I kept waking up spluttering as my dinner made its way up my throat! Yuk. Sleep well!

Decided to wait til dawn breaks and will take the dog for a walk.

Iheartcrunchiebars · 14/09/2013 05:56

I've started falling asleep at 8-830 and then waking up at 1am ready to start my day. Very annoying!!

moonblues · 14/09/2013 05:59

Wide awake! Don't know what's going on! Still at work and so haven't even had the chance to nap during the day. Have finally given up on sleep and come downstairs to read... pseudo and serious hope you managed to get back to sleep.

Planning to BF again, but know DH is going to get a steam steriliser and some bottles and a couple of cartons of formula. I think he has nightmares about something happening to me and he is unable to feed the baby.

legally it sounds like you are doing brilliantly! I'd forgotten about those day 3 baby blues kicking in. I'm sure you'll feel much better once your hormones settle down and the twins have got in more of a pattern of feeding and are gaining weight well. I had to do top ups with my DS and I was only feeding one, so I think you're amazing feeding 2!

I can't remember who was asking for tips about the first child when DC2 comes along and on my phone, so can't look back. We will definitely be having the baby bringing presents again. My DS was about to turn 2 when my DD arrived and their is only so long a 2 year old will look at a new baby without getting bored. Luckily the baby had brought Lego, which he played with in my hospital room. We also had lots of chat about poor mummy having to stay home and look after the baby while you and Daddy go off and have fun in the park etc. I don't know if we were just lucky but never had problems with jealousy etc, though he did tend to want to lie across my shoulders whilst I was feeding her so he wasn't left out. I did rely on CBeebies a lot in the first few weeks to keep him entertained whilst she was feeding.

SC 35+5. Only 2 more weeks of work to go - woo hoo!

Hope everyone one has good days, manages to get sleep, are not too sore, and BP stays down.

SeriousStuff · 14/09/2013 06:04

moon, unfortunately I'm still here! Still wide awake. Figure it's better to do something productive than just lie there. Really want to hoover but DH will wake up...

moonblues · 14/09/2013 06:22

Wanting to Hoover at 6am, you must be nesting! :)

terrifiednewbie · 14/09/2013 06:23

Im wide awake too. Also getting rather fed up of people saying 'sleep whilst you can'. Aside from pregnancy insomnia, the poor lady in the hospital bed next to me snores louder than any trooper. And constant bp checks....argh!

Tarlia · 14/09/2013 07:22

I'm sorry you're still in, terrified. I managed to escape home on strict bedrest and monitoring, but this is my second pregnancy of PE. What's your BP averaging at? Have they made a plan? Sending best wishes and ear plugs.

OrangeBlossom2 · 14/09/2013 07:26

Yes terrified newbie I get annoyed at people saying enjoy sleeping while you can. I haven't slept through the night since January and slept really badly the last few months.

That's interesting you are registered at two hospitals xfilefan.
I will look in to that.

Got to get a couple of busses to collect my car from work where I left it yesterday but otherwise planning to do very little today.

Enjoy your last family of three party and cakes Tarlia (was it you?)

Tarlia · 14/09/2013 07:38

Eeekkk at all those buses, orange! How are you feeling today? By sleep we mean nap too, steal every napping min. I find napping much easier than night times and if I've not napped during the day I sleep worse at night - weird.
Yes, it is me with the last weekend. I'm a control freak, so like knowing, but at the same time it's overwhelming.

Natalieand · 14/09/2013 07:39

Seriously I no u ladies said u WC vaccine gave u a dead arm but either I'm a woss or I have it worse than everyone else my arm is so painfull its agony to even lift it up!

I have my neice for the day (age 3) someone please remind me why I stupidly agreed to this. Amongst being nearly 36 weeks pregnsnt feeling like my arm is gunna fall off and having a stinking cough and cold I feel like I want to die lol

Sorry moan over - as u were

OrangeBlossom2 · 14/09/2013 07:49

Feeling ok today thanks.

Yes I can imagine it is very overwhelming, don't over-do it though. You need to look after yourself.

