Blimey! I thought the last thread whizzed by fast but this one is incredible! Congrats to Legally to your babes and love their names & to Pink Lady too.

It's going to be impossible to comment on all your news but I can sympathise with all of you suffering from insomnia. I am still on 1.5 to 2.5 hrs sleep a night, usually due to restless legs, burning feet, itchy skin, just generally painful feet. I have taken to wearing aeroplane socks during the day which seems to help a bit. I missed my first NCT intensive day today cos had so little sleep last night.

I also fell down the stairs, tripped over the dog and hit the door the other night, clearly I haven't allowed for a change in my centre of gravity - got scabby knees and bruises worthy of any 8yr old.

The good news is, the build might just finish in time.... - only 2 weeks to go. Felt huge sense of relief when the roof was finished last wk.

I get my date for C-Section on Monday morning - but it should be end of Sept/1st week of Oct. MoN thanks for your great tips on C-Sections as starting to get nervous now.

Am intrigued to hear that many of you are starting to have mild panics about impending parent hood - me too - I was starting to panic that I might not be cut out to be a mum, but seems that it is a natural worry for us as we move closer to the inevitable time of transitions in our lives.

Next week I will be 37 weeks and its my last opportunity to have the Whooping Cough Vaccine - am starting to think I will have it - despite my reservations. I travelled extensively when I was younger and all the vaccinations I had probably saved my life several times over. If I do have it my MW will be shocked as she had completely given up on me.

Huge apologies for yet another essay length posting and I really hope to be a more frequent and more pithy poster in the future. In the meantime hope everyone is feeling as comfortable as possible in these final weeks.

MotherOfNations · 14/09/2013 23:25

Restless legs are driving me crazy too Oddlife.I've just had a banana in the hope that the potassium helps. The soles of my feet have been really itchy lately too. I'm not sure if it's pegnancy related or not.

PseudoBadger · 14/09/2013 23:28

I must apologise for being so distracted and barely name checking anyone, I'm sorry if anyone feels I've ignored them?
Falcon I hope things will speed up for you.
Tarlia, how are things?

Tarlia....pastry??? My downfall for sure!!!

MoN that is where I got it wrong!!! Never thought of being that "nice".....(just joking :))

Odd ....ouch with the falling!!! And good luck with the vaccination. I will book mine once I get over this cold!

Nellysgirl · 14/09/2013 23:35

Ahh, I'm another restless legs and itchy feet sufferer.
Been sleeping sat up lately. Sorry to hear you are suffering too xx

Oddlife · 14/09/2013 23:58

MoN I just read about bananas on another thread so also just eaten one - although don't have space for 3 as suggested by someone.

nelly'sgirl I sleep upright when heartburn gets too bad does it help with the RR too?

Someone posted a while back about feeling 80 yrs old when they wake up - I can't believe that we are meant to feel even more sleep deprived and wrecked after the baby comes!

MotherOfNations · 15/09/2013 00:11

Just googled itchy feet in pregnancy and it can be a sign of obstetric cholestasis so maybe we should get checked out.

Nellysgirl · 15/09/2013 00:12

Oddlife hello, Smile

Yes if I sleep with propped up on pillows against the wall and also elevated legs - kind of like an arrow shape it can help. I was also blending 2-3 bananas as a smoothie with milk before bed. This did used to work for me too. However nothing seems to help now its combined with hip and pelvis ache and slow labour. Gosh i must sound a right moaning mini!
Anyhow my saviour lately has been coedine given to me at the hospital to help through the slow labour. Really takes the edge off everything and makes me drowsy. I wouldn't be surviving now without it. I know that's a controversial statement but I'm still throwing it out there to be honest.
There's mixed reviews about coedine etc but st Mary's is a specialist hospital so I'm just trusting their judgement xxx

Nellysgirl · 15/09/2013 00:17

Also sending falcon a cyber hug.
Hope u are feeling better. I've just had a touch and go 2 hours and again, it's all stopped.
Must admit I was frightened tonight... Possibly because I was at my mums when I started contracting rather than at home I guess I was out of my comfort zone if that makes sense? Also didn't help that I have given DP permission to go out tonight.... Oops!

GTbaby · 15/09/2013 00:24

Serious in the same. Not quite bruised feeling but sensitive and swollen Hmm

Flyer747 · 15/09/2013 00:45

I've eaten way too much crappy buffet food I feel so so sick. Yuk!

I also love Vietnamese food dp and I travelled there for 5 weeks last year. MrsH did you say you went there last year too? My favourite place was Hoi An, such a fab place. And so cheap I really want to go back.

Terrified I can't wait to get back to my proper job, sounds crazy hey! I'm thinking of cutting my maternity leave short as I think I will go stir crazy at home constantly....I've never had a baby though so not sure what to expect/leaving it etc...watch this space.

Mon you and your dp are sex mad by the sounds of things GrinGrin good for you...

Hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday Night and heartburn and restless legs subsides ASAP Smile

Tarlia · 15/09/2013 04:19

pink cake decorating was fab, he had a ball. We are officially 37+1 highfives
badger not fab actually, bp has been 158/100 during the evening and I've just vomitted randomly :/ How are you?
ani cannot believe the dr refered you to MW in such a way, what an arse.
serious I have that feeling, mine is SPD related though. Do you suffer from SPD?
terrified you could be my medical twin, I'm on crutches too - SPD?
roo how are you feeling now? Hope you managed to sleep.
mon def get it tested if it continues, that's the last thing you need!
falcon sending you Cake

Phew, sorry to those I missed!

PseudoBadger · 15/09/2013 07:00

Tarlia, that's not good! Do you have to go back?
I've been sitting on my hands and only taking my BP once a day (unless that one is a high reading) and so far it's been ok, just got 140/89 this morning. See what it is at the MW on tues though. So swollen with a bit of a headache today though!

Started to get random tummy pains too which is interesting....

MrsHoratioNelson · 15/09/2013 07:09

Flyer yes we went to Vietnam and Cambodia last year for two weeks - it was our last gasp big trip before settling down to get pregnant. Only we didn't expect pregnancy to follow quite so soon - we got back in the middle of December and I was pregnant by mid January Wink

Our trip sounds quite tame compared to yours, we had a guide all the way round and it was only a short trip. We loved Hoi An but we also really liked Hanoi. I've never been somewhere so different that felt so comfortable so quickly.

OrangeBlossom2 · 15/09/2013 07:40

Morning all. SC at 35 weeks today. DH tells me we are 8 months/in month 9 but i always get confused with that. 2 weeks to full term sounds very close!

Sorry you are suffering odd life, ana and others. Brew

MoN I love your bargaining technique! Grin

Nelly no judgement here. Just keep up fluid and fibre. Codeine gave me the most painful constipation I have ever experienced. I ordered a tens machine yesterday with all this talk of slow labour. Really feel for you and falcon. Are you back at home now?

My boobs look like lemon drizzle cake from leaking colostrum in all directions over night! (I feel there is no such thing as tmi left here now!) Should be disgusted but quite fascinated with what they do and also thinking mmm cake Cake

My best friend, her husband and my goddaughter are coming round for Sunday lunch but a benefit of nesting is that the house is already tidy so no mad clean up before they arrive!

Natalieand · 15/09/2013 07:41

Sorry to bypass u all but to those that have had WC vaccine the area around mine has gone all red and slightly raised and burning hot to touch. Its so painful! Did everyone else's do this?

OrangeBlossom2 · 15/09/2013 07:46

Can't remember who neat but someone posted pic on the Facebook page of a red swollen WC arm so not just you. Hope it feels better soon. Thanks

Tarlia · 15/09/2013 08:00

Omg orange that was a bit too much with the cake reference. I'm never going to look at lemon drizzle without seeing crusty boobs again haha

badger MW Tuesday, though hospital want me at any time. Do you have protein? Ive been told its def worth taking bp morning, noon and night to get an overal picture, especially if you might need medication (or in my case an increase).

Not good, nat :( Have you put some kind of ice pack on it to bring the swelling down?

OrangeBlossom2 · 15/09/2013 08:14
Blush
MrsO27 · 15/09/2013 08:17

Nat mine was red and swollen for a few days. I was warned beforehand that might happen so think its quite common. Even when I mentioned to mw that I still have a painless lump under the skin (circa 5 weeks later) she said it was fine. Ice pack is a good tip though and I think paracetamol I was told too. Hope it's better soon.
Anyone else been experiencing problems with their vision? Mine went blurry last night and I couldn't read my book. Hoping it's just tiredness as ok now but feeling a bit under the weather.
Was thinking of making lemon drizzle cake this week, maybe not now...

Tarlia · 15/09/2013 08:19

Any other symptoms mrs O? My vision goes blurry when my bp goes up..

I've finally taken the plunge and ordered reusable nappies etc. Hope I don't regret this!

JellyCurls · 15/09/2013 08:21

Nat my arm is very red, hot and swollen on site of WC vaccine. This happened last time I had tetanus as well so guessing that's what's causing it this time too.

Can't remember what else I read so 37 + 6 and SC

MrsO27 · 15/09/2013 08:25

I don't think so tarlia, have a headache but not a severe one and no swelling at the moment. If the blurred vision comes back again I'll call in though. Just wondered if the blurred vision on its own was a common 3rd trimester symptom.

OrangeBlossom2 · 15/09/2013 08:25

Mrs o I read that vision does get worse, and someone, I think it was flyer, mentioned her contacts/glasses weren't right anymore? But vision problems can be a PE symptom so would check with MW to be on the safe side. I had problems with the room spinning a while back when i had laryngitis which they weren't concerned about.

MrsO27 · 15/09/2013 08:34

Thanks orange I read that too so hoping it's just that or tiredness. It was quite scary though as the words on the page were just disappearing in front of me because i couldn't focus. If it does come back today I will definitely call.
