I think 37 weeks is considered full term, so I doubt extra care would be needed at that gestational age.

Aww MoN, I'm really pleased you got such positive news at your appointment. Knowing you can have a proper skin-to-skin cuddle must be reassuring.

Heffa - how can you be feeling crappy? Aren't you on a huge high and basking in the glory of having your thread make "discussions of the day"? Grin

PseudoBadger · 12/09/2013 16:50

Grr I nearly fainted and felt very strange in the supermarket. I was looking forward to getting an hours rest at home before picking DS up, I drove past his childminder's house and she was just coming back from the school run and DS saw me. So I stopped and had to bring him home 90 mins early. I was so looking forward to a sleep :(
BP is up a bit again so I'm going for monitoring tomorrow at 10.

Oh Pseudo - how annoying. I really feel for everyone that keeps needing to go in to be monitored...obviously great that you are being kept an eye on but - aside from the worry - practically it must be very difficult to juggle around childcare, work, pets, and other commitments.

Monkey I completely get where you are coming from re: feeling responsible for making it work. I was very much the driving force behind DC2 too. I have to keep reminding myself that DP was very much a willing participant when it came to ttc..

PseudoBadger · 12/09/2013 17:05

I'm the same Bridget and Monkey, dc2 was technically my idea. So DP keeps reminding me if when I moan. The number of times that I've reminded him that a. he said yes and b. he was present for the essential bit....

I feel guilty as I saw DS and stopped the car up the road and was trying to hide! Eagle eyed little bugger still saw me :o

Have I missed a post from Tarlia today? Hope she's ok.

monkey pseudo and bridget I too was the driving force behind having another if I had never said it then dh would have been more than happy just sticking with dd forever and everytime I cry about what the hell have we done its gunna ruin everything bla bla bla he's quick too remind me it was all my idea. And to be honest I'm sure I still love the idea in think it just gets marred by our hormones I mean if I can spend half an hour crying over Velcro on a Moses basket then anything can make me cry lol

Natalieand · 12/09/2013 17:11

pseudo I don't re call seeing anything from tarlia since this morning. Xx

legallyblond · 12/09/2013 17:12

Slippy the twins Grin were totally fine at 37+3, but I did have steroids, which I suspect made a difference.

Haylebop12 · 12/09/2013 17:13

legally Thanks for you. Congratulations on your baby's. I was right, one of each. Lots of rest for you now, well as much as two newborns will allow!

Dd was born at 37+5, no extra care (can't remember who asked)

mon wonderful news about some time with baby before she's whisked away. Definitely something to look forward to!

pseudo sorry to hear your BP is back up. With all you ladies monitoring it definitely shows that since HG I've had a really easy ride!

falcon wow 3cms... I reckon you'll have your baby by the end of the weekend... Come on baby!

So dd's first full day today at school, I managed to get my hair done and pick up a new dress for a party tomorrow. That's all I managed! Felt pretty shitty yesterday but put it down to achiness, tiredness and pregnancyness! Mil gone home today so looking forward to my house back and finally finishing organizing, packing bags and really preparing for baby.

Mw tomorrow, hoping she confirms he's really low down because he feels like he might fall out sometimes! Going to have that afternoon bath and nap tomorrow too Wink

BowlFullofJelly · 12/09/2013 17:13

Haha, busted pseudo, no rest for the wicked! My DS sat and played with playdough for an hour and a half - I'm gobsmacked. He is now in his room not tidying up as I have asked him to, but will leave him pissing around while I do tea

textbook · 12/09/2013 17:14

Slippy dd1 was born by EMCS at 37+4 and was only 5lb 7oz - I had a paediatrician in theatre as they were concerned pre-delivery, but she was actually totally fine and stayed with me on the ward until I was discharged. I think it depends on how well they are breathing/feeding etc to be honest, and probably APGAR scores too?

Pseudo make sure you mention the weird faint feeling tomorrow - I had that a few times in my last pregnancy and apparently it might have been linked to the placenta not working as well as it should. It's probably nothing to worry about, but always better safe than sorry! Glad they're looking after you x

PseudoBadger · 12/09/2013 17:22

Thanks Textbook, I'm pondering whether to go in tonight as I still feel spaced out/floaty and my fingertips are numb or tingly (could just be my bad carpal tunnel which has got worse past couple of days). BP is 130s/high 80s on my home monitor. I DO NOT want to go to triage tonight having been there til late last night. My parents are in Canada until Monday so I'd be all alone :(

OP posts:
textbook · 12/09/2013 17:48

I think you're probably fine as long as you're having lots of movement from baby - it was only when I had reduced movement alongside the weird feeling that they got concerned. Can you call and ask for an opinion, explaining that you're due in tomorrow morning anyway? They'll soon tell you if they think its urgent enough to drag yourself in.

PseudoBadger · 12/09/2013 17:51

I'll see how I feel once DS has gone to bed. I haven't stopped today which is rare for me as I'm a real sloth

FeministInTraining · 12/09/2013 18:12

Yay congratulations to Skull and Legally!

Come on baby Willow, I'm thinking Falcon will have a baby this weekend too!

Saw midwife at the doctors surgery for the first hopefully last time. Not the warm fuzzy 'Sue' I stupidly expected. Had to do a urine sample in the surgery toilet- only one used for men and women. Stank and there was tissue all over the floor and a rolled up dirty nappy in the corner Shock. I didn't think to take a sample with me, they have a special toilet in the hospital with a hatch for your wee and everything lol. Then I was told there was one appointment in 2 weeks when I'm supposed to go back. I couldn't make that time so she said the next one was in 4 weeks Shock 4 days before EDD. She didn't seem to be bothered at all. I ended up booking one with one of the female GPs for 2 weeks time- a Saturday so DP can come. I really wanted to cry, the receptionist wasn't v friendly either.

