join the right lane and can just barge in having sailed past the queue Angry. A similar thing happened when I was in the car with DH the other weekend - some twat in a 4x4 tried it on and his wife leaned out of the car and started effing and blinding with their young children in the back Shock

Just out of interest, has anyone been keeping a journal for baby?

I've been writing to him since the day we found out (periodically, not daily!) and I've also been taking photos charting bump growth.

Once he's born I'll add everything to a scrapbook/memory book thing for him but just wondering what others have done (if anything)!

HeffalumpTheFlump · 27/09/2013 12:50

MrsH that's why I'm not driving anymore. There are too many idiots on the road, I'm terrified someone will crash into me.

Tarlia - not sure about the fainting to be honest. It's been going on for a while. I personally think its a mix of blood pressure, lack of sleep and I think anxiety this morning. I was ok once I had a lay down, thanks for asking :)

Their only explanation for what I thought was waters was that baby was possibly stopping me from being able to pee properly and then moved off so allowing a gush or pressed hard on my bladder causing it all to gush out very quickly. As there's been no more leaking they are quite confident it was a false alarm. I've just been told to look out for any more leaking and get straight in touch if anything happens.

So for now SC at 37+5!

MrsHoratioNelson · 27/09/2013 12:56

Heff I must admit to feeling more nervous - I followed a scaffolding lorry the other week and I had this sudden panic that one of the poles was going to slide off and come through the windscreen. It's not helped by the fact that I am driving the older of our cars because the newer, safer one is impossible for me to get in and out of easily, so I don't feel quite as safe. It also occurred to me this morning that if I started having contractions while I was out, I might get stuck.

Bus or Shane's pony for me next week I think. I don't want to get trapped in the house though Sad

OP posts:
MrsHoratioNelson · 27/09/2013 12:56

Who's Shane? Shank's pony...

OP posts:
Flyer747 · 27/09/2013 12:58

Shane's pony GrinGrinGrin best quote of the day

SeriousStuff · 27/09/2013 12:59

MrsH that was good of the Post Office guy, but the other guy...I think I would've turned off my engine and clumsily clambered out of my car to confront him the way I'm feeling at this stage in my pg!

Or maybe he meant it as a term of endearment a la Godfrey Bloom from UKIP...

apperleydapperley · 27/09/2013 13:02

Hello - long-time lurker here (feel like i know you all well! i'm not a stalker honest and you've all been my daily soap opera since Feb!) but never got round to posting. Due 7th Oct with DC3 and thinking its going to be late... Lovely to here about all the new babies though Thanks .
I've been prompted to post to Heffa and say that the same thing happened to me with DD1 at 37+2 - had a big gush of water then nothing else - when i went to be checked they said prob just wee, but i know it wasn't, even though there was no more leaking. Anyway, next day had a bloody show and DD arrived 2 days after that. I still think it was hind/fore waters or whatever that is - so look out... and good luck if it is!

MrsHoratioNelson · 27/09/2013 13:04

I think Shane's pony is a particularly stroppy, fat, slow, waddling pony a la Thelwell Grin

MrsO27 · 27/09/2013 13:05

mrsh Drivers, especially men I've noticed, behave differently in their cars, like they don't have to obey normal social etiquette. If I've made a mistake when I'm driving I'll usually give the other driver a wave to say sorry but the amount of times you just get the fingers back is unbelievable. Can u imagine someone telling you to f off or call u a slag if you just accidentally got in their way in a supermarket. Just wouldn't happen. I do however always find it really fun to smile widely at people when they're in a road rage fit and either wave back enthusiastically or nod and put my thumb up. Some may call this passive aggression, but it's enjoyable none the less Grin

textbook · 27/09/2013 13:06

It's crap Tarlia isn't it? I had co-codamol and diclofenac (strong anti inflammatory) in the hospital, but wasn't even given paracetamol to take home, had to stop at Tesco and buy some Shock I was furious when I found out, as when I had CS with dd1 I was sent home with a 2 week supply of codeine and diclofenac and lactulose, which I certainly needed.

I had a row with the hospital pharmacist, but apparently codeine is no longer ok with breast feeding so can't be prescribed. It was ok in the hospital apparently as they were "constantly monitoring baby" - hmm, I don't recall anyone checking her except for at birth and discharge! I'm glad to hear you're starting to feel better now - how many days post-op are you, and how is the healing going? Mine seems a little better today, and the exceedingly sticky dressing is being removed tomorrow, yay!

Flyer747 · 27/09/2013 13:10

MrsO what you don't tell people in supermarkets to F off if they get in your way?! I thought this was normal behaviour Grin

I think it's called male testosterone. They get all showy offy and behave like a manchild.

SeriousStuff · 27/09/2013 13:21

Oh my gosh, Jeremy Vine is playing 'Slipping through my fingers' again. Help!

char1eston · 27/09/2013 13:25

Thanks ladies. Off to the hospital at 3 to get checked out. I'm (naively) hoping they'll say that I'm already 5cm!
Have had some very mild contractions but nothing to speak of.

Forgot to say earlier that I hope Isaac pulls through very soon and you are able to take him home hayle

ImpOfDarkness · 27/09/2013 13:37

Hi apperley - any other lurkers out there?! come and say hello!

Pinkforboys · 27/09/2013 13:56

Oh God. Pg has taken away my ability to multi-task can't be my obsessive reading of this thread
Trying to bake cakes for school cake sale this pm (and I'm known for delivering pretty cakes...) and have had disaster: Made mix. Put mix in cases. Realised I'd use plain flour again. Tip it all back in bowl and add baking powder. Start again with new cases. Realise I had used S-r flour and now all cakes taste of baking powder not apple. And look pretty revolting with it.
Must finish work not bake more cakes. Can I be arsed to do either? No.

My reputation is shot.

And now back to your RL problems.... pseudo how has scan gone???

Good luck char1eston

MrsHoratioNelson · 27/09/2013 14:00

Oh dear Pink! I keep dropping things which is making me irrationally annoyed, not least because it hurts my bump to pick them up! It took me about 6 attempts to hang some socks on the line earlier!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 27/09/2013 14:08

Been offline for a day and there is a whole new thread!
Seems I missed some babies too, congratulations to the new arrivals!!
Full term here- woo hoo! My obstetrician is back from his holiday tomorrow so as of then this baby is allowed to come out!!

Iheartcrunchiebars · 27/09/2013 14:09

Xuntitledx I've been keeping a journal too but not many entries between 20-37 weeks so need to update. It's fun to read back though. I was writing the exact moment I knew I got pregnant. I actually felt it happen. (The dates match since) I think it's more of a journal for when he/she is much older.

Pinkforboys · 27/09/2013 14:16

MrsH I do the same with the socks and boy does that annoy me. In fact anything that involves me bending over annoys me. I'm sooooo looking forward to next week when me-time officially begins. Sofa and knitting beckon......

I've just found out that DS's school will be closed for 2 days the week I'm due (INSET and strike) which is slightly concerning on several fronts. Not sure I'll be up to doing active entertaining that week, and fearful of going into labour early and not having the convenience of him being at school.
I'm so selfish!!!!!!!
