Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hot how rude of your midwife! I'm a 16 so there's no hope for me, they'll probably never find a heartbeat under all my flab.

Grey I'm 25 and my mum said I was among the first to have the MMR. Both my children have had all their vaccines, I believe that the research that has gone into them is extensive, and the risk of having the diseases is far bigger than the risk of side effects from the vaccine. The autism thing is not proven, it was a theory.

JK how horrid to have carpel tunnel. My nan had that and had an op. It must be really annoying for you.

In other news I'm so ravenous I think I will end up eating the entire contents of the food shop I did yesterday. I've had 2 weetabix, a biscuit, a roll with salami and salad, a babybel and some grapes. Still starving.

Prambo · 18/09/2013 13:00

Fifty-six posts since last night??! My fault for waking up at 1pm just now Blush

BadlyWrittenPoem · 18/09/2013 13:00

Hot I've found lots of MWs be really negative about homebirth. Last time I was really glad I was having consultant care too as my consultant was really positive about it and wrote on my notes at 34 weeks that she saw no reason for me not to have a homebirth. I don't know how tall you are but at size 14 I find it hard to imagine that you could have a high enough BMI to be particularly high risk for birth.

FoxMulder · 18/09/2013 13:04

It winds me up an unnecessary about when drivers (who come to see me to give me money from customers) walk round to my side of the desk to give me the cash. Most of them just hand it over the desk, but why do some of them come around?! I don't like it! They're getting in my personal space, standing on my deaf side, and potentially catching me on MN!

My boss also just came in my office holding 2 baguettes, neither of which were for me. What a bastard. I told him off.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 18/09/2013 13:05

maybe, I think the laziest easiest way to explain it is if I give you the wiki link (which probably does a better job that me) and then if you have any more questions, I'm happy to answer. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elimination_communication

liberuna · 18/09/2013 13:12

www.thebabyshow.co.uk/olympia/

I wanna go !!

BadlyWrittenPoem · 18/09/2013 13:16

I have a grudge against the baby show because in my first pregnancy I bought some maternity bras online from the nct and then they sold them all at the baby show and didn't tell me there was a two week delay until I contacted them asking why they hadn't arrived.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 18/09/2013 13:16

Two month delay that should say! I'm not completely unreasonable.

Prambo · 18/09/2013 13:17

I have yet to meet a man who actually likes nipple piercings. When I was a stripper we had a few girls with their nips pierced and they struggled to get custom. I don't know if that was purely the piercings or the make-up/hair that seemed to come with the package. The men found them a complete turn off. I had my nip done years ago and lasted three weeks. My fiance detested it and it was horridly painful.

Hottie, your mw! I nearly choked reading your post. As I have decided to seriously give up swearing I won't comment further..

Thinking of you today, Saggy.

Prambo · 18/09/2013 13:20

Lib, I felt physically ill looking at that link. It's not that I'm skint I just see mass commercial manipulation. Ugh. And all those yummy mummies with kids!

RaspberrysAndIcecream · 18/09/2013 13:25

I just had a chat with my boss - I can bring the baby back to work with me!!! So bloody pleased!!! Grin

Cake for everyone!!!!!!! Grin

RaspberrysAndIcecream · 18/09/2013 13:26

And DH has said we can go to the baby show!!!!! It's a good day for me!!

SoSurprised · 18/09/2013 13:33

Hot that was so rude of her. My midwife couldn't find the heartbeat either but she was very nice about it. Tried to be really reassuring. The hospital consultant find it for me.
How far along are you ? I was 15 weeks and 3 days and the midwife said that they dnt usually check before 16 weeks as baby can be quite evasive.

HotCrossPun · 18/09/2013 13:46

I'm 15+1 So. She did find it, it just took her a few minutes. The whole time I was panicking thinking the worst and she didn't say anything to reassure me other than I was fat, so that was the problem!

