JK10 · 17/09/2013 02:26

Anyone awake!!? My door bell been ringing its like 2.15am, do I answer!?!

JK10 · 17/09/2013 02:53

I'm such a bloody wuss!! Took me 30 mins to decide to go check downstairs and open door!! Must of been kids! Little shits. Anyway I'm 10 pages behind!! So can't comment on elt as its been such a busy week, hope all okay and i hope to catch up soon. I think I have a uti, they asked me to redo a urine test about 2 weeks ago as showed abnormalities and I totally forgot, I remember when I'm on the sch run or somewhere totally inappropriate, I then get home and forget, so I must do it today. Anyway I hope puppies, dogs, pil, dp's are all okay and behaving, I'll catch up soon.

IceNoSlice · 17/09/2013 06:04

Donut - meh. Can't stand the greasy rubbery things so have never put much thought into the spelling. Must have got 'donut' off of the Simpsons or summat. Isn't eating donuts in itself an Americanism? Shouldn't we be eating bread pudding, curd tarts or Eccles cakes if we're so British and patriotic?

Anyway, morning all. Brrrr. I'm also looking forward to feeling warmer due to pregnancy. Thank god for dressing gowns and slippers.

MummyPig24 · 17/09/2013 06:49

Good morning. It's doughnut. I'm not a huge fan but I have the occasional doughnut. I had my very first sausage, cheese and bean thingy from greggs last week.

I'm so tired even though I went to bed super early and slept all night. I've got a busy day today. Housework whilst kids are at school, pick dd up at 12 and whizz to the supermarket, looking after a friends daughter from 1.30, dd has ballet at 2.15, picking up ds at 3.20, home again to make dinner and entertain children.

apprenticemamma · 17/09/2013 07:04

Morning all. Damn I'm tired. I feel a sicky coming on (though sadly not today). Fantasising of lie ins. Envy Argh right onwards and upwards. Doughnuts it is. Better with jam inside or fudge on top imho.

FrankelInFoal · 17/09/2013 07:09

Whilst Greggs is certainly an excellent purveyor of cakes, pasties and sausage rolls, the most supreme cake available is made by a little bakery near my parents house. They make humongous cream slices that are twice the size of those sold in Greggs, and as they're made with mock cream rather than the fresh stuff, it's thicker and sweeter It is impossible to bite into one without squirting cream in every direction Grin Bloody lovely - I'm off to visit my folks and the bakers in 2 weeks Wink

I've been getting the stretchy pains too, but no sign of movement yet. I am finding I'm very sensitive to dehydration though. If I'm not knocking back water with alarming frequency I get headaches. Woke up with one ths morning and am on my 3rd glass of the day already!

Jolls sorry you are still having a rough time. Can you get out and about for some you time? I'm sure Pramela would be great company Grin

IceNoSlice · 17/09/2013 09:12

OMG I love my colleague. He's a cocky little shit most of the time (literally little, he's got small man syndrome) but... He just brought in a huge bag from Greggs. I just had a steak bake for breakfast. Amazing.

MummyPig24 · 17/09/2013 09:15

Your colleague sounds great ice!!

Joll hope you are ok, come and talk to us if we can help.

I'm having an apple and a chocolate spread roll for breakfast. Not so healthy!

commsgirl · 17/09/2013 09:19

Morning all! I've just spent ages catching up.

Jol I hope you're feeling better soon and remember we're all here for support. A steak was definitely the way to go!

It's definitely doughnut.

Lyra You must be so happy DP is home. Enjoy ;)

Hope everyone else is doing well, welcome to newbies!

FoxMulder · 17/09/2013 09:24

Hi Jolls I'm so sorry to hear your fella is still being such a selfish dick head. He doesn't sound like he makes you very happy.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/09/2013 09:33

Oh Jolls I'm sorry to hear you're having a tough time. Constipation is so bloody depressing. But rare rib eye is the only way to go. I also refuse to cook my steak well done Smile.

A MuffNut is mt version of a muffin crossed with a doughnut. Tasty bastards they are.

I'm going to have to come clean. I have only ever had a sausage roll from greggs. And that was about ten yers ago when I was job Manchester Blush. But I bloody love a pasty. Who said lamb and mint? Cos you're my girl. There's a little bakery in Bude that so the best lamb and mint pasty. Oh, I miss food!

commsgirl · 17/09/2013 09:35

Maybs I need this doughnut/muffin recipie right now!

FoxMulder · 17/09/2013 09:45

I would love a medium rare steak. There's a pub near us that has the most amazing steak night. Oh God, I would love to go but I think I would feel too guilty. Will just have to wait 'till next year.

Can I ask you ladies who have other kids how you fed them at night when they were babies? Did you sit in bed and do it? If so, did you not fall asleep and drop them? Did you take them to a different room so you could sit in a chair and do it? If so, wasn't it freezing sitting in the living room in the middle of the night?

JK10 · 17/09/2013 09:48

Yay! Finally caught up!

Joll And pram hope u okay.

lyra hope things sort out for you with your muppet of an xp, so pleased your DP is home to support u.

Welcome to the newbies and congratulations.

