Many congratulations to Tarlia and Falcon - wishing you and your newly extended families every happiness xx

JellyCurls - nodding my head in agreement re: the twice-daily school run comments. I know people are just being friendly but, if I go overdue, there is potentially another 4 weeks to go! I'm starting to feel guilty for still being pregnant.

takingachance · 20/09/2013 09:38

Aww, congratulations Tarlia and Falcon Smile

SC here at 36+5 - good news is that will hopefully mean I won't have to be flown away if I go into labour anytime now!

Wickedgirl · 20/09/2013 09:53

Congratulations falcon and tarlia. 2 more babies to add in to our increasing numbers. I hope that both mummies are doing well.

My second baby was also 9lb 13oz (9 days early) but bizarrely, that labour and birth were actually easier than labours 1 and 3.

Why do people need to comment on how big we are? 2 days ago I had someone tell me I'm tiny and today I had the old "are you sure it isn't twins?" Which is it........tiny or huge? I'm measuring slightly bigger than dates but only by 1cm so hardly massive.

Wickedgirl · 20/09/2013 09:55

Can anyone edit this to include the new babies?

Bronzemoth · 20/09/2013 09:57

Congratulations Tarlia and the Falcons. I welled up on the tube reading your news.

I had no idea sweeps were so painful, good to be warned. I was nearly two weeks late and started arriving only hours before mum was going to be induced so expecting a late baby.

Pinkforboys · 20/09/2013 10:12

36w today. Yay!
But my oh my I feel cr@p. Last night I had the brace-yourself-against-the-wall throwing up before bed. Woke up feeling better but a small juice and toast later and I feel on the verge again.
pseudo is this what you've been going through for the last few weeks?!? This is worse than the first trimester. I feel hungry, heavy and sick all at the same time. Shd I just take to the bottle gaviscon?

I get to see the mw this pm, I'll add this to my long list of Q's i feel sorry for myselfs

I third the playground comments. Tho in some cases it's lovely to be able to chat to others who can really sympathise with what's going on, unlike DH who pays very little attention to my ever increasing heffalump status.

claphammama · 20/09/2013 10:13

congrats tarlia and falcon!! Grin Grin Grin can't wait to hear your full stories once you are up to telling us.

So glad it's now all over for both of you and tarlia hope your little boy can be with you very very soon... he looks absolutely gorgoeus. xx

and falcon, we are all waiting for your photos! Smile

I've updated our spreadsheet with both babies. Just need the name and weight of tarlia's little boy Smile

I've also added kelly's Aya - does anyone remember the weight and what gestation she was? the only missing pieces. We have 5 girls and 2 boys so far!

claphammama · 20/09/2013 10:18

ps. funkky I absolutely hated internal exams... found them incredibly painful. I doubt they were more painful than labour (!) but I have a terrible memory of them. I coped better with labour pain, probably because labour pain is expected and we prepare for it mentally in a different way. So don't take it as an indication of how you will cope with labour and don't change your birth plan because of her comment. Just see how it goes.

pink sorry you are feeling so rough... Flowers hope you feel better soon. Can you put your feet up and rest today?

by the way, talking about heffalump status etc... where is our heffa? she's been quiet the last few days...

JellyCurls · 20/09/2013 10:24

On topic of sweeps my midwife says they shouldn't hurt and should only be done if cervix is favourable. I had one with DC2 and barely felt it internals at hospital to check dilation were more painful. Not sure if consultant being female made a difference or not. Midwife says "forced" sweeps where cervix is not starting to dilate will hurt though

PseudoBadger · 20/09/2013 10:34

Well off I go for monitoring as I'm not happy with movements. So sick of the hospital!!

thethreeblondies · 20/09/2013 10:36

Whoop whoop more babies Grin Congratulations Falcon and Tarlia

SC 36 weeks exactly Smile saw MW yesterday (and her mentor) took both of them to figure out what lumps of wriggly baby were what, but agreed it was head down and quite low, bump went mad turning and twisting afterwards so goodness knows what position it's in now! Smile Still getting stabby fanjo pains and bh, I'm a bit scared to bounce on ball or take the raspberry leaf tea I bought!

GTbaby · 20/09/2013 10:36

Shall I create a post natal thread. On condition that we post out birth stories but do not move conv over there? That way ladies don't feel bad for worrying others but can tell their story when they feel ready.

Think I may borrow my brothers car. He has a van for work n car I gave him a few years ago. So I don't think he can moan about me borrowing it for a week lol

PseudoBadger · 20/09/2013 10:38

I was given a sweep without asking my consent with DS.... It hurt!! But my waters broke 12 hours later....
Pink - I haven't been actually sick with my heartburn, but only due to very fast sitting up in bed and swallowing (tmi!).

monkeytree · 20/09/2013 10:38

Congratulations Tarlia and Falcon it's great to hear some good news.