OrangeBlossom2 · 14/09/2013 07:50

Sorry you are feeling rubbish Nat Brew

Natalieand · 14/09/2013 07:52

I guess that as we haven't heard from falcon since yesterday morning (unless I've missed a post) that baby willow is definately on her way on even she is possibly enjoying having newborn snuggles :-)

MrsHoratioNelson · 14/09/2013 08:07

Those of you having trouble sleeping, Im not sure how many weeks you all are and whether you're still working, but I have found that stopping work (not possible for all of you I realise) and/or being able to have a sleep in the day really helped - I find now that the more I sleep in the day, the better I sleep at night, a bit like a baby!

Even half an hour seems to make a difference. And when I was plagued with insomnia, it was much worse to lie there fretting, better to get up and have a cuppa and read for a bit than lie getting crosser and crosser.

Soupqueen · 14/09/2013 08:10

Hello, sorry I've been so quiet, work really got their pound of flesh from me in the last week. However, I'm now finished and on maternity leave! It's such a strange feeling. My life has been dictated by external timetables since I was 5 (school, Uni and work) so its really bizarre to not have that structure.

Congratulations, nelly and legally!

I've no hope of catching up with all I've missed so will catch up with this page.

natalie, my arm was really sore too, I remember I couldn't lift it to get a cup from a high cupboard.

Lots of countries, including litigation crazy USA, don't recommend sterilising and I read a thread on the Chat topic recently (something like "the most useful thing you've read on mumsnet") which linked to a thread by someone (uk) who had a baby in SCBU and they didn't recommend sterilising either. It makes sense - the bugs are in the formula so the important thing is to make it up properly.

Hope the high blood pressure ladies are ok.

I'm in the heartburn gang too, horrid.

HotSoupDumpling · 14/09/2013 08:51

Morning all.

Whenever I tell my mum that I haven't slept much, she sounds so disappointed and almost accusing, 'you really ought to be sleeping as much as you can' etc. I do explain to her that I can't help it, it's not like I'm going clubbing or taking caffeine shots!

Right, PF exercises...

Soupqueen · 14/09/2013 09:07

Yep, one of my colleagues said "you'll just have to force yourself". If only it were that easy!

Sephy · 14/09/2013 09:12

Nay, I had that too. Had to get dh to help me do up and undo bra as I couldn't twist my arm that way without pain. Felt fairly wet, but happy to take advantage of some help where possible!

Sephy · 14/09/2013 09:18

Stupid phone - meant Nat.

kimblesj · 14/09/2013 09:22

Morning all I haven't posted since one of the first threads but been constantly lurking. Ds3 is due 1st November but will be having a section mid October due to spine problems this pregnancy. 33+1 today and I feel awful - had a headache for 3 days, went to dr who said bp was fine and then last night extreme nausea and sickness continuing this morning! I feel very very sorry for myself!! Exciting to read babies are appearing now! Can't wait to not be pregnant! Spent 2 years wanting to get pregnant and the last few weeks wishing it to be over and have baby Hmm

Natalieand · 14/09/2013 09:52

sephy and soup that's exactly what my arm is like! At least I no I'm not having an ''abnormal' reaction.

I no we discussed briefly presents for older dc and wanted your opinion on what we r gunna get for dd she's gunna be 3 when he's born.

A jewllery box with the spinning ballerina when u open it (she's ballerina mad) with some sweetie jewellery and a new pair of earrings (she had her ears peirced a few weeks ago so by the time he's born we will be able to change the earrings) do u think its a bit boring for her?

I told her this morning the baby might bring a present with him for her and she logically said ''he can't buy me a present he's too little' lol

TheFalconsmistress · 14/09/2013 09:52

No nat instead im crying my eyes out typing this i'm not sure how much more i can take. Had regular strong contractions 5 mins apart yesterday was just about to go in hospital but decided to go home and have a bath first she if they ramped up closer together, they eased off in the bath and never came back I am starting to think there is something wrong with me :(
I feel like i'm getting tortured :(

SeriousStuff · 14/09/2013 10:00

Natalie I had the same with the WC jab. Was fine until the following day and it felt like a constant dead arm. Then at night, I couldn't lie on it and when I would try to do my hair, I'd notice it was heavy and painful to lift. It maybe lasted 3 days max.

Falcon how frustrating! I was starting to think maybe no news was good news.

Natalieand · 14/09/2013 10:05

Awww falcon maybe if u feel physically able too go for a nice long walk? Or up and down the stairs a few times or even scrub the kitchen floor if u think it might help kick start them.
