Good luck Falcon and positive thoughts to you roofio.

My mums waters broke (end of sept) but no labour. In the middle of October (same due date as me) she was told she would have to be airlifted to another hospital at 3pm. She went into labour straight away and I was born at 230! I had the cord around my neck but the hospital didnt have an incubator so I was put next to a radiator with a sock on my head!

Just so I can get it off my chest here are the pregnancy things annoy me at the moment

  1. rolling over in bed
  2. trying to pick things up off the floor
  3. random mouses coming out of my mouth without any warning (hiccups, burps, odd sounds)
  4. waddling every where
  5. my enormous double chin
  6. feeling like I can't breathe.

I know I have nothing to complain about as I've had such an easy pregnancy but I need somewhere to vent!

Iheartcrunchiebars · 19/09/2013 16:23

Ha ha ha noises not mouses!

PseudoBadger · 19/09/2013 16:27

LOL at mouses!!

Waiting for the consultant appointment - it's packed so I bet I'll be very late in.

Flyer - any improvement with heartburn meds?

Thanks for the tip pseudo. Maybe knowing what to expect made it better this time too. Got my last antenatal appointment tomorrow morning. So I'll find out then when I'm having the dreaded Injections.

I was born after my mum had her sterilisation op reversed. I was early same as were we all though not sure how early. I was 5lb 7oz.
I was followed by twin sisters 14 months later and it was while my mums elderly aunts were visiting the new arrivals that I decided to utter my first real words. I'd been sitting on a stool "reading" a book when I fell of it and said very loudly "Oh Fuck".
It was at this age too that I hit my dad over the head with a hammer as he slept on the sofa and called him a "luckin lugger" (fucking bugger).
I rarely swear now either.

Flyer747 · 19/09/2013 16:31

Iheart that's so funny about the sock on your head next to a radiator it made me chuckle Grin

Flyer747 · 19/09/2013 16:34

I'm now also laughing at the random mouses coming out of your mouth Grin

MON Grin you sound like a handful as a baby....

Iheartcrunchiebars · 19/09/2013 16:40

Mon you sound a very scary child!

MotherOfNations · 19/09/2013 16:49

The language was completely my Dad's fault. I always remember him saying "Stop that fucking swearing" then turning to my mum and saying "They don't get that fucking language from me".
My mum and dad split up when I was 9 and by the time I started high school people were apologising for swearing in front of me.

My mum said at the time of the hammer incident she couldn't even tell me off for laughing. My dad always said that he thought people only "saw stars" in cartoons until that day. I still say the old bugger probably deserved it.

Flyer747 · 19/09/2013 16:50

Is anyone else concerned that none of their pre pregnancy clothes are going to fit afterwards? Especially winter coats, all my nice coats are a size 8 and no chance they'd go anywhere near me now or for the next few months I suspect. I have a north face puffa coat that fits (unzipped) and don't fancy constantly having to wear that all winter. Probably stupid dilemma but I can't afford a whole new wardrobe when off work....

Umlauf · 19/09/2013 16:55

LOL at random mouses!! That has just cheered me up no end! Just watched DH teberse my car into a wall. He had windows down so didnt hear/see me shouting STOP!! Stupid arse!

Same worries about the clothes flyer Sad for me its jeans! Just been to doctors and had surprise scan, baby not engaged but in good position. They induce at 41+5 here so Im pretty sure thats when Ill be having my baby Sad BP high but on limit. It was a different doctor this time anf SO NICE not to be told how fat I am!

MotherOfNations · 19/09/2013 16:56

I've always gone down to even smaller than pre pregnancy size within a few weeks. I'm so hoping it happens again.
I found a lovely lacey Basque that I bought shortly before conceiving at the back of a drawer last night and neither me or Dp could believe that 8 short months ago I could fit into it. It looked tiny. I've given some of my size 10 things to the dd's to wear.

Umlauf · 19/09/2013 16:56

reversed my car*

Flyer747 · 19/09/2013 17:00

Yeah I'm skeptical mon about me being back into a size 8 in a few weeks, especially given that I'm currently eating lyles golden syrup off a spoon because I fancied something sweet and have nothing in the house! Grin

Off to meet dp in town shortly for some John Lewis shopping and food lots of lovely fattening food Grin

Slippysnow · 19/09/2013 17:10

Mon- I hope your mum and dad kept a close eye on you after that.

