Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Wickedgirl · 19/09/2013 10:35

Good luck tarlia, not long now. Grin

I can't believe how fast these threads are going now.......I am struggling to keep up with everything!

I am now 37+1 ........woo hoo. My ds (aged 9) said to me, "that means you can give birth at the place you want to now doesn't it?" Bless him

Wickedgirl · 19/09/2013 10:35

Sorry falcon.....missed you! Good luck, I hope this is finally it for you xx

claphammama · 19/09/2013 10:38

ps. hope this is IT falcon!!!

MotherOfNations · 19/09/2013 10:44

Oh Falcon we all hope so too. Got everything crossed for you.

Not only am I impatiently awaiting the arrival of my ownbaby but tthat of my brothers girlfriend. She's a week overdue now with her first baby. My brother already has a son who's 22 now and always said he didn't want any more but felt he couldn't deny his girlfriend the chance to be a mum. She miscarried at 11 weeks last year so I'm so pleased for her.

favellio · 19/09/2013 10:46

Fingers crossed falcon - keep us posted!
And good luck Tarlia Thanks

Sanjifair · 19/09/2013 10:54

Struggled to keep up with the thread but am finishing work today at 36+4.

Congrats to kelly on the birth of Aya, tarlia hope all goes well with the induction, took 50 h for me last time! falcon hope this is it for you this time!

clapham so glad you got some resolution at work on your last day.

Hugs to those suffering with high BP and heartburn.

HotSoupDumpling · 19/09/2013 11:00

Good luck falcon! Fingers crossed for you.

I wasted money on a couple of Jojomamanbebe breastfeeding tops in the sale (they were so uncomfortable and strange looking when they arrived - but I couldn't return), and I was looking at those breast-feeding cover-up shawls. But my friend visited and just covered the crucial area with a bit of draped scarf while the baby latched, then took the scarf away - and you couldn't see anything! She had on a normal top with a vest underneath. So I've got renewed faith in my usual jumper/vest/thermal winter wardrobe!

Natalieand · 19/09/2013 11:05

Sc at 36+3

Good luck too tarlia ruby and falcon xxx lets get some babies on this thread :-)

Hope everyone sleeps better tonight, I only woke for one 4am wee last night then was up at 6.30 so overall a good night really.

rox sorry to hear about poppy, such an emotional time saying good bye to a pet. Xx

I'm not sure if its the same everywhere but
My local asda has a massive clothes sale on with rails and rails of kids and babies clothes reduced x

Sorry to n e one I have missed x

legallyblond · 19/09/2013 11:34

pinkbuttons · 19/09/2013 12:09

roofio glad your feeling a bit better, is good that they are aware something may be going on for when baby is born and glad it doesnt change where your going to give birth.

wicked yey for 37 weeks Smile

Im another one who wil be sticking with vest tops and loose jumpers or cardigans to cover up. Have a few nice breastfeeding tops as fed for 9 months last time but didnt bother/couldnt afford a whole new wardrobe and worked out fine. Defintely agree on buying a couple of special things though and love that second jumper you posted flyer

SC here 37+5

roxvox · 19/09/2013 12:09

Thanks again for all of your comments about Poppy. We are going to have a little funeral at home for her on Saturday, and will bury her in the garden next to our previous dog (not in a grave style, just under the garden grass) with all of her favourite toys.
The dog that's left behind (Maisy) and Poppy were very close, and today Maisy seems really depressed. She won't leave my side and seems to be getting spooked by things she wouldn't normally care about (she's a very laid back dog). She has a cut on her throat which looks infected this morning and she's here next to me trying to sleep with her head up, but nodding off and jumping up with the pain when her neck bends. It could just be that that's making her seem depressed. Regardless, I am back to the vets this afternoon but with this dog instead. So much for my 'doing nothing day'!

falcon I have my fingers crossed for you that this is it!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 19/09/2013 12:10

Good luck tarlia hope it doesn't take 5 days.........!
And falcon hope this is it for you too.
I have been doing some serious nesting this morning but am a bit tearful. Left ds at nursery and looked in through the window at him as I left, he was crying his little heart out and I just felt so awful leaving him there. Nursery haven't called so he must have settled down but I still feel like a bad mummy subjecting him to all this change and upheaval in his little world.

Soupqueen · 19/09/2013 12:11

Fingers crossed falcon!

Does anyone know where I can get arnica tablets that aren't homeopathic? Also peppermint tablets, can't find them anywhere!

Warlin · 19/09/2013 12:14

Another on here who can't keep up with this thread!