All those with kids just starting sch, I really hope they get on okay.

Thanks for letting is know about the sale on the mothercare prams, I'm going to go look on Sunday. The only thing I was a bit worried about is I've read in reviews that babies outgrow the orb real quick? I can't remember who it is that had gone to see them? What do u think on the size/space?

Really like some of the mat coat links too! I need to try start saving!

For those of u who don't like discussing kids! Look away now!! Okay so I really would like your opinions!! My dd was 2 in aug, I have her name down to start a pre sch but they won't take her until next sep (she will be 3) Ive put her name down to start at another nursery for 2 morns a week until she can go to the pre-sch, but am I being a horrible cruel mother considering the fact that I only do a bit of after sch childminding and some cleaning twice a week, so I don't actually need her to go! Thought I was doing the right thing to get her used to being apart from me and to give her some structure, as she is dc4 she knows what she wants!! But I'm now having second thoughts and maybe I'm just being mean!!?

What is a milkshake doughnut banana? A doughnut-banana milkshake flavour or a milkshake- banana doughnut flavour or a banana flavoured of doughnut and milkshake? Confused

I need an eds diner peanut butter and banana milkshake now! I've never been to gregs, never have a Hollands? Let alone a pie sandwich? Totally strange! I cooked a pie for DP and shoved it in some bread for his dinner the other day! He was like WtF are u doin woman! I said trust me, it's meant to be the bees knees, he said it was totally wrong, bread was all soggy and i must have got it wrong as its just not normal!?!

IceNoSlice · 17/09/2013 10:06

JK10 I'm chuckling at your DH's 'WTF?!' When you presented him with a pie sandwich! I can totally imagine the utter bewilderment it must have caused Grin

Jolleigh · 17/09/2013 10:22

Thanks everyone. It's genuinly not all about OH...he's been great in some ways, not so great in others. Just that one time I decided to resort to retail therapy.

I've been having a shite time at work...I've been working with a complete cow of a project manager in an attempt to develop myself and she's decided to use me as a fucking PA, basically all I'm doing is making her phone calls for her and she talks to me like shit if I don't do that ahead of my actual job. Well, she won't be doing it again. I've highlighted her piss poor management skills to our head of department and told him I want off. Which will majorly piss him off as he's been getting 2 people's worth of work out of me for months. There is nothing contractual saying I must to the ad hoc work, it was something I actively sought out.

On top of that, the pain really is bad. I'm definitely putting the majority down to constipation as I've had no urge to 'go' for days despite eating well. The stretching I can deal with!

I'm a bit excited Pram...I'm just normally one of those infuriatingly unfazable people who doesn't get down for very long. Just bounces back and gets on with it. But I've had a rough couple of weeks and am finding it hard to be my normal self.

On the plus side, I have my rescan today, so get to see Alien again...hopefully big enough to measure this time. Smile

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/09/2013 10:22

here you go Comms

JK I think it will be good for DD. you aren't being mean at all. I think it would be a massive jump straight into pre school otherwise plus you might get ten mins to put your feet up

I too have never had a pie sandwich. Though I think I could eat a pie right now....

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/09/2013 10:24

Ah, good luck with the scan Joll. That will cheer you up Smile. Have you tried fybogel for the constipation? That's whatnive been recommended if I ever need it

FoxMulder · 17/09/2013 10:31

Work does suck. I've no major problems, but it's just the same shit different day. SO boring. Sitting at my desk for 9 hours a day...ugh!

MummyPig24 · 17/09/2013 10:32

Fox I did find myself dropping off a few times. If you are breastfeeding then lying down is good if you are super tired because then if you fall asleep you won't drop the baby. I just tried to keep myself occupied with tv or a book whilst feeding to stop myself falling asleep.

JK I think it will be good for your dd to go to pre school for a few sessions to get her used to being independent before she starts at 3, otherwise it might take her a while to settle. Both my children have gone to pre school from 2 or 2.6 for 2 mornings and I'm a sahm. But we need time away from our children and they need time away from us.

MummyPig24 · 17/09/2013 10:33

Joll hope the scan goes well, how exciting to see baby again!

Jolleigh · 17/09/2013 10:36

I'm off to the shops to get hold of something like that after my scan NoMaybe . Are pregnant women allowed that one?

Definitely try a pie sandwich! Don't be tempted to use posh bread...warbies bread spread with Lurpack is the way to go. And don't put the whole pie on! your average pie will do you at least 2 butties Grin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/09/2013 10:38

Yes Jolls it's safe in pregnancy, should sort you out in no time.

This buttie sounds intriguing.

FoxMulder · 17/09/2013 10:39

Can you breastfeed lying down? I thought you had to hold the baby in a particular position to get it to latch? I've heard of people with bedside cots saying they do feed lying down, but I can't picture how it works.

I don't suppose I'd be able to have the TV on if DH is trying to sleep & I'm imagining it being too dark to read (have one of those bedside lights you can dim all the way down to nothing). Anyway, I always fall asleep watching TV or reading anyway! And my bed is ridiculously far from the ground. With a hard floor underneath! Hmmmmm, how am I going to do this.