I was born 7.7lb, overdue by a little bit (can't remember how long) but my mum said she got so fed up of being pregnant she went down the water slide (flumes) at the swimming pool 4 times, I came the next day. Don't know whether the midwives would reccomend that!

My first word was more, I was a chubby baby.

And mum and dad had 3rd child syndrome and miraculously lost the camera for my years and 'can't remember' where I took my first steps etc. mum said I spent most my life being pushed in the pram to and from my older brothers schools and events. (I'm not damaged I swear)

MrsHoratioNelson · 19/09/2013 17:25

Yeah that'll do it Flyer Grin

claphammama · 19/09/2013 17:27

MoN Grin Grin Grin and random mouses Grin Grin

I was born exactly on my due date (often told the only time in my life I was on time) It was super hot - 35C and my mum can't tolerate hot weather (read: trying to tell me I was a difficult child right from the start). My mum had terrible nausea throughout my pregnancy and threw up every single day, including the day she gave birth (followed by the comment: "I also had nausea with your sister but nothing like with you. You were more difficult even then"). I was 3kg 100g (think it's about 6lb 12oz or thereabout). Don't know much about my baby times otherwise. I know my mum struggled to BF and I wasn't gaining weight so she gave up after a month.

In other news - just had a nap and now having a nice bath before picking up DS in 30min

claphammama · 19/09/2013 17:28

ah and I was a pretty baby "but not as pretty as my sister"

MrsO27 · 19/09/2013 17:37

I was born on my due date, 7lbs 5. Don't know much else about me as a baby though, other than i didn't start walking until 15 months. I will have to ask my mum for more info. My older brother was induced at 36 or 37 weeks because my mum had PE and my younger brother was born on his dd too (and came very quickly) so she didn't go over with any of us.
No chance of me fitting into pre-preg clothes anytime soon unless I'm one of those lucky ones whose weight just disappears a few days after birth.
Are random mouses a common symptom at this stage?! Grin

Pinkforboys · 19/09/2013 18:03

Lol at the mouses and socks and birth stories.
Reversing car into wall not so good! Isn't that what we're supposed to do when befuddled with pg hormones? What's your OH's excuse?!

My Mum also has 3rd child memory failure when it comes to me. I know I was induced after being a week late, but that's about it. There seems to be little record of me ever learning to crawl/teethe/walk. In her defense my Mum did have 3 kids under 3 to cope with...My dad is adamant my first words were 'Go way' and 'Paul dunnit' (that's my bro) Possibly still my favourite words Grin

Pinkforboys · 19/09/2013 18:08

Oh and can I join the moaning corner for a moment?
SC at 35+7 and I can't bear this feeling both hungry and sick at the same time. Madam's leaving me no room to digest food. I can't even face gaviscon as I feel like I permanently have bile in my throat.
I can't get comfortable on the sofa without a foot jabbing my ribs.

And I join you in those mouses, especially when trying to put my socks/shoes on. Oh for hot weather and flip flops again...

notsoold · 19/09/2013 18:28

Mouses:) :) :)

Pinkforboys · 19/09/2013 18:33

Sorry for the indulgent post.
pseudo I'm glad to hear second jab was better than the first. Good luck with consultant- hope there's some good advice about your CT too

falcon & tarlia wishing you some good full moon development in your labours xx

claphammama · 19/09/2013 18:33

pink just to make you feel a bit better - isn't 35+7 already 36? Grin so you are closer to the end than you realised? Grin

Iheartcrunchiebars · 19/09/2013 18:33

We can all sympathise together now with the random mouses (head in hands)

SeriousStuff · 19/09/2013 18:43

From what I remember my mum telling me, I was about a week late and breech. Was delivered via caesarian. So many girls had been born around the same time, they didn't have any pink blankets left, so was given a blue one. Everyone then thought I was a boy.

My mum had to stay in hospital for 10 days. She hated it. She found it hard to get me to breastfeed and got barely any support from the midwives - just unhelpful, snide remarks.

I'm really fed-up today. SPD getting worse and I'm exhausted. Just eaten all the Soreen snack loaves I had in my hospital bag...