IceNoSlice · 18/09/2013 13:48

Prambo I'm with you on the baby show. Those sort of things (I include wedding fairs and the clothes show live in this category too) give me the shivers. Thing is, I know I'm a weirdo because I don't like going shopping at the best of times - online all the way. But I know some folks make a real day out from them and love it. Fair dos. At least you won't have me adding to the queues, we all win Grin

Jolleigh · 18/09/2013 13:56

Pram - all of my exes have liked the piercing...just the now-mister that dislikes. (not that it really matters - got it for my pleasure, not theirs Wink )

AbiBub · 18/09/2013 13:57

happyhoppy thanks, yeah was still tender last night, I coughed while I was laying down and got a sharp pain on left hand side :0/ glad yours wasnt painful! ! nomaybe I took my notes with me but they said they didnt need them ?! I don't know whether having thd combined test with scan and blood test would make any difference? They just said they get the results together then send them out in the post, and if there's any probs my midwife will contact me?! So who knows!! grey thank you! How you feeling?

joll hoping you get poo relief soon, if you're still having problems bananas and plenty of water helps (well it did for me last time!)
hotcross thats crappy, what gives the mw the right to say such things, Stooooopid female (if you can call her that! ) hopefully you won't have deal with her again!

badlywritten and sunshine im gonna be 32 beginning of oct so im in the 30's club too!

Im with most on the 100% for vaccines, I always think we should feel blessed to have the option as a lot of countries dont have that luxury. But I do understand itsddown to the individual, just in the samedas the 'feeding' question is !!
Hows everyones ms now? I still feel rotten, thought cola may have helped but I just think im getting it no matter what! So the first trimester finishes at 13 weeks, but is that at the beginning of the 13weeks or the end of13weeks?? I need hope on the horizon for this horrid ms :0/

Feeling very sleepy but cant kip as there is a viewing on house we rent soon :0/ grrrrrr

Hows everyone else?

FoxMulder · 18/09/2013 13:57

Oh God, I went to a wedding fair once. It was all chair covers and twiddly things you could scatter all over the tables. I really didn't get it. I think they're aim is to make you feel inferior for not having all this stuff. I imagine it's exactly the same at the baby fair. Full of stuff you don't need. Not sure why I agreed to go now...I hate shopping too. Tis why I have no clothes or suitable footwear.

Prambo · 18/09/2013 13:59

Ice, it's the stuff, the women, the men (what on earth are men playing at going to these things?), the stalls, the chatter, the stuff, the stuff, the stuff....

I, too, hate shopping. Even when I was making a fortune as a stripper at the races I despised it. I am simply not taken in by Stuff. I don't understand wedding fairs. I don't understand fairs of any kind. If you don't already know what you need then you don't need it, right?

Prambo · 18/09/2013 14:01

Jolls, like a bloke once said to me: 'why the fuck would I want a mouth full of metal?'

Prambo · 18/09/2013 14:02

Covered chairs at weddings Angry

Prambo · 18/09/2013 14:03

In fact, weddings: Angry

FoxMulder · 18/09/2013 14:10

I don't want to inadvertently slag off anyone's weddings. I mean, each to their own, but I thought the chairs at my wedding reception were perfectly fine on their own...I mean, it was a 4* hotel, they weren't plastic chairs or anything. Mind you, I was always a bit puzzled when people asked me what the theme was...'errr...a wedding theme?'. I haven't been to any other weddings so I had no clue what it was all about.

Alibub MS is still kind of a problem here, but not to the extent is was. It started easing at about 12wks (13+5 now) but still, if I don't eat exactly when I want to eat I throw up. Last night DH took a few minutes too long in fetching dinner, and I puked. It makes me cross - what a stupid response to being pregnant! What possible use, evolutionarily speaking, can this possibly serve?!

AbiBub · 18/09/2013 14:15

Ive no intetest in baby fairs, just boring and lots of pushy people trying to make you buy or sign up to stuff!! :0/ nahhhhhh!

Ive got a few piercings : rook, tongue and belly button! Although my belly button is stretched now (so showing early! ) so I need to get my flexibars out from last time! Tongue piercings are fine in pg unless you have to go under to have an op in labour I think! My piercings are very much a part of me as are the three tattoos I designed and had done (all tasteful I may add) ; 0)

FoxMulder · 18/09/2013 14:20

Wow Ali That's a lot of piercings! I've not got any, not even my ears. I'm quite happy with the holes I was born with Smile
