Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Shootingstarsandcomets · 18/09/2013 09:28

Morning all! Just had another scan. This baby is head down and looking good.........almost 6lbs already so going to be a whopper!!! Waiting to have my bloods done now.

Shootingstarsandcomets · 18/09/2013 09:34

Smitten I feel the same re clothes, I have about three tops and no coat at all so would love it to stop raining!
legally lovely to hear about your twins doing so well. I actually can't wait for snuggly newborn feeds and cuddles even though I know I'll be exhausted its the most special time.

Tarlia · 18/09/2013 09:43

badger sounds like things are under control. Hopefully you'll get home today. Your poor hands :(

falcon waiting for news from you... Hoping it worked!! Fx

thethreeblondies · 18/09/2013 09:45

I struggled with what to wear today as well! Ended up with leggings (pre pg under bump bit small lol!) a little black skirt I usually wear for sunbathing, black vest and cardy! Bit eclectic but mostly black so think I got away it with! Black boots and my oversized khaki mac/parka completed my look this morning! Luckily it's a village school so I didn't look too out of place!

Hair loss for me was the worst thing post pregnancy, I recovered well, breastfed with ease but used to be in tears in the shower when handfuls of my hair was coming out, DH reminded me with DD2 that it had happened with DD1 and it does thicken up again, but I tied my hair back most the time as hated the moulting! Think it looks so much worse when u have long hair (mine is in desperate need of a good trim)

Having a relaxing day today following 2 days of shopping/visiting people, got housework to catch up on, and I might even pack my hospital bag! My app tells me I've got 30 days to go!!

Bronzemoth · 18/09/2013 09:54

I've been lurking rather than posting, but its been lovely starting to read all the baby news and glad all the scares are ok/being managed, you've also given me quite a few laughs. . Legally very impressed by how you are getting settled. Also found the various chats useful, it got dh and I talking about visiting after the bun arrives last night which he hadn't considered. His parents and sisters are lovely but I can see how it could be overwhelming.

Also thanks to whoever passed on how babies are resilient to stress. It was very reassuring. I've had a pretty hard time at work working 10+ hour days. I got to the point I wasn't functioning properly because of anxiety and my blood pressure started to go up. We had a couple of short breaks in the last couple of weeks which I started to doubt the wisdom of but it really helped to decompress me a bit and it was really great to have some two of us time before we become three.. Now only 8 days of work plus maybe some additional handover days into October, but the end is insight.

MrsHN I have the same problem I have a very particular bump too. If anything touches it he makes his feelings known!

roofio87 · 18/09/2013 09:56

I'm not looking forward to hair thining, my hair took a while to recover after chemotherapy (didn't loose it all, about a third) and am a bit precious about my hair now, but not the end of the world!!
mw coming over later for checks, nothing much to report though. Still getting random non painful tightenings and period pains that don't really coincide, always in middle of night!
was awake for ages last night worrying about taking baby with me to a hospital appointment I have in mid november and how I'll manage it and feeding etc. totally ridiculous to be worrying about something so unimportant now, I think I'm going mad ha!

Soupqueen · 18/09/2013 09:56

I'm feeling the clothes pain too. The change of season at the same time as not wearing work clothes for 5 days out of 7 has totally thrown me. I think I might need to get a few pieces, maybe a jacket and some cardigans. I'm not sure how long it'll take for my stomach and boobs to fit into my old clothes and I'll definitely need something warm for October, November etc.

roofio87 · 18/09/2013 10:05

also, feeling 100% better today after yesterday culminated in me crying my eyes out to dp that I wasn't sure we should be having a baby and what if I couldn't do it!?! (please no one ever tell my son that!!Blush ) I blame hormones because I feel fine today. think nearing the end is just massively playing with my emotions!!

Smitten1981 · 18/09/2013 10:06

Thank God I don't have to worry about formal office attire at work. That would be hellish.

Currently sitting at my desk with my jeans totally undone, must remember to do them up if I stand up for anything, could be embarrassing.

Pinkforboys · 18/09/2013 10:29

smitten I hear you and empathise a thousand times over!
Have you looked in the Mamas n Papas website? Jeans for a tenner. I'm so pleased I got some now the weather's turned. You cd always justify a big oversized cardi/coat that'll cover you when bf or walking with bubba in a sling as well as accommodate present bump (can you tell I used to work in a clothes shop?!)

Madam is head down- yay!

Sorry I didn't make it to your ward pseudo I braved another part of the Whit instead in search of my long lost ex- SIL (long story) Hope to see her next wk instead if she can face me and bump (my bro left her before kids and she hasn't been able to have any since Sad). I'm tearful at the thought of it.

Smitten1981 · 18/09/2013 10:43

I think I'm just going to head to New Look when I start 'working from home' on Monday and buy some cheap dresses in a huge size and leggings to see me through the next few weeks.

I'll definitely add a huge cardi to the list - hadn't thought of getting one of those. Thanks Pink

Tarlia · 18/09/2013 10:45

Uh oh.. BP 11.30 am
169/109
173/111
162/111
That's with meds..20 mins and I'll take again I think...Confused

claphammama · 18/09/2013 10:48

thanks all! xx luckily DS had no nightmares last night and woke up this morning back to his usual happy self. No further questions and no more distress. pink you are right, I will start skimming through the books before I read them now... and will introduce him to Beauty and the Beast!

