Congrats Skull! ThanksI'm sorry you had problems at the hospital but it sounds like your beautiful little girl can make you feel better.

Congrats also to slippy!

I've had a huge problem with mw continuity. I had a lovely mw for my first 3 appts, then I thinks something happened bc it was a different one every time after that. Then I moved. My new area is much better and new mw is lovely. Unfortunately I've missed all their awesome antenatal classes and home birth evenings because I moved so late. My edd is 22 oct and they've offered me a 4 week antenatal class programme starting 17 oct. I sobbed on the phone to DH bc I know he's been anxious to take classes and we've signed up to the NCT classes in Stockport (not our area!) the weekend of the 21st. We were avoiding that expense but we're a bit desperate now with DH worrying about the home birth.

To everyone planning to use a bedside cot/ babybay- bedneat/etc what are you planning in terms of bedding? I've read that we shouldn't have pillows or a duvet if cosleeping but is that necessary with a bedside cot? I'm doing a DIY with a second hand cot so I have no "official" instructions.

PseudoBadger · 11/09/2013 18:13

Oops too early:

Hope you feel better soon Nat

Jelly - that's quite early to do the "Why's" I think you lucky thing :o

MrsHoratio - hope the HV turned up?

OP posts:
MrsHoratioNelson · 11/09/2013 18:13

MrsO you naughty lady! Take more care, will you?!

Nat, they're just called musical jewellery boxes. If you google that, some should come up.

MrsHoratioNelson · 11/09/2013 18:16

Oh, and no sign of HV. I called the clinic in the end and left a slightly passive aggressive message "gosh, terribly sorry, have I got the wrong day?" etc etc. Grin

Someone called me back and HV will apparently rearrange. No word from HV herself, though Hmm

PseudoBadger · 11/09/2013 18:20

Oh dear MrsH! We get our book here when the baby is born, seems to make more sense...

[Flowers] Congratulations skull! And welcome Lilly! Love the name! Sorry about crappy treatment.

Congrats slippy.

Off to my first nct class now.

moonblues · 11/09/2013 19:08

Congratulations skull. Hope you and baby Lilly are doing well and DP isn't too upset.

Congratulations Slippy. I'm very impressed. I think you add that to your CV - first class honours whilst 8 months pregnant!

Got my C-section date today, 7 th October. It's suddenly feeling a lot more real! Roxvox please could you add me to the spreadsheet if you're still on the computer? DC3, surprise, EDD 14/10/13, section date 7/10/13. No name as yet! Thank you. :)

moonblues · 11/09/2013 19:13

Flowers to all the ladies who have been feeling unwell and are in hospital. Hope you start feeling better soon.

I'm starting to feel very weary and looking forward to this pregnancy being over, though realise I will probably be more tired when the baby arrives...

PseudoBadger · 11/09/2013 19:19

Mine is on the 7th too!

JellyCurls · 11/09/2013 19:34

Pseudo both DD and DS are chatterboxes, DD was speaking in sentences at 18 months and telling me about her dreams at 2yrs. She took it upon herself to teach DS a new word every day last summer at 18months old and he now never shuts up either. Better that than not though.

Had WC vaccine today and lovely nurse palpated me. Baby head well down but back to back and she reckons it weight almost 8lb already - help. How can I bring on labour tonight?

Natalieand · 11/09/2013 20:06

I can't believe we still haven't heard from legally... I hope everything went well for her and the babies

ananikifo · 11/09/2013 20:16

I'm worried about Legally and her babies now. I hope they're all ok and staying offline because they're resting and having family time.

claphammama · 11/09/2013 20:24

I hope legally is just very busy and has her hands literally full!

and whatever happened to nelly? we haven't heard from her yet and it's been a few days now.

So I've cancelled the dinner and am loving my quiet evening at home! Grin waiting for my pizza to arrive as can't face any cooking tonight. Swollen feet and painful back are much happier on the sofa.

ruby so sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with OC... do you have to take any meds or are they simply monitoring you? I will be careful then. Other than itching, are there any other symptoms we should be looking out for?

claphammama · 11/09/2013 20:33

ps. warlin hope you are right and the baby's turned! and, if needed, hope the turning procedure is not too uncomfortable

and mrsO how on earth did you manage to fall again?? look after yourself! I also dream about moving to a bungalow these days - the stairs are killing me

HotSoupDumpling · 11/09/2013 20:43

ana, apparently babies shouldn't have pillows or duvets even if they are in a separate crib/bednest etc. So we should either use a sleeping bag, swaddle, or blanket/s (our midwife said the blankets should be cellular cotton blankets, not polyester/thick wool, and should be tucked under their arms).

slippy - I'm in awe. My brain cells have slowly died off during this pregnancy.

skullbabe · 11/09/2013 20:46

Thanks everyone! Now just waiting to hear about legally's twins. I'm sure she's having lots of cuddles and kisses.

rubytwosday · 11/09/2013 20:47

pseudo and moon I am due on 7th and hopefully will be able to hold on that long. Nat I am 36+2 and next being monitored at 37+2 so won't be induced until 37+3 at the very earliest (unless symptoms very suddenly get worse) which is reassuring. Clapham have been given piriton for the itching and some long named acid meds to lower the bile acids (which again cause the itching) so just reducing symptoms rather than treating the illness. There are no other symptoms unless your liver is really bad, then might look jaundiced. Is it baby warlin being turned tomorrow? (Sorry - not easy to check on phone) well, who ever it is, good luck - I hope baby gets into the right position. And pseudo and tarlia hope blood pressure and other symptoms improve.

ananikifo · 11/09/2013 20:55

hotsoupdumpling I meant bedding in the big bed, for adults. I always thought cosleepers should avoid duvets and pillows. I've tried googling it tonight and it's not very clear.

TheFalconsmistress · 11/09/2013 20:57

Hey,
I am home thank god I am hoping legally is ok worried about her. MW is coming for a few days to check my bp for a week till next tuesday when i have another appointment but I keen to stay away from hospital till IM bursting!

ananikifo · 11/09/2013 21:00

ruby I hope your OC is controlled and you and baby stay as healthy as possible.

MrsO27 · 11/09/2013 21:01

I honestly have no idea clapham. One minute I'm fine, the next I'm on my bum! Maybe natalie is right and i can't see the next step. Have thrown away my slippers as DH thinks they are too slippy.

In other news, we're getting some decorating done next week and the painter was round tonight and said "you've put on weight - in addition to just being pregnant". Could have punched him! English isn't his first language so maybe it was a 'lost in translation' thing! I just have to laugh about these comments now.

Am also worried about legally. Hope all is ok.

Iheartcrunchiebars · 11/09/2013 21:04

Sending love to legally.

Congrats to skull, can't believe you have a baby to cuddle already! Such a pretty name.

notsoold · 11/09/2013 21:10

Congratulations skull...lovely lovely name choice!!!