Oh and baby is back to back. MW didn't seem bothered but I am- my mum had a v long back to back labour with my brother that ended in EMCS for other reasons (at 36+6 and he was fine Jelly I think it was you who was asking). I will be spending lots of time on all fours trying to spin this baby round! I bought a yoga ball from sports direct for £6.99 for anyone looking for one.

And Nat Mothercare didn't take the money when I paid the balance of my babyplan over the phone on Sunday. Luckily I called to check the balance as someone put money on it in the last few days. I was expecting them to say it was in credit but they had no record of the £370 payment I made!! Spoke to the bank and they said it had been authorised but Mothercare didn't 'collect it'. Luckily I could make the payment again and keep my delivery date next Monday. Anytime from 8-8 Shock it's outrageous!!!

Sorry for the rant, this is what happens when I'm home alone and can't rant to DP...

roofio87 · 12/09/2013 18:13

so, who's going to have their baby tomorrow........ friday the 13th!!!! Grin

FeministInTraining · 12/09/2013 18:15

And great news MoN and Warlin it's quite a nice day on the October bus. Sorry to those of you still suffering.

Clapham is it someone's last day at work tomorrow? Grin

Tarlia · 12/09/2013 18:59

Huge congratulations, legally. Fantastic weights! So glad you are feeling ok and babies are feeding well- cant imagine breastfeeding two.

I'm here, thanks for asking. I was given the option to go home this morning on the proviso that first sign of anything I call and prepare for an earlier induction - I of course was almost running hobbling out of the door. I'm on very strict bedrest and strict 3 times daily bp monitoring. Really hoping I can hold out until 38 weeks. So, 36+5 and SC.

I really cannot remember what I've just read and have a nasty headache, so no name checking I'm affraid Cake

BowlFullofJelly · 12/09/2013 19:01

I've had similar nonsense from mothercare before feminist, they are pretty rubbish at times.

Oohh, Friday 13th - maybe I should skip the curry tonight.....

claphammama · 12/09/2013 19:15

feminist Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin yes!!! last day tomorrow Grin Grin Grin Grin

and sorry you had such a rubbish appointment today... hope your hospital appointment will be better and just think - not long to go! Which hospital are you going to again? And what are the chances the baby turns at this stage? I have no idea personally but I think warlin's news should be encouraging. And I imagine it's easier for them to turn sideway than the massive manouver to turn upside down? Also, DP's cousin had a back to back birth a couple of weeks ago and it was fine - no epidural, no other intervention, nothing. Fingers crossed the baby turns for you though!

tarlia glad you are out! Smile hope your headache gets better x

and pseudo sorry your BP is misbehaving again. It must be exhausting to be in and out of monitoring all the time x

hope everyone has a good evening. I'm on my own tonight as DP is out drinking (expect major snoring again...). Correction - not on my own but with a little demon formerly known as my DS who is trying to kill me or drive me insane today...

BowlFullofJelly · 12/09/2013 19:34

When or is everyone putting a drinking ban on DP's? To his credit DP hasn't had a big session for months, but he does frequently drink too much to drive.

Natalieand · 12/09/2013 19:47

feminisT it seems a few of us have had problems with baby plan from mothercare although I will say in fairness too them they have rectified my problem fairly quickly and are replacing it with an items of higher value than I originally ordered with no extra charge. Just annoying having to wait in for more collections/deliveries. What buggy have u brought?

Did u manage to get discharged legAlly x

Hope your feeling a bit better now pseudo xxx

bowlfull dh rarely drinks so I won't really need to impose a drinking ban fortunately.

falcon could easily be in the running for a Friday 13th baby lol

roofio87 · 12/09/2013 19:48

bowlfull me and dp have agreed for him to not drink from now on, im 37 weeks tomorrow. wouldn't mind it so much this weekend, but definitley not any weekend after this one.

went on a big long walk today and have an hour on the exercise ball and now getting very sharp uncomfortable feeling v low down so wondering if baby has gone even further down and engaged even more?!?

Shootingstarsandcomets · 12/09/2013 20:02

Back from hols now and I see we have some babies! Congratulations!!
We've agreed DH won't drink after this weekend too. Well, he can have the odd glass of wine but not enough so that he'd be over the limit and unable to drive me the 1.5 hrs to hospital.
Also a little advice on travelling with a 1 year old when 8 months pregnant..........don't go on easy jet- hardly room for me let alone me and bump and ds! Of course DH was there and quite willing to have ds on his lap but unfortunately we are going through a mummy only phase so I was squished in with ds on my knee, definitely not fun.

pinkbuttons · 12/09/2013 20:22

Having complete mind blank over what Ive just read and from who but huge Congratulations to legally so glad to hear you and the twins are both doing well. Grin

Also glad to hear your out tarlia even with the strict orders you have been sent home with. at least DS can see you in your own home.

pseudo sorry to hear about BP.

and fingers crossed for a baby by the end of the weekend falcon.

My DH also on a drinking more than one glass of wine ban from this weekend, although will have to give him some leeway next weekend for his birthday do and just keep my legs crossed for the night.

Had scan here today. Baby all still ok but has had a bit of slow down in growth. gone from 75th percentile 4 weeks ago to just below the 50th. Still obviously a great weight at 6lb 7oz at the moment but concern is that my thyroid might not be supplying her with enough and could have caused a slow down. Consultant tomorrow to discuss and just hoping levels are still high enough to go to the MLU. Having a slight panic but DH is calling me ridiculous and hes right that we should wait and see how tomorrow goes.
Hope everyone has a good night sleep tonight. No crazy dreams or discomfort for any of us x