I'm in the bad night club too... DP came back drunk after his work night out and was annoying. I'm trying not to give him hard time about it as it happens so rarely and he always acts perfectly normal, just smells of alcohol, talks loudly and is generally hyper. I wanted to go to bed and wind down but he kept talking to me about his work and presentation, started unpacking a box of baby hangers that arrived yesterday and hanging baby clothes in the wardrobe - as you do after midnight... FFS. And then the combination of baby moving, toilet trips and him snoring kept me awake all night. A long nap later I think...

roxvox really sorry about your dog... they are part of the family so it's so sad when we have to let them go. At least she didn't suffer more Flowers

legally I know exactly what you mean. Had the same experience with DS - he was so easy and slept all the time in the first month, I thought "wow babies are easy!", but then he corrected me and cried pretty much all the time in the second month. I think it takes them some time to realise what's happened and that they are already born and outside!!

soup good luck with your monitoring! why do you need to have it done by the way? sorry I must have forgotten...

and good luck with your scan pink!

buttons glad the baby stayed in yesterday and didn't hijack DP's birthday Smile

spark not long to go now! how many working days left for you?

and I have the same clothes problems here... trying to resist buying more at this stage - seems pointless and a waste of money but I'm struggling to get dressed every day!

by the way, tarlia & chickie where did you used to go for a haircut when you lived here? I was going to Francesca Alexander but wasn't too impressed... so tried The Drawing Room last time and was quite impressed with Ivan, the obligatory gay hairdresser. Do you know anyone around here who is really good?

MrsHoratioNelson · 18/09/2013 10:51

I have been wearing a non MN approved waterfall cardigan a lot - it's drapey so it fits ok and I can sort of snuggle up in it when I'm feeling the chill round my neck and chest.

Lots of babygros now out on the line :)

Sun decided to put in an appearance after all.

claphammama · 18/09/2013 10:54

crossposts...

tarlia these are so high... hope they will come down a bit... only 3 days to the D Day for you right? fingers crossed it can all be managed until then xxx

pink how sad about your ex SIL... and I agree with you on the cardigan front. I actually need to go and purchase a few. I didn't bother with any BF tops last time and lived in cardigans for months. Found them much easier and much more practical.

claphammama · 18/09/2013 10:57

and yay pink!! Glad the little madam has decided to turn head down after all Grin

Tarlia · 18/09/2013 10:58

Haha why are waterfall cardis not approved?

The Drawing Room on Webbs road, clapham? Always found very good, though tended to go to one over near battersea park, which I cannot for the life of me remember the name! How much is a trim around there these days?

claphammama · 18/09/2013 11:01

yes, The Drawing Room on Webb's Road tarlia - only 10min walk for me. A simple wash and trim here these days - 58 quid...

MotherOfNations · 18/09/2013 11:01

So sorry to hear about Poppy rox. It must have come as a shock.

After being so sore yesterday and throwing up again last night I decided to self examine for any signs of dilation and am 1cm. I'm not too worried as I feel fine today apart from hip pain and have googled and apparently it's possible to be dilated for weeks without going into labour. Dp's a bit panicked now though.

Umlauf · 18/09/2013 11:51

So sorry to hear about your lovely dog rox she was very lucky to have you with her. Flowers

clapham your ds sounds too adorable for words, bless him!

Shame about the waterfall cardis, I have 2 and they fit! And are so comfy, and I don't feel bad wearing them with leggings. They are fugly though! At the moment wearing DHS track suit bottoms and a huge jumper top. Not leaving the house!!

Clothes are a minefield, we are really struggling money wise so I couldn't just top up my wardrobe. I think immediately post birth I will survive with leggings + strappy top + fugly waterfall cardigan and possibly manage on my 2 maternity dresses that still fit, the. Hopefully not too long before I can get into the size 12 jeggings I bought from m&s but never wore due to getting pregnant, which gives me access to jumpers and tops! (Hate tops with leggings). I am really hoping I go down fairly quickly, I suspect a lot of my weight is water retention so hoping it doesn't stick around...

JellyCurls · 18/09/2013 11:52

Clapham £58 for a trim - remind me not to move to London I got a cut, colour and complete restyle for £50 yesterday. Hairdresser dried hair straight and with the lively Scottish rain its now a rather fetching frizz shaped bob.

Oh and to top off the morning my knicker elastic popped in supermarket this morning while I bent to pick up DS so by time I got back to car my pants were down my below my bum cheeks, thank goodness had my jeans on and not a dress as sure they would have been at my ankles otherwise.

roofio87 · 18/09/2013 12:46

community mw has been. everything is fine, but when she listened to hb it sounded a bit irregular, almost as if its skipping a beat every 20 seconds or so. so I'm off to the hospital for monitoring. not too worried and I'll be in the right place is something is wrong, but going on my own as dp is at work miles away and pil aren't picking up phone!

Flyer747 · 18/09/2013 13:23

Hope all turns out ok Roofio.

£58 for a hair cut..my goodness I pay £65 for half a head of foils, cut and blow dry..

Same here on the clothes front, and my maternity leggings are all bobbly now from being washed and worn so often. I have no coats that fit either.

Just been to my Ante Natal fitness class, it was rubbish haha, I work up more of a sweat going downstairs to get my trifle out of the fridge! It was nice to see the Nct ladies though.

Roofio I was surprised how many free baby things there is going on in Liverpool, quite good really. And a cuppa was 20p and a banana 10p Grin bargain.

pinkbuttons · 18/09/2013 13:45

Hope everything is ok at monitoring roofio

tarlia how was 20 minute later reading??

how are you today pseudo?

Also struggling with clothes here. living in leggings which are now hugely overworn and generally have holes in the crotch and a few vest stops that dont show the underneath of my tummy. on a positive note its meant to get a bit warmer again this weekend. Hoping baby will arrive before it gets too cold because my 10 yr old raincoat that somehow still fits does nothing to keep the cold out.

pinkbuttons · 18/09/2013 13:47

sorry to hear didnt work up much of a sweat flyer but have to say im impressed by your dedication to even try and work out. I havent done anything more than walk for a gd 4 monthsBlush