Yes can relate to the 'you're big comments'. I get them a lot at work and I don't like all the attention. On the other hand I do like being asked how I am by the genuine people that I get on with. Strangely not wishing to meet up for coffee etc with friends that I was doing previously -seem to prefer my own company lately so can't really complain about lack of support- it is a strange one!

I try not to hang around too long at the school gates. Have been driving up to school (just a 15 minute walk previously). I now drive as close to the school gates as possible and get out of the car at the last minute. I'm sure people mean well but it does get irritating. I tell some people that I've had the baby and that the bump is all cake and that tends to deflect them a bit and raise a smile!

35 weeks today! Not at work and putting my feet up. DH will do the school run later thankfully so that's a relief. My mum lives 30-40 minutes away but it might as well be the other side of the country. "I would do more ie help with school runs etc if I lived closer," she says I don't know what I'm expecting really but hope that when DD's are grown up I will be there for them if they need me.

I think the housework has been getting me down a bit because I normally spend more time out of the house than in it and pregnancy as naturally slowed me up and led me to spend more time indoors. Do feel better today and determined not to overdo it.

Have a good weekend all.

favellio · 20/09/2013 10:45

Hope all goes well pseudo x

HeffalumpTheFlump · 20/09/2013 11:05

Congratulations to falcon and tarlia! Sorry you both had a bit of a tough time but glad your babies are here safely.

I'm still here clapham! I've just been lurking due to feeling rather ill for the last few days. I'm getting up in the morning and by lunch time I'm so exhausted and run down I'm back in bed. Midwife has just told me to keep taking it easy. Also apparently my baby is well comfy and has no plans of vacating any time soon! But she is apparently massive, so I will be competing with falcon!

BowlFullofJelly · 20/09/2013 11:24

I think thats a good idea GT - mainly because i am nosey and want to hear the birth stories though!

funkky · 20/09/2013 11:36

Two babies! Congrats falcon and tarlia can't wait to hear your stories.

GT i think a separate thread is a good idea for nosey people like me....

Hope it all goes well Pseudo

Glad to know people find internal examinations hard, am not averse to pain relief and have asked for gas and air , just didn't want to unless I need it/ ask for it, so will see how it goes.

Thanks for the tip on primerose oil flyer, will definitely be getting some of that.

SeriousStuff · 20/09/2013 11:38

Amazing news both Falcon and Tarlia!!! Enjoy your babies!

SeriousStuff · 20/09/2013 11:40

37 weeks today! And only just sent my maternity allowance form off...oops! Hoping it will be processed before baby makes an appearance.

So now, I feel happy that she can make an appearance when she's ready. Not beyond 40 weeks hopefully!

PseudoBadger · 20/09/2013 11:42

They seem happy with the ctg trace and movements have happened since I've been here so i'm happy :)
Off home to poor snotty coughing toddler :( at least he's nice and cuddly when he's ill!

roofio87 · 20/09/2013 11:45

seriousstuff don't feel bad, im 38 weeks and still haven't sent my mat allowance form off!! waiting for work to send me my mat1b form back and a copy of my pay slips! thank god for savings! !

claphammama · 20/09/2013 12:09

I want to hear the birth stories too! And we've already had some scary stories posted on this thread earlier on anyway. So is there anyone here who doesn't want to know? if not, I think it's better to stick to one single thread, otherwise the conversation will split naturally by default...

Smitten1981 · 20/09/2013 12:12

Congrats on the new arrivals Falcon and Tarlia, good work!

I's my last day in the office today - whooohooooooooooo!!!!! I got £150 in John Lewis vouchers, so not too shabby! Trying to stop myself spending it on a super-nice leather changing bag. The baby has enough stuff! Not sure I can part with that cash for something to shove shitty nappies in however.

We went for a tour of the birthing centre last night and it's so lovely. It's really put my mind at rest about feeling trapped in hospital. The rooms even have a sliding door to a little garden to walk around in as well as a huge birthing pool and a double bed that pulls down from a wardrobe in the wall - crazy!

It's really hit home that this is it now, the final countdown. I feel so nervous about it all.

claphammama · 20/09/2013 12:15

and sorry you are feeling so unwell heffa... let's hope the midwife is wrong and 1. she is not massive and 2. she will surprise you by arriving soon! Smile can you remind me - is it your first one?

monkey I fully sympathise... it's so hard when you have no one to help, especially in these last weeks. Funnily enough, I've made the same resolution internally - want to be closer and more supportive to my children when they grow up.