38+1 and SC

Good luck tarlia I was induced last time and ds born 7 hours later so fingers crossed it's quick for you.

falcon really hope this is it for you mw.

Very jealous of those with signs...nothing here at all :( getting very impatient now. On the plus side ds started walking yesterday so very proud parent moment and want him to be confident on his feet before baby comes.

Hi to everyone else. I have another scan tmw to check position. Can't be bothered, just want to go and have him!

roofio87 · 19/09/2013 12:16

soup I got my arnica tablets from boots. not sure what you mean by not homeopathic though so dont know if they are or not haha!!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 19/09/2013 12:22

Ah warlin that's great, how old is your ds? I would quite like ds to be walking before this one arrives but somehow don't think he will. Lots of cruising and standing on his own but no first steps yet- nearly 13 months.

PseudoBadger · 19/09/2013 12:29

I got my peppermint oil capsules in a larger boots

OP posts:
claphammama · 19/09/2013 12:35

what are peppermint oil tablets for? and what are arnica tablets for? I've only ever applied arnica externally on bruises.

Wow warlin it's such a special moment when they make this first step :-)

yay last day sanji! time to put your feet up!

roofio87 · 19/09/2013 12:36

don't know about the peppermint oil but my mw recommended the arnica tablets for helping heal after labour, suppose to help bruising and swelling inside and out I think!!

Soupqueen · 19/09/2013 12:41

Arnica tablets are for internal healing. Homeopathic remedies are basically sugar pills (in my opinion) so I'd prefer something that has half a chance of working.

The peppermint is for post section trapped wind (I'm not scheduled for a section, just being prepared!)

Flyer747 · 19/09/2013 12:48

Falcon fingers crossed this is finally it.....Work seem to have over paid me for some bizarre reason. I have maternity pay along with my normal salary Grin I am now buying both those tops and am treating myself to a pedicure tomorrow.

Rox Hmm about the other dog. When one of our Labradors died the other lab was really depressed. They must become like siblings for one another. My dad said she was never the same. Sorry don't think that's what you want to hear. Lots of fusses for other dog.

MrsO27 · 19/09/2013 12:55

Hi all, back from the mw and bp was fine which was a relief as I had been worried it would be up following my blurred vision the other day. However, baby looks like its breech (breeched?) so have to go for a presentation scan next week. Fx it turns round in that time. Also got weighed... Not good. Have put on 21kg!!! I don't even know how that's possible. I always blamed the wine for any weight gain before and I haven't been drinking any of that. Average weight gain is 12kg so it's a lot over that. Sigh.

Good luck falcon that full moon is shining for you!

Lovely news warlin, such a special moment!

claphammama · 19/09/2013 13:03

thanks for your explanations! may add arnica tablets to my shopping list.

flyer weird but it also happened to me with my first maternity leave... I was paid double for the first 6 weeks! I thought they made a mistake so I emailed payroll (yes, I'm stupid) and they said it was correct. No idea how it works... buy hoping this will happen this time too? seem to good to be true doesn't it?

hope the baby turns mrsO

just called Guy & St Thomas and it turns out they've stopped doing tours of labour and postnatal wards as they are too busy... boooooo. they were nice but very impersonal... so different from my Kingston hospital experience. Inner London and much busier I guess... I want to go back to Kingston now Sad

Flyer747 · 19/09/2013 13:13

Warlin lovely news about DS.

Mon I can't believe what your ex mil said....I'd be totally gobsmacked!

So I spoke to my mum earlier on and she had been up in the loft to find my baby book. She found it and told me this about myself:

  1. I weighed 7lb13oz
  2. My eyes were grey when born (they still are)
  3. I was born at 1.57am on 9/3/79 a day after my due date.
  4. I first stood up at 9 months old
  5. I got my first tooth at 9 months old (quite late I guess)
  6. I said my first word at 8 months old, too which my dad responded "yes and she hasn't shut up since" Grin
  7. I was 51 cm long when born.
  8. I first crawled at 8 months
  9. I sat up at 6 months.

It was lovely to hear this about myself when I was born....

I love hearing stories about being a baby.....what do all you ladies know about yourselves?

JellyCurls · 19/09/2013 13:18

Fx Falcon

Just walked round Ikea and have either completely lost control of my bladder or my waters are slowly leaking. Does anybody know what colour water are? My pee is clear as checked in loo but when I wiped the paper was a yellow colour Hmm also very mucusy again. Not said to DH as want to get home at normal speed and in one piece.
